Project Life Week 12 - Doodlebug

I'm a bit ashamed to admit it ... but I'm still working on my Project Life album from 2012! When I got started in January 2012 I thought it would be easy peasy to do one spread a week. I mean, how difficult can that be? Well, it is! Difficult I mean. I just don't do things "half" and it takes me about 2 days to finish one week for the album. Which is fine, if you don't have so much else going on .... but I have! But because I love doing it, I decided not to get stressed out about it and just continue in my own pace.

And therefore I can now show you week 12 from 2012:

I've used Doodlebug's collection "Flower Box" which comes with a whole bunch of 4x6 inserts (the other new collections too).

Left side:

and the right side:

What I love about Doodlebug is that their collections are so utterly complete! The 12x12 sheets, the stickers, the 4x6 inserts, alphabets in all sorts and sizes, the washi tape .... they've got it all!

Thanks for stopping by my blog again today!

Thank You Cards - Doodlebug

Scrolling through my projects on my computer I found these 2 cards I made for Cynthea and Lori (my Doodlebug heroes!!) last year. I sent them, but I now realize that I never showed them to you. So here they are:

and two close-ups:

Hope you like them!

Paper Issue: Lifestyles to "DIE" for!

Have you checked out the current issue at Paper Issues? It's called Lifestyles to "Die" For. It's being sponsored by Lifestyle Crafts (formerly QuicKutz). They've offered SEVEN prize packs and the only thing you have to do is to link up ANY project, new or old, that features diecuts OR something about your daily life!! and to like them and Paper Issues on Facebook. Isn't that super super easy?!

Check out all of the details here.

I chose to focus on "daily life" for this issue and created this page with the fabulous "Hopscotch" collection from Fancy Pants:

An example of our very very daily life: playing on the iPod. We all do it, either playing on our iPods or iPhones. Can't imagine life without them.... but whether it's all good??? The kids are really having trouble to put these "toys" away and play with something else instead.

There are loads of wonderful new things in the Paper Issues store, like the highly sought after Studio Calico Atlantic collection sequins and pretty packs of multi-colored doilies. When you're ready to shop, use code MONIQUE to get 20% off your entire order.

For all my American friends & family: have a great Memorial Day weekend and for all my other friends & family: have a fabulous - hopefully sunny - weekend!!!

Life is Good - Doodlebug

Hi sweet friends!! So happy you decided to stop by my blog today! I've got another Doodlebug layout to share with you. I've used their Stars & Stripes collection for this page, one of my favorite collections (not only because of the great design, but also because of the red-white-blue colors).

Aren't the colors just awesome? And the designs - did you see those little bicycles? Just perfect for us Dutchies! (You wouldn't say this is a 4th of July collection, right?) As I couldn't make a choice which papers to use and which to discard, I decided to use them (almost) all! I just layered them all on top of each other!

One of the tools I use often is my Quickutz Squeeze Tool. I've bought the tool when I started scrapbooking and I've still got it within hand reach. In this case I've punched the photo corners with it to use them as arrows.

This layout is up on Doodlebug's blog today. I'd love a visit from you there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I really love your visits!

Let's talk about Hair Accessories!

Last week it was i-top tool week at Imaginisce! This tool is so versatile! You can use it for (almost) anything!

Monday was "hair accessories day". Have a look at this blogpost to see what apart from me, Seppa, Suzanna and Apryl made! Really worth hopping over! For a complete impression of the tool and it's possibilities check every blogpost at Imaginisce's this last week!

Here's what I made with the i-top tool and the i-top buttons:

This large bow is attached to a hair clip:

and the owl is attached to a hair elastic:

The owl is made with felt. I just hand drew the shape, cut it, drew 2 circles and cut those too and created the eyes with my I-Top tool and the small sized buttons. The inspiration for the bow I found on Pinterest. I gave it a bit of a twist by adding the large I-Top button.

I have to admit I struggled a bit coming up with ideas for this assignment. Creating layouts is more "my thing", but in the end I really love the result.

Supplies: I-Top tool, Button Daddies small (owl) and large (bow). Fabric: misc.

Mother's Day Photo Frame

Hi everyone!

Did you have a fun Mother's Day? Either for yourself or visiting mothers/grandmothers/mothers-in-law? I had a great day, with a wonderful family breakfast  (which is quite something as on Sundays the two teenagers usually sleep in) with presents from the kids, followed by a visit to my mil.

For my mother-in-law I created this photo frame (which you may have seen on Doodlebug's blog already) with Doodlebug's "Flower Box" collection:

Last year I created a photo display with photos of the grandchildren, but this year I thought a photo with her and her own children and husband would be a nice change. The photo was taken during a family weekend away last year.

The punched border was done using a Fiskars 2 in 1 punch (border and corner punch) and I created the title with my Silhouette.

Thanks for visiting my blog again!

My Mind's Eye layout

and another layout for the 2Peas NSD challenges is done!!

NSD challenge #2 is a sketch challenge! and I love sketch challenges!

Here's what I made:

A layout with photos of our cruise in 2011. Here we're in Greece, Katakolon. We only stayed for a few hours, but I could have stayed for days ... no weeks! I just love Greece and can't wait to go back.

This new collection "Find your Wings and fly" from My Mind's Eye I bought only yesterdag. I entered a local scrapbook store (Doe@ding) and this was the first collection I saw and I just had to have it! LOVE the colors, the designs ... everything!

And here's the sketch my page is based upon:

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today!! I really appreciate it.

"Dear Lizzy" layout for NSD

National Scrapbook Day is already a week ago and yet I'm going to show you a layout I made for one of the NSD challenges at Two Peas in a Bucket. I chose challenge #1: Either use a photo-inspired product or do something outside of the box with your photos. Closing date for  the challenge is tomorrow: May 12.

Here's the page I made for the challenge:

The photo show my youngest and his niece having break during their day at a survival park in France last year.

The photo inspired products I used are the camera misting template, the Silhouette camera cut and the chipboard camera that came with this Dear Lizzy collection.

Supplies: Dear Lizzy "Neapolitan" collection, TCW misting template, Mister Huey's color mist (taxi) and some Silhouette cuts. cam

And now I'm off to finish another layout for one of the 2Peas challenges, I'll show it to you tomorrow!

Have a fab Saturday and thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
