Two more "Riptide" layouts | Scraptastic Club

Hi everyone, today I want to share the other layouts I created with Scraptastic Club's Riptide kit and add-on

First this one which I created for the Thursday Challenge. We (Victoria and I) thought it would be fun to create a layout using big hand cut letters for the title.

To create the letters I used a very old alphabet stencil (from way back when I got started scrapbooking) and drew the letters with a thin pencil line on the back of the sheet and cut them out. If you don’t have stencils like these you can also use chipboard letters and trace them with a pencil, or use the empty chipboard frame that is left when you’ve used all the letters, but maybe even easier, you could also type your text in your computer and print it straight onto your scrapbook paper and then hand cut it.

The photos of my kids are taken in front of our house and so the Amy Tangerine die cuts of the houses were just perfect! I also love those Pretty Little Studio hearts, because if you look closely you’ll see that there are houses printed on those as well!

And don’t you just love these die-cuts with the gold foil?!

Next up I have this layout "Life Is Short, Don't Be Lazy" layout: A couple of months ago I got a brand new bicycle and of course I took lots of photos of it, like the ones I used for today’s layout. In The Netherlands a bicycle is the main way of transport and everyone has at least one bike in his/her shed, but very often we have more than one (one to do the shopping, one to cycle to the station – bicycles often get stolen there, so you take a cheap/old one with you -, one to race, …. you get my drift). My new bike is called a “heavy duty” bicycle and is mostly meant to use in the city, to do the shopping, to taxi the kids, etc. But although it’s not really meant to cycle “tours” with, I love to do so once in a while. And that’s what we did the day this photo was taken. We, my hubby and I, cycled from one village/town to the next, had coffee on a terrace along the way and all in all had a great time.

For the background of my page I used one of Scraptastic Club’s digital cut files (from the Elastic Heart kit, August 2015). I really love those and often cut all the files the moment I get them and then I keep them in a small drawer to use them when I need them. The papers and embellishments I used here are almost all from Amy Tangerine’s Finders Keepers collection. When I get my new kit, I start sorting all my papers and embellishments by manufacturer, in this case American Crafts’ Amy Tangerine and how I adore her collections!! Isn’t the tag with “Life is short don’t be lazy” just perfect for these photos?!

I always try to add a bit of journaling to my pages (not just the date, lol), but often forget about this resolution until it’s too late and my page is “full”. In this case I decided to write the text in the little triangles. Really loving the result.

I find it always very hard to use (die-cut) cards with photos on them, like this one. But with my photos it kind of matched. Love it when that happens!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Have a great day!
Hugs,
Monique
