A few Doodlebug cards!

As I desperately needed a few cards, but don't like to buy them AND because I didn't have a lot of time to create them I decided to use Doodlebug's "Create-A-Card" which are a guarantee for quick and great cards!

First I created these two "Thinking of You" cards, which I can use for every occasion:

supplies: Doodlebug "Create-A-Card", Doodlebug/Hampton Arts Clear Stamps ("Doodlepop Icons" & "You Said It"), Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Sweet Cakes & Petite Prints. Other: Fiskars Border Punches.

And then I made these two quick birthday cards.

For these cards I used Doodlebug's Create-A-Card, Doodlebug/Hampton Arts Stamps ("Sweet Backgrounds", "Party Time" and "You Said It"), Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Petite Prints, Die Cut & Fancy Frills: "Cake and Ice Cream".

That's it for today! and who knows ....  maybe one of these is made for you?!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and have a fab weekend!

Candle Light and My Little Shoebox!

For my MLS June Project I chose to alter this candle holder which was a present I got about a year ago. Although I think it was beautiful as it was, I decided to give it a more personal touch and dress it up a bit. I used the "Lovely Day" collection which I found just perfect for what I had in mind!

I started with this:

When I saw those awesome 3D Roll-Up Flowers I knew exactly what I was going to do! I started with 4 strips of paper (one with a punched border), layered them on top of each other and machine sewed them together:

Then I created the centerpiece, using a hand cut journaling spot (New Story) as my base and attaching 3D Roll-Up Flowers, some die-cut flowers, banner pieces, a sentiment and a bird cage sticker:

I attached this to the strip of paper and finished it off with more flower and bird stickers from the Cardstock Sticker sheet:

And this is the result:

Hope you like it!

But there’s more! I have also created 2 cards for you: a birthday card and a card for a good friend.
I don’t know about you, but I for one, almost always forget to send people birthday cards. I think it’s because I don’t want to buy them, but make them myself and then I forget about it until it’s too late. So what did I do today? I created a birthday card in advance AND a card for a good friend whose birthday card I forgot.

First the birthday card:

And my other card:

All these projects are created with the “Lovely Day” collection. Don’t you just love this collection?!!

Additional supplies: pearls and pins (Inkido), twine (The Twinery), Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels), Words-On-The-Go (K&Company), stamping ink (Color Box), liquid pearls (Perlen Pen Viva) and dies from Quickutz (bird) and Marianne Design (birdcage, leaves and doily).

Dutch Dares Sketch 52

En afgelopen woensdag was het weer tijd voor de nieuwe Dutch Dares schets! Dit keer is-ie van Cynthia en ik vind 'm erg leuk geworden!

Last Wednesday it was time for the brand new Dutch Dares sketch! This month our Cynthia is the creator of the sketch. Have a look:

Dit is 'm:

En dit is mijn layout:
And here's what I did with it:

It's a page about one of my bffs. We've been friends ever since high school and even then she was the best "drawer" in our class. So I'm not al all amazed she turned into a fabulous painter. Her favorite subject is painting cows and she does that fabulously! The cows in her paintings are so real, you expect them to moo any minute! This photo was taken during an exposition last May.

Supplies: Pebbles (Fresh Goods) <3!!!!

If you want to see what the other design team members made hop over to the Dutch Dares blog and who knows, maybe you feel so inspired you want to play too! Just link up your page to the right blogpost and who knows, maybe you'll be the winner of our monthly RAK or the next guest designer! (open for international scrappers too!)

Bedankt voor het langskomen en fijn weekend allemaal!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a fab weekend!

Monique

June Doodles Sketch!

Today my sketch is up at Doodlebug! Have a look HERE!

This is the sketch I made:

And here's my take:

Remember I told you about the new Doodlebug/Hampton Arts stamps? For this page I used lots of them: Flower Garden, Home Sweet Home, Party Time, Journal Shapes & Thankful. LOVE them all!!

The layout is about my youngest who loves to copy his dad ... here he reads his magazine, uses his reading glasses and wears his shoes. Isn't he sweet? He always manages to make me smile.

If you want to see what Aphra did with the sketch, then hop over to Doodlebug's blog!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I really appreciate it!

Doodlebug Tutorial: Father's Day Gift Box!

Hi Friends!

Last Tuesday it was my turn on Doodlebug's blog to share a tutorial with you all! As Father’s Day is around the corner I thought I would create this little gift box, which you can then easily create with your kids to give to their dad, or which you can create for your own dad of course! The reason I chose this project is that Doodlebug’s brightly colored and double sided papers and just perfect for the occasion!

So here’s what I created: A “Tie” shaped Gift Box!

And here’s how you create it:
Either use this image (dotted lines = fold & straight lines = cut)

or download a “tie box pattern” from the internet (just type “tie box pattern” in your search engine and several patterns will show up), print and cut it out, lay it on your paper of choice (I chose papers from the “Boys Only” collection) and cut twice around the pattern (or draw around it and cut then), one slightly bigger than the other (the bigger one will become the lid):

Lay the printed pattern back on top of your cut out form and use your scoring bone to score the dotted lines. Press firmly as you’ll want to score your patterned paper which now lays beneath your printed pattern. Next remove the printed pattern and fold the scored lines.

Then proceed to glue the right tabs together. You’ll notice there’s an open space left on both the left and right side of the top of the box, where you have to adhere a small strip of paper (1,5”x 0,7”, fold in the middle).

Your box will now look like this:

Now you’re ready to embellish your box! Assemble everything you need for the decoration. In my case I used lots of these new Doodlebug products: journal stamps, pigment ink pad, Teensy Type alpha stickers! (for complete supply list see below this blog post):

And this is the result:

To create the label use a stamp from the “Doodlebug Journal Shapes Rubber Cling Stamps (Hampton Arts)” and stamp with Doodlebug’s Tangerine Pigment Ink Pad on a scrap of paper. Use the new Teensy Type alpha stickers for the sentiment and finish it off with some of Doodlbug’s wonderful mini jewels. Tie the label with some Doodle Twine to the box. Add sticker, a strip of journaling and a strip of paper (with dove tail) and a button.  And you’re done!

Measurements of the box: the pattern measures 9,5” and the length of this box once put together measures 7”. Hope you’ll like it!

Supply List: Doodlebug Collection: Boys Only, Doodlebug Journal Shapes Rubber Cling Stamps (Hampton Arts), Doodlebug Tangerine Pigment Ink Pad by Colorbox, Doodlebug Teensy Type cardstock alpha stickers (swimming pool), Doodle Twine, Doodlebug button & Doodlebug mini jewels.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! You all make my day <3!! and if you want to do me a favor then I would really really love it if you left a comment on Doodlebug's blog!!!!

Monique

Cake Pop Party!

When the new stamps from Doodlebug/Hampton Arts arrived I started to play straight away! But, I have to say, I got a bit too excited ... I just couldn't stop stamping. So here's the page I created, maybe a bit too much, but you've got to admit it's colorful!!

A few details: the alpha stickers are the new Doodlebug "Teensy Type Cardstock Stickers".

A page about the cake pops we baked a few weeks ago. It was very fun creating these and they tasted terrific!!

Here's what I used for my page:

Doodlebug Party Time Rubber Cling Stamps by Hampton Arts

Doodlebug Sweet Backgrounds Clear Stamps by Hampton Arts

Doodlebug Simply Sweet Alphabet Clear Stamps by Hampton Arts

Doodlebug Ladybug Pigment Ink Pad by Hampton Arts

Doodlebug Tangerine Pigment Ink Pad by Hamton Arts

Teensy Type Cardstock Alpha Stickers

Ladybug Candy Dots 12x12 Sugar Coated Cardstock

Patterned Paper: Bon Appetit & Crushed Velvet Cardstock.

And these new products are only a few! I know what I'll be doing the coming weeks!!
