We Are Family - like for ever January kit

Hello everyone! I noticed I forgot to share this layout I created with the January Woodland kit from "like for ever" kit club. I used one of the four sketches that are always included in the monthly kits. I really love this as I'm a huge fan of sketches!

This is the layout I created:

and this is the sketch I created:

I really loved using this sketch! The choice for this sketch was an easy one as I love triangles! The photo is from Easter last year, when we had my sister and her kids over for a brunch, which was a perfect opportunity to take a pic of all the kids together!

I used only a little bit of patterned paper for this layout. The triangles are all from one sheet of 1Canoe2 paper called ‘Flock‘ and then there’s the piece of paper on which I matted the photo and that’s all the paper I used! The title was created with the awesome gold foam Hazelwood Hazel Thickers from the kit.

For the triangles I used a 3″ square punch and cut all the squares in half. After adhering them to my page I either added a bit of machine stitching or I embellished them with die-cuts and stickers:

One of the last things I added were the triangle enamel dots aren’t they beautiful?!

Last but not least I wrote a bit of journaling and added a few drops of gold foil spray mist. This is it, hope you like it!

For more Woodland kit inspiration please hop over to like for ever's blog! For information about purchasing the kits, click HERE. This link will take you to the "frequently asked questions". It's an English kit club (not American!).

The February "Beep Beep" kit has arrived today and it's sooooo beautiful! Featuring Shimelle's Little By Little collection and Dear Lizzy's Oh Lovely Day collection! LOVE!!! It's already available so hop over to the lfe store if you want to take a look!

Pebbles Valentine's Home Decor

Last week this project was featured on Pebbles blog and I was so excited that I could use the new Valentine’s collection “My Funny Valentine”! I love celebrating Valentine’s Day, whether it’s watching romantic movies, reading romance novels or going out to a restaurant or cinema with my hubby, I love it all! In our hallway I have this little chest of drawers and each holiday or change of season I create a little scene on it. So as soon as February comes in sight I start decorating for Valentine’s Day! Guess where this frame will be placed?!

I started my project by gathering the products I thought I would need, like the 6″x 6″ paper pad, the awesome Thickers and the puffy stickers. The photo frame is from my stash of photo frames which I collect for projects like this.

I chose 5 sheets of paper from the 6″x 6″ paper pad and cut three of them to 4″x 6″, 3.5″x 5.5″ and 3″x 5″ and with the other two I created two labels using my die-cutting machine:

I machine stitched the rectangles together:

The labels were glued together and embellished next, starting with the fabulous matching My Funny Valentine Thickers and some twine:

Next I adhered the gold ampersand from a gold Thickers set  and added two gold puffy hearts from the My Funny Valentine puffy sticker set:

I adhered this set in the center of the rectangles:

For the finishing touch I added a white dotted line around the red label and inserted everything carefully in the photoframe (I’ll add the glass front after photographing my project):

Aren’t the colors and designs of this collection just awesome?!

This is it! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog to take a peek at my project.

Adventure is Waiting - The Cut Shoppe

Hey everyone! Longing for warmer and sunnier days here! So I thought that for my project for The Cut Shoppe I would use photos of warmer times! I used the "The Half of It" cut file to scrap these photos of our trip to New York last year.

The Half Of It cut file I used is one of the newer ones and is so fun to use! The possibilities are endless! I turned the cut file upside down and placed a large circle on top. Then I placed it on a sheet of yellow patterned paper and filled a few of the half circles with pieces of patterned paper in different colors. I machine stitched around the four sides and doodled a line around the circle. Only now was I ready to design the centre of my layout.

I used Shimelle's "Starshine" collection. Love the colors and designs of this collection! Here are a few close-ups of my layout:

The awesome gold letter stickers aren't from Shimelle but from the Confetti collection from Maggie Holmes.

I just love both the chipboard pieces and the transparent stickers in this collection! Love that there's so much variation!

This is it! Don't forget to check out both The Cut Shoppe's blog and the Etsy Store; the blog for lots of awesome inspiration and the Etsy Store for all of Ashley Horton's fabulous cut files!!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Hope you'll have a wonderful rest of the week.

Making Spirits Bright - Pretty Little Studio

For today’s blog post on Pretty Little Studio's blog I created yet another layout with the fabulous Tinsel Town collection. Normally I don’t feel like creating Christmas layouts any more in January, but I just wasn’t ready to put this collection aside. The colors and designs just make me so happy and when I found these photos of my daughter and her friend at one of the famous German Christmas markets in my pile of printed photos I just sat down and got started. Here’s what I created:

I started my page by cutting two large pennants, one out of the Cookies & Milk paper and one from a metallic clear sheet with gold (I adore this one!) and adhered these on a 12"x12" sheet of paper from Crate Paper (as Pretty Little Studio doesn't carry any 12"x 12" papers). I placed the photo on top – no matting needed – and picked one of the many journaling cards to place on the left of the photo. Isn’t this one just perfect? Next I selected a few embellishments: a flair button, a frame, a few die-cuts and in no time the top part of the layout was done!

Next I started on the design of the cluster in the bottom left corner. I wanted to add a second photo and needed a few extras. I knew I wanted to use one of the black tags, which I love (!!) and another one of the fabulous flairs and the rest was easy: a few die-cuts and two little stickers and the cluster was finished!

Last but not least I added a bit of hand-journaling and a few drops of silver color mist.

And here’s a list of all the PLS products I used:

  • Tinsel Town collection: paper: Cookies & Milk; Die-Cuts: Tinsel Town, Twinkle; Tags: Merry; Flair: Wish List; Stickers: Nice List Words, Tree Topper; Journaling: FaLaLa 3×4; Metallic Clear: Season’s Greetings Gold; Frames: Noel.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Wishing you a crafty week!

New Mid Month Sketch Challenge at Stuck?! Sketches!

It's the 15th of the month and that means it's reveal day over at Stuck?! Sketches! For today's sketch I used up some of my precious October Afternoon stash to scrap these photos of me from last Christmas. I'm a huge Outlander fan and my kids bought me the 2nd season of Outlander on dvd. Earlier in December I had already gotten the "All I wish for Christmas ..... " sweater and I decided I really needed to create a layout about these presents, if only to thank my kids (I really have the best kids in the whole world!)!

Such a shame October Afternoon is no more ... but no dwelling on that, on to Laura Whitaker's new sketch!

I have to admit that I often struggle with diagonal sketches. All the while when I was creating my page I had everything straight and only in the last minute did I decide to follow the sketch and to rearrange the whole pile and adhere it all diagonal (don't know if I did the right thing though, if I hadn't stitched it I think I would tear it all loose again and adhere it straight once again, lol).

Here are a couple of close-ups:

The flair buttons are from "A Flair For Buttons" and are the only non-OA products I used.

Soooo loving all the vintage die-cuts and stickers!

And now onto the sponsors for this sketch:
  • Creative Embellishments, who are offering a $25.00 gift certificate to their online store, to one lucky participant!

  •  and Wycinanka, who are offering a beautiful themed prize pack to a second lucky participant!

Apart from these prizes we will also be choosing one scrapbooker from each challenge to guest with us at a later date!

In case you decide to play along with us then please link up your layouts over in the sidebar on Stuck?! Sketches' blog by January 29th 2017, at midnight EST to be in the running for one of our prizes! All prizes will be drawn randomly using Random.org to pick a number.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Wishing you happy crafting!

Hello - like for ever January Woodland kit

Hi everyone! Sharing another layout created with "like for ever" January’s Woodland Kit. I also used one of the exclusive lfe subscriber’s cut files: th globe cut file. The photo is of one of my best friends and me. Yvonne has been my friend for over 30 years now and I hope she continues to be my friend for at least 30 more! When I saw this photo lying on my desk (yes we are wearing the same blouse) I thought the colors were just perfect for this kit! Here’s the layout I created:

Instead of using this entire globe cut file, I only used the globe part and deleted the stand:

I resized the globe so it would fill my entire page:

Next I just cut little pieces of paper from almost all of the sheets in the kit and adhered these behind holes in the globe. The colors in this kit make me so so happy! I proceeded by matting my photo on a piece of the Flock patterned paper and placing one of the Amy Tangerine overlays over the photo (don’t forget to remove the protection before you do this!). I used my stapler to attach the overlay and adhered everything on the right side of my page:

I used the 1Canoe2 Hazelwood die-cuts, stickers and washi tape to embellish around the photo:

Of course I added a bit of hand journaling and stamped the date twice (don’t ask me why, lol):

In the top left corner of my layout I added a few stickers and die-cuts as well:

The pink embroidered circle around the globe and the machine stitching came last as well as the drops of silver color mist.

For more Woodland kit inspiration please hop over to like for ever's blog!

This is it for me! Hope you like it! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

He Loves Pikachu! - The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone!! I'm so happy to be on The Cut Shoppe's blog again today! For today's post I wanted to scrap some Christmas photos, but didn't feel like using Christmas papers anymore. So I thought if I used a Christmas cut file it would be "Christmassy" enough and it would be okay to use a non-Christmas collection to scrap these photos of my youngest son in his brand new Pikachu suit which he got from Santa:

I used the Tree Farm cut file and cut & used all four Christmas trees on my page:

I used the awesome Out Of Line Alpha cut file to cut the word "Pikachu". I soooo love this cut file!

Because of the yellow Pikachu suit I looked for a scrapbook collection with at least one yellow paper in it and found the Rise & Shine collection from Amy Tangerine in my stash. I cut the title from that one yellow sheet of paper and the rest of the layout was built around it.

I wanted colorful Christmas trees, not classic green ones and thought this striped paper was just perfect. I divided the trees horizontally over my page: one on the left, one the right and two in the middle of my layout.

I added lots of bits and pieces from the Rise & Shine collection and lots of random machine stitching. With some silver & yellow drops of Mister Huey's color mist I considered my page done!

Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store for many more fabulous cut files!!

Wishing you a great day!!

Lovely - like for ever January Woodland Kit

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing the first layout I created with January like for ever ‘Woodland‘ kit! What an awesome kit! Just perfect to cheer me up after a very busy (and tiring) Christmas. I don’t know why, but I always feel a tiny bit sad when Christmas is over….

Here’s what I created: a layout with a photo of my sweet niece (taken a few years ago):

I used one of the January cut files: the butterfly page mat. However, instead of cutting it, I used a silver coloured sketch pen to draw it, after resizing it to 8″x 8″.

With my Mister Huey’s watercolour paints I coloured the butterflies pink and light green:

I matted the photo, placed one of the Amy Tangerine foil frames over it, added two die-cuts and adhered all of it on the right side of the butterflies. Next I stapled three flags underneath the photo using a “long arm” stapler:

On the left side of the photo I adhered a card with the image of a butterfly and two sentiments, all of which I cut from the ‘Notes From Hazel‘ sheet. The word ‘lovely’ and the golden heart are die-cuts from the Hazelwood ephemera package:

Last but not least, I cut the extra strips of paper from the bottom of two sheets of paper and added these on the bottom and top of my layout. With a little cluster at the top left corner of my page and some machine stitching my page was done! Hope you like it!

This is it for now. For more kit inspiration please visit the like for ever blog and for details about the kit(club) just hop over to the like for ever website.

A quick image of the January Woodland kit:
