Beautiful Day - JustNick & Felicity Jane

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing the layout that was up on JustNick's blog yesterday, created with two of Nicole's one-of-a-kind cut files!

Here's the layout I created for today's post. The photo I used is of my girl looking out over the sea and was taken during our vacation in Spain last May. I love how peaceful this photo looks.

For this page I chose one of the butterfly cut files "Butterfly Background", which I totally adore:

And the "Valentine" cut file, from which I used the word "love":

I used the "Brie" collection from Felicity Jane for my layout and cut the butterfly background from the pink "Gradient Grid & Stripe" sheet. I just love the ombre effect on this paper.

Before adhering the butterflies to my background, I used a Nuvo blender brush and a pink ink pad to give the white cardstock a little bit of color and I also added a few drops of pink Tattered Angels mist.

Here are a few close-up images of my layout. Of course I had to use the chipboard circle with the saying "without change there would be no butterflies" which was perfect for my page (although I always thought the saying was the other way around "without butterflies there would be no change" ...? )

The word "love" was cut from a dotted piece of cardstock and then adhered to the photo using my tiny attacher:

I really love how this layout turned out. I hope you do too!

Thank you so much for stopping by and before you go, be sure to check out all the butterfly cut files in the shop!

Bring on Summer - JustNick Studio

Happy Saturday everyone!! Here's another Summer layout created for JustNick Studio using the "Bring on Summer" cut files and the Sunshine & Happiness collection from Simple Stories. We had been having a couple of exceptionally warm and dry weeks here in The Netherlands and that called for lots of ice cream eating!

I used a photo of the boys and I having an ice cream on our walk through the city centre here in Delft. There's this lovely Italian ice cream shop in the market square where we love to try all the different flavors they sell (which are many!).

I just love all the different cut files in the "Bring on Summer" set and used both the sun, the ice cream and the sentence.

The reason I chose this cut file set was the ice cream cut file of course. I cut the cone once, but the ice cream ball three times. I placed these on top of each other and machine stitched them together:

Next I cut out the sun, adhered this behind the ice cream and stitched between the rays:

I matted the photo and adhered it on top of the ice cream. I cut out the title "Bring on Summer" and stapled it on top of the ice cream & photo:

I decorated the rest of the layout with lots of die-cuts, chipboard shapes, stickers and stamps and wrote a bit of journaling in the bottom right corner and was done!

I had so much fun creating this, hope you like it too!

Thank you so much for stopping by! And if you're looking for this cut file or for other summer cut files then please hop over to the JustNick shop!

Have a great day!

Last Day of School - My Creative Scrapbook August Main Kit step-by-step

Hey scrappy friends! Today I'm sharing a layout I created for My Creative Scrapbook with their August Main Kit and a fun tip for the Thickers that are included in this month's kit.

This is the page I created:

And this is the August Main kit I used. Loving the Bloom collection from Simple Stories and the few extra papers from Kaisercraft & American Crafts!

In the kit you can see the set of white Thickers I used for the title on my page. As my background is also white I didn't want the title to be white as well and decided to color them in colors matching my photo and the papers:

I used markers from Stampin'Up from my stash and they worked really well.

I colored the letters while leaving them on their original sheet, so I was sure I wouldn't accidentally color my background paper. I adhered them on my page after they had dried completely.

To decide where I wanted the title I used the Tickers guide from American Crafts. The papers and the photo were still lying "loose'' on my background page so I was able to move them around a bit before deciding where everything should go. I did however staple the papers together, which made the arranging/rearranging easier.

When I had decided where everything should go I adhered the papers, photo and title and embellished with bits and pieces from the kit.

Last but not least I added the machine stitching and some paint drops and I was done!

Don't you just love this kit?! At first I thought I would use this kit with all it's flower elements for photos of my daughter, but now I'm glad I used a photo of one of my sons as well, as it's just perfect!

For more information about the kit hop over to the website! Or if you want to see more projects created with this kit then please visit the DT gallery

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you happy scrapping!

The photos of my daughter standing next to a field of tulips were just what I needed for this kit!

What I also love about this month's kit is the stamp set that is included! Here's a photo of the August Main kit:

Fun right?!
