Mmmmm ice cones!! - Pretty Little Studio

Yesterday, my layout was up on Pretty Little Studio's blog featuring their tabs. As I love to use tabs on my projects, it was a very easy assignment!

Here's what I created:

I’ve used the colourful Neapolitan tabs which were just awesome for this page. They are so colorful and look great wherever you place them! In this case I’ve adhered some of the Neapolitan word stickers (“Root Beer Float Stickers”) on them. Love those!

Also love those ice cone cards!! Almost everything I used comes from the Pretty Little Studio "Neapolitan" collection (in Nederland te koop bij Scrap Plaza), except for the background paper, washi tape (Doodlebug) and the stamps (Scraptastic Club).

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend .... it's fabulous here, it's sunny and warm!

Today is Perfect - Hip Kit Club March challenge

When I saw the Hip Kit Club's mood board for this month's challenge (on Ashley's blog) it inspired me to grab my Maggie Holmes "Styleboard" collection from Crate straight away! I so love this collection and bought almost everything there is.

Here's what I made, a page about my the 16  year old daughter and her then 8 year old niece, both huge 1D fans:

and a few close-ups ... the feather is from Pretty Little Studio and the washi tape & fabric button from Purple Pumpkin:

And this is March's Hip Kit Club mood board (visit their blog for the details):

Thanks for stopping by!! Wishing you an awesome weekend!

Live while we're young - JBS layout

To complete the challenges of the JBS online crop from last weekend we've got until March 31. So that gave me today to finish another challenge. This time I decided on Doris's challenge: "add some current song lyrics to a page and also just a touch of your own handwriting".

If you mention the word "song lyrics" in this house, 1Direction is what comes to mind. So One Direction it is:

The papers are from the JBS October 2013 papercrafting kit: Crate's "Close Knit" plus I added a few goodies from my Purple Pumpkin stash (crochet doily, dotted fabric button, washi tape, tickets).

A few close-ups: for the challenge you had to add some handwriting:

The title is from the song lyrics and created with my Silhouette Cameo:

Purple Pumpkin stuff:

The radio is hand cut from one of the Crate Paper sheets, the washi is from Purple Pumpkin and the gold thingies are from the JBS kit.

Okay this is it for today! Off to walk the dog (she keeps telling me that it's alread past 5 pm, which is the time we normally take a walk).

Hope to see you back soon!!

LOVE - Another Jenni Bowlin layout

As I told you in my last post I've joined the online crop at Jenni Bowlin this weekend and here's a layout I created for one of the other challenges. This challenge is from Amanda Jones and is as follows: "use paint and a stencil" on your page in some way. As almost every papercrafting kit from Jenni Bowlin contains a stencil I've loads of them, so ... easy peasy!

My layout with a photo of Manon in the tunnel below the river "Schelde" in Antwerp, Belgium:

and a close-up of the stencil:

and yet more close-ups:

For this page I've pulled products from several of the JBS papercrafting kits (sorry, can't remember which). I'm really loving these kits. Don't know why exactly, as they are so completely different from the papers I normally use - the cute ones I mean. I guess that might be why, because they are so different :) , but also because they contain so many unique products I never find in other kits.

Thanks for stopping by again! Till next time!

Shine - Jenni Bowlin Studio

Today and tomorrow Jenni Bowlin Studio is hosting an online crop with lots of fun challenges. As their March kit arrived yesterday I decided to put it to good use straight away!!

One of the challenges (Louise Nelson's) was to create a page using cotton thread and paint ... well, I can do that!!

So here's what I made, a page about my lovely daughter.

The papers, flair and Thickers I used are all from the JBS March 2014 papercrafting kit, but a lot of the other bits and pieces come from older JBS kits. I've also added some washi tape, tickets and twine from Purple Pumpkin and a wood veneer piece from AC.

Feel like playing too? Just go to the JBS forum and read all about it.

And this is what the March papercrafting kit looks like:

Thanks for stopping by and have a fab weekend!!

YUMMY! - Pretty Little Studio

I love this week's picture challenge over at Pretty Little Studio! When I saw those ice creams I knew straight away which Pretty Little Studio products I would use: the Neapolitan collection with those gorgeous ice cream cone diecuts!! I really love those! The photo is one of me (again!), taken last year while in France for the summer holidays. (I'm so sorry the color of my face is so "orange", but I'm sitting under an orange umbrella and I've used an Instagram filter for this pic, which made it only worse.)

And a few close-ups:

and this was the picture we got for the challenge:

Isn't it fun?!

Okay this is it for today! I'm going to walk the dog and call it a day! Hope to see you back soon!

Forever - Doodlebug & Purple Pumpkin

For today I've got a layout to share I created when I had a crop with friends a few weeks ago. I used Doodlebug's "Sweetheart" collection which Cynthea from Doodlebug sent me even if my dt term with them was over. She really is the best!! I just love love love (!) this collection, which is a combination of the bright Doodlebug colors and kraft. The photo is a "selfie" of my Cocker Spaniel "Jippie" and me.

The reason I haven't posted the layout yet was because I felt there was still missing something and then my Purple Pumpkin box arrived .... look:

I added the Purple Pumpkin red hearts washi tape and the pink twine and ...

... this fabric button with pink elephant! Isn't she super cute?!! Love Purple Pumpkin's fabric buttons!!

I also love this Doodlebug camera:

I would love it if you would stop by Purple Pumpkin's blog to visit me there!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and hope to see you back soon!! I've got some AWESOME news to share soon!!!

Color Mist tutorial - Pretty LIttle Studio

Today I want to share a fun Pretty Little Studio layout with a simple tutorial. For this page I decided to use the Sand Castle collection and to pull out my yellow inks (which is my favorite ink color by far).

This is the layout I created, a page about my youngest on the beach (isn’t it fun that the tag resembles my photo so much?!)

I thought I would show you how I created the background for this page.

1. I started with a white cardstock sheet and a yellow Mister Huey’s color mist (taxi). To create the drips that appear from under my photo you just hold the cardstock upright and the nozzle of your mist as close to your cardstock as possible and then just push down the top of bottle. Repeat this step a few times, about an inch apart:

2. To create the little ink splatters you unscrew the top of the bottle of color mist and use the “straw” end to sweep little droplets on your page:

3. In case you want large ink splatters as well (not visible on my layout) you can use a bottle of distress stain and drop the “sponge” end of the bottle with a bit of force on your page:

I guess a lot of you are already familiar with these techniques, but for those of you who aren’t, I hope you like it and will give it a try sometimes!

Here’re a few close-ups of my layout, I just LOVE the SAND CASTLE collection!

This is it! Would love to learn what you think!

Thanks for visiting my little blog!
