Here's my very first Spunky layout!
As it's almost thanksgiving (in the US) the challenge this week is to scrap about what you're thankful for, but with a slight twist: it can't be family/friends/kids etc.... and you can't use the word "thankful" in the title.
So I made a layout about how grateful I am for all the frequent flyer points (and hotel points) Patrick collected, because without them we wouldn't have gone to California for 4 weeks in April/May this year!!
Hope you have the time to play along!

I love this time of year!!
Don't you just love this time of year??? Not only because of (mine and) Manon's birthday (she turned 13!!!) but also because of Sinterklaas and Xmas! And although it's a pretty hectic time, I enjoy every minute and because of that I'm constantly in the mood to scrap (what a shame there are only 24 hours in one day)! Here's one of my recent scrappy purchases, an old fashioned type writer, which I found on the internet! Love to use it for my journaling!
Our birthdays were last weekend and we had a marvellous time; lots of family and friends over, lots of cake and lots of presents! Look what I got.... a Slice!!! Yeah!!
Our birthday girl!!!
Then yesterday we watched the arrival of Sinterklaas here in Delft. It was a pity that Manon's soccer game was in the afternoon so Patrick and she couldn't come with us, but Timothy, Mats and I hugely enjoyed ourselves.
And then yesterday evening I finished this!! When I was in my favorite scrapbook store, Scrapbook Nederland in Voorburg about 2 weeks ago, I saw this wooden advent box and fell in love with it straight away!
Firstly I painted the box, then I cut all the rectangles and machine stitched them, then I inked and embellished them and finally I glued them to the box. I used the Xmas line, Jolly by Golly, from Cosmo Cricket (LOVE it), some Bazzill for the numbers (cut them with my new Slice!!) and a little bit of this and that.
Hope you have a wonderful time too and I would love to see your comments!
Thanks and see you soon! Monique

Great news and 2 layouts!
I've got some great news!!! I made it on the "Spunky Scrappers" Design Team!!!
To be continued.....
And here are two layouts I created last week: the first one of my mom and Mats:
And the second one of Mats, dressed as a Tiger:
For both layouts I used Imaginisce papers and embellies and even the packaging.

Scrapping some school photos
It's Wednesday again and for me that means another sketch from Tanya. This week Tanya's sketch really worked for me. It arrived quite late (please take no offence Tanya!) and as I'm a working mom now it was a close call whether or not I would make it on time....but..... then Manon came home with her school photos! To be honest, I don't really like to scrap the photos taken by the school photographer, I don't know why. Maybe because they are too smooth? or to perfect??? Whatever. This time though, I couldn't wait to start scrapping! I knew exactly what I wanted to do and this is it:
I started with glimmermist and on top of that I sprayed the darker blue ink. The papers are from my October Nook kit, Graphic 45, flowers + centers + felt + swirl are from Prima and the rest is just a bit of this and that.
I think it's my favorite layout right now. What do you think???
And here's the sketch it's based upon:
If you want to see what the other designers made, have a look at the Little Shop of Sketches blog, better...please play along and show us your version of this sketch. You could win some Tanya Leigh Design products!!
Thanks for looking and do leave a comment (I love reading them!). Have a nice evening and see you later! Monique xx
