Pretty Little Studio Picture Challenge

For Pretty Little Studio's Picture Challenge I created this fun layout about my 3 kids. The quote said "you are my favorite work of art" and that's what they are!

and a few close-ups:

Supplies: Pretty Little Studio "Nature Walk" collection, Studio Calico wood veneers, American Crafts cardstock, a doily and an old bookpage.

Stitching tutorial - Pretty Little Studio

Hi everyone! For today I created this fun and simple tutorial for Pretty Little Studio: I’m going to show you how I create my favorite hand stitched titles. Here’s my page where I hand stitched the word “girl”. I used the fabulous “Nature Walk” collection which I found very fitting for my photo.

First I basically designed my page, so I knew where I wanted my title and how large it should be. For the background I used the “Sil. 3# Numbers Cut File” from the digital section of Pretty Little Studio’s online store. I typed the title in Microsoft Word, font “Scriptina” and printed it.

Next I cut out the title and placed it on my layout to find the right spot for it.

When I knew where I wanted the title I secured it in place with a small piece of Scotch tape and used my paper piercer to pierce little holes through the paper with the printed title on it.

When I was done, I removed the piece of paper with the title and it looked like this:

Next I hand stitched the title using a piece of embroidering thread:

And I was done! Super easy! Here’re a few close-ups of my page:

Hope you like it! If you've got a minute I would really appreciate if you would stop by Pretty Little Studio's blog to leave me a comment! Thank you sooooo much for stopping by my little blog!

Alvast heel erg bedankt! xoxo

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

You Two - Pretty Litte Studio

For yesterday's sketch challenge over at Pretty Little Studio is created this layout about my dd and friend:

I really loved the sketch Keri Babbitt created for us! I built my page by cutting 6 strips of approx. 2 inches wide of the pink colored papers of the Neapolitan collection and adhering these diagonally to the left side of my cardstock and machine stitched them.

I used some Gelatos with water to color the right side of my layout a bit pinkish and finished it off by hand stitching the chevrons on the bottom of my page (I used a template to do t
his). Only then did I add the photos, the tags, the big number 2, the banner flags, the butterflies etc..

and here's the sketch I used:

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Big hug!

Lift layout "Together" - Scrapbook Magazine UK & Doodlebug & Unity Stamps

For the September 2013 issue of Scrapbook Magazine UK I created this layout for the readers to lift. I decided to use colorful photos and a colorful collection! The photos were taken on the day we/The Netherlands got a new king (that's the reason for the orange color!) and the collection I used is from Doodlebug: "Take Note". The stamps I used are from the Unity Stamps "April 2013 Kit of the Month".

The chipboard accolade I covered with some Doodlebug washi tape and the stamping ink is also from Doodlebug.

A few close-ups:

and this is the Unity stamp set I used: April 2013 "You make my heart puffy"

How I would love to know if someone actually did lift my page ...

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I really appreciate it!

I LOVE US - Imaginisce & free cut file

Today was a perfect day to scrap! The sun is finally shining again and I really felt like creating a Spring layout. I chose these photos from Spring last year and Imaginisce's new "Welcome Spring" collection and a sketch from Sketchabilities and got started!

Vandaag weer heerlijk zitten scrappen.

I created the "I love us" title with my Silhouette Cameo and a bit of Color Shine from Heidi Swapp. If you like the cut file too, then please feel free to download it (at the end of this blogpost).

and two more close-ups:

en nog wat close-ups:

Supplies: Imaginisce "Welcome Spring" (patterned paper, diecuts, journaling cards); American Crafts (cardstock, paperclip, Thickers (heart)); BoBunny (doily); Studio Calico (wood veneers); UmWowStudio (chipboard arrow); Heidi Swapp (Color Shine); Kesi'Art (triangle misting template); misc.: gesso.

And here's the sketch I used: #109 from Sketchabilities. Love it, even though I didn't use as much paints and mists as was intended (I think). However, if you look closely you'll see I did apply some gesso to the background paper. Love the effect!

And if you would like to use my Silhouette cut file too, then please feel free to download it. However I would really appreciate it if you would give me credit when using it. Thanks!

En hier is de Silhouette cut file, veel plezier ermee!

Hello Handsome - Imaginisce

I always love Kristine's sketches over at Creative Scrappers and sketch #261 is no exception. So when I had a free moment I printed it off and got started. Here's what I did:

I chose a photo of my oldest son taken while we were in Antwerp, Belgium for a few days. I used Imaginisce's "Perfect Vacation" and a few Silhouette cut files (seriously, I wouldn't know what to do without this tool!).

A few close-ups:

Happy Valentine's Day! - Jillibean Soup

Because it's almost Valentine's Day I've created this card and gift box for my hubby (let's hope he won't peek at my blog!). I found the "Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup" collection from Jillibean in my lss last Saturday and used them straight away. I just love the combination kraft/white/red!!

First up, the gift box: the box and the leaves I made using my Silhouette Cameo. The circles I created with my Sizzix Big Shot:

and a close-up: on the leaves I sprayed some color shine from Heidi Swapp:

And secondly the Valentine's card:

Also using the "Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup" collection and a Silhouette cut file:

The red arrow is from MME.

Hope you like them! Thanks for stopping by my blog! and happy Valentine's Day!!

My grandfather and grandmother ad 1963 - Imaginisce

This week you'll find numerous Valentine's layouts on Imaginsce's blog. Today they're showing mine. For my Valentine’s layout I chose to use a very old photo, one from 1963: my grandmother and grandfather. I love the combination of the soft pink “baby” colors and the old b/w photo. Who would have thought that a baby collection would be so perfect for Valentine’s projects!

What I really love nowadays are triangles and if you look closely at my background paper you’ll see little gesso triangles. It’s not very apparent … I’m only a beginner with gesso, so I’m still very careful when I do use it. And of course I had to finish my page with some stitching. My pages aren’t finished without it.

Supplies: Imaginisce: patterned papers, sticker stacker, buttons, bling (My Baby). American Crafts: cardstock, glitter tape, glue runner.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
Bedankt voor je bezoekje!! Fijne dag nog!

One of a kind - Pretty Little Studio

Today the page I created about my hubby using the fabulous “Monsieur” collection is up on Pretty Little Studio's blog. I just love this collection with the big diecuts of different types of men! They are so funny (and perfect for photos of my husband!)!

For this layout I used only one 8×8 sheet of paper: “Mr Williams” and cut this in 4 equal parts. Then I cut the mini bunting flags “Mr Wood” in separate triangles and adhered them randomly to my page (well, not so very randomly – it took me quite a while to decide where to adhere them, lol) and last but not least I added the (bingo)cards, the tags, some paper ribbons and the diecuts. I really love the end result!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! and TGIF! hope you'll have a fun weekend with lots of crafting!

My little big man, my youngest! Love him to bits! and he's growing up so fast ... much too fast! Here's a page about him wearing his father's sun glasses and cap in France last August.

Using the awesome "Daily Chevies and Everyday Bits" collection from Bella Blvd (loving the big chevrons!). The stamps are from Scraptastic Club.
