With the November Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook I made 5 layouts; I already posted 3 of them, so here's layout number 4! This page features my youngest and I last August:
I can't believe how fast he's growing up! He used to be my little monkey, but it won't be long and he'll be taller than I am!
A few close-ups:
I really really LOVE this Simple Stories collection! The colors of the Vintage Blessings collection are right up my alley!

Yay for Letter Boards!!!! Let's Count Down!
Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are celebrating today!
Last week I received this awesome box from Pebbles (American Crafts) filled with the new DCWV letter board & several extras! The board came just in time .... I love counting down to the holidays & other celebrations as I love the air of anticipation and the happy feeling surrounding these occasions. The new DCWV letter boards are so perfect for this!
I created a "count down to Thanksgiving" for my Pebbles blog post very quickly. Here's what I did:
I used a few die-cuts and a sticker from the Heart of Home collection to embellish the board a bit more. As the board has a smooth surface it’s easy to stick stickers or a light adhesive tape to it and remove it again later on (although I did make the stickers a little bit less adhesive by sticking them to my jeans a few times first).
The board measures 16″ x 20″ and comes with 188 one inch characters. There are many coordinating products available to pair with the board like hand-lettered words, icons and other additional letter packs. The black 1″ letters were included in the box with the letter board and the pink 2″ letters are an example of a set of extra letters:
I loved playing with my board and my kids did too!
I just love the different looks of the letters and words!
And just because I wanted to play with my board some more I decided to change the text from “count down to Thanksgiving” into “count down to Christmas”. In no time at all I was done:
Aren’t the Christmas icons fun?! This time I added a few die-cuts from the new Pebbles’ Merry Merry collection!
This board is totally addictive! Every time I find myself near it I want to play with it some more! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it! And just for fun I’m adding a quick close-up of the Christmas layout you in the photo next to the letter board:
I created a Christmas tree in the layout using the paper weaving technique and added a photo from last year with my hubby and the kids. I used lots of bits and pieces, all from Pebbles’ Merry Merry collection. Such a fun collection!!
This is it for now. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today and wishing you a happy holiday season!

My Creative Scrapbook November Step-By-Step Tutorial
Hi friends! For My Creative Scrapbook I created this step-by-step tutorial for one of the pages I created with their fantastic November Main Kit (featuring Simple Stories' Vintage Blessings collection).
For this quick and easy layout I decided to "scraplift" one of the layouts I once created for The Cut Shoppe using a digital cut file and I thought it would be fun to show how easy it is to create a similar layout without using any expensive tools like a Silhouette. (You can find my original page here.)
Here's the layout I created for today's blog post:
And here's how I created this page:
1. I chose two patterned papers I wanted to use for the four parts (the papers are double-sided so I only needed two) and selected a bowl with the right diameter from my cupboard to create a circle:
2. Using a pencil I drew a circle around the bowl and using a pair of scissors I hand cut the circle:
3. Next I cut the circle into 4 equal parts and put them aside. I repeated this step until I had the four desired parts:
4. Using a simple hand punch I punched a heart shape from one of the parts. It's totally up to you if you want to punch other shapes in the other parts as well, but I only punched this one heart shape in the top right part:
5. For my next step I have to admit I did use an expensive tool: my sewing machine. I thought about hand stitching the patterned paper parts but prefer the look of machine stitching. I stitched the parts not quite in the middle of the cardstock background paper, but rather a bit to the left as I wanted my photo on the right.
And now the ground work is done. The next step is adding the photo and embellishing!!
6. I matted the photo and placed it on the right side of the circle and added lots and lots of die-cuts, chipboard pieces and stickers from the kit. There are soooo many bits and pieces in this kit that the possibilities are endless!
Here are a few close-ups:
7. Last but not least I stamped the date (twice) and added drops of color mist and I was done!!
I really love how this turned out and hope you do too!! If you have any questions don't hesitate to write them in the comments and I'll definitely get back to you!
Here's another quick look at the November Main Kit, the one I used to create this page. I really love that Pam always includes complete collections in the kits, like this month it's the Vintage Blessings collection from Simple Stories, and also adds extra's that coordinate perfectly with the contents of the kit (in this kit a few papers from the Heart of Home collection from Pebbles, word stickers from the Warm and Cozy collection from Pebbles and the buttons from Jillibean Soup).

My Creative Scrapbook November Reveal Day!!
Hey friends! It's the 5th of the month and that means it's reveal day over at My Creative Scrapbook! This month's Main kit features the "Vintage Blessings" collection from Simple Stories. Such an awesome collection!! I created 5 layouts and today I'm sharing the first page: my daughter on the day we bought her white and pink bicycle:
My daughter had a very old bike and then one day when we passed a shop we saw this fun bike outside the shop. We decided on the spot this was the bike she needed! Isn't it a fun one?! This Simple Stories collection with the beautiful photo of the bicycle was exactly what I needed to scrap this photo!
I also adore the paper with all the little birdies!! <3 nbsp="" p="">The November Main Kit also contains the packet with all the stickers sheets, which I really love as I'm always looking for little word stickers to include in my pages!

Check out the main kit contents, awesome right?

Pebbles Heart of Home Thankful Layout
I just can’t believe how fast this year is flying by! Halloween has come and gone and now it’s already November! I created today’s layout with Thanksgiving in mind. Here in The Netherlands, we don’t celebrate like in the US, but being thankful is something we can do everywhere in the world. With that in mind, here’s my thankful layout. I used the beautiful Heart of Home collection by Jen Hadfield, which I just can’t get enough of! I love the soft colors and all the golden touches.
When I got started on this page I knew which photo I wanted to use. It’s the photo of my husband and our three kids taken on Father’s Day last June. I adore this photo and it depicts what I’m most grateful for: a loving husband and three healthy, adorable, smart, kind, awesome kids! With this photo as my starting point, I gathered the papers and embellishments I wanted to use:
The journaling on my layout is written in Dutch, but it’s about the fact that I find it a real shame we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in The Netherlands. There is so much to be thankful for and I would love to have one day in the year where we all take time off to actually realize this. Before gluing my layout together, I printed my journaling directly onto a piece of patterned paper using my laptop with MS Word and my Canon printer.
Now that I had my paper with the journaling, I started adhering all the bits and pieces onto my white cardstock background. Of course I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges of my page & grey card with the flowers and the sentiment (cut from the Heart of Home paper). For a little extra dimension, I used a few Sticky Thumb dimensional adhesive foam dots to adhere the tag beneath my photo and the heart die-cut:
I treated the flowers of the journaling card with my “Wink of Stella brush”. I love the glitter look! It fits the mood of this layout perfectly.
The title was added last. I love the pink color of these Thickers and definitely needed to include one of the words of this set. One of my very favorite embellishments on this layout is the gold 3D butterfly with the word “love” across it (from the Heart of Home dimensional stickers). It’s so delicate and beautiful!
I really love how this Heart of Home Thankful layout turned out. Hope you do too.
