Layouts Summer & Stay Cool | My Creative Scrapbook July Kit

Hi friends, happy Saturday!! Today I'm sharing two other layouts I created with the July Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I made 5 layouts with this kit and I have so much left of it, I could easily have done a few more, but alas I had to go into the office and didn't find the time to do so.

Here's the layout called "Summer" using also one of the free July cut files from MCS.

The photos were printed with my new Sprocket printer. The quality of the prints is not overwhelming, but they will do. For a travel album the are perfect and that's why I bought the printer in the first place.

Here are a few close-ups:

I said it before, I really LOVE this Bella Blvd collection, it has so many fun designs and it's so colorful!

Here's another layout I made: Stay Cool

It's a shame you can't see the white glitter Thickers very well; irl the layout looks much better.

My Creative Scrapbook | July Main Kit | Our Story - a step-by-step

Hello friends, today I'm sharing a step-by-step for the "Our Story" layout which I created for My Creating Scrapbook using their July Main kit, filled with the Indigo & Ivy collection from Pink Paislee.

Even though I find this Pink Paislee collection very beautiful I struggled a little with it. Usually I tend to choose more vibrant colors for my projects, but I do like how my layouts turned out in the end (and I do love that this collection forced me to try something out of my comfort zone!). In case of this layout I simply added more color by painting the white cardstock background a little pink and light blue, which added the for me necessary color.

Here's the layout I'm talking about:

Except for the July Main kit I also used one of the July cut files (free for members) designed my especially for My Creative Scrapbook.

I got started on my layout by assembling all the materials I thought I might be needing:

including my Gelatos and the cut file:

I got started by painting the white cardstock with large pink and light blue stripes. I chose the two Gelato colors I wanted to use and drew a few lines on a Tim Holtz mat and added a little water. Using a large brush I painted the pink stripes first and when those had dried a little, I painted the light blues stripes in between:

The cut file was simply placed on top:

Using my little Sprocket printer I printed the three photos I wanted to include in the layout and added those to my page. Two of the photos I matted on two tags and one on a piece of patterned paper. I tucked a few die-cuts in between and tied a bit of twine to the tags:

Also included in the kit is a set of beautiful golden words of which I chose one for my layout:

When I was almost done I added a few drops of paint, stamped the date and some machine stitching. Here are a few close-ups of some details:

I really love all the gold accents in this collection.

To complete the blog post is here a photo of the July Main kit:

My Creative Scrapbook | July Creative Kit | Step by Step Bella Blvd layout

Hello friends, on the My Creative Scrapbook blog I'm sharing one of the summer layouts I created with the My Creative Scrapbook July Creative kit and a little step-by-step. I thought I would share it here too. I'm so very in love with this month's Creative kit, filled with the Splash Zone collection from Bella Blvd (one of my favorite manufacturers!).

Here's the layout I made:

The photo I used is from our cruise last May and I thought it was perfect for this collection. The bright colors of the photo match the colors of this collection so good.

Here's a step-by-step of how I created this layout:
I started with punching a whole lot of 2" circles and because the paper is double sided I had circles with many different patterns.

Next I cut the circles in 4 equal parts:

And arranged these in whole circles again and placed them in two vertical rows: one on the right and one on the left side of my background cardstock:

After adhering them with a little bit of adhesive I machine stitched them to the background cardstock:

Using a large blender brush I colored the white part between the rows of circles with fuchsia colored stamping ink:

These laser cut chipboard words from Creative Embellishments are also included in the kit and I thought one of the "splish, sploosh or splash" words could be used on my page. As the bare words left a bit of a black stain on my hands and paper I thought it best to paint them. I used some spray ink to color them.

After matting the photo I placed it on the left row of circles and selected one of the journaling cards to accompany it:

Next I added a few Bella Blvd chipboard pieces and cardstock die-cuts:

The word "Splash" and the journaling came next, as well as a few ink drops and with this the layout is finished!

Here are a few close-ups of my layout:

I really love how this turned out and hope you do too!

Hello BDAY | Jillibean Soup

Hi friends! Today I did some scrapping just for me and it just felt really good! I chose a sketch from the archives of PageMaps, the "Shades of Color" collection from Jillibean Soup and two photos of my oldest son and my hubby celebrating their combined birthdays and got started:

Here's what I made:

And this is the PageMaps sketch I used, one from October 2018:

I really loved this design and the photos I wanted to scrap were the perfect size. So the choice was easy. Here are a few close-ups:

I adore the colors in this collection from Jillibean Soup! They made my photos really pop!

My Creative Scrapbook July Kits Reveal and two layouts

Hello friends! I just realised I hadn't posted the My Creative Scrapbook July kits on my blog yet and thought I would do this now. This month Pam sent me both the July Main kit as well as the July Creative kit.

Let me start with the July Creative kit. Here's one of the five layouts I created with it:

I just adore the colors and designs of this Bella Blvd collection Splash Zone. They match every possible summer photo I've got. This is a photo from a looooong time ago (how time flies!).

The kit is very complete, with papers, carstock die-cuts & stickers and chipboards from the Splash Zone collection from Bella Blvd as well as American Crafts letter stickers and laser cut chipboard letters from Creative Embellishments.

Here's a photo of the July Creative Kit:

Next I'm also sharing a layout created with the July Main kit. This kit is filled with the Pink Paislee "Indigo & Ivy" collection.

Here's the first layout of the four I made:

and a few close-ups:

To be honest, I struggled a bit with this collection. The colors are a bit too sombre for me but I have to say I'm happy with how this page turned out.

Here's a photo of the July Main kit:
