Okay, so I'm behind ... that doesn't mean I'm not going to finish it! No way! (this is me, talking to myself, LOL). Ella Publishing - Thank You Cards

Yay!! Ella Publishing asked us (Doodlebug & its designers) to participate in "THANK YOU THURSDAY" with the help of their fabulous e-book "31 Thank You Cards".

We all created one or more cards based on one of the cards from Ella Publishing's e-book, which we got to choose ourselves.
Here are the cards I made. First this one, made with the very new "Hello Spring" collection which only just arrived on my doorstep:

and this is the card from Ella Publishing's e-book I chose to base my card upon:

and then I made this one, using the "Cake and Ice Cream" collection :

and that's based upon this card from Ella Publishing's e-book:

Hope you like them!

For more inspiration and a chance to WIN one of the copies of Ella Publishing's e-book visit Doodlebug's blog and all the blogs of the other DB designers!  But also check out the cute "thank you" cards the Ella Publishing team created. You can win a great pile of Doodlebug goodies on their blog too!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Hit the road!

Omdat het vandaag de 3e woensdag van de maand is is vanmorgen de nieuwe schetschallenge bij de Dutch Dares gepubliceerd!! Hij is weer zo leuk! Moet je kijken:

And here's the new Dutch Dares sketch challenge:

leuk he?

This is my take on the sketch. I used the Nook's March scrapbook kit, which is filled with "Miss Caroline" from MME (absolutely awesome), the butterfly is from Dusty Attic. De photos are of my youngest having fun with his niece.

So, if you feel like scrapping why not use the sketch? Don't forget to post a link to your layout at the Dutch Dares blog, sketch 49! Who knows, maybe you'll win this month's RAK or will you be our next guest designer. This dare is open to everyone, national and international!!

Bedankt voor het langskomen en tot snel!

Hugs,
Monique

Published!

Yesterday, my scrap buddy Jules emailed me this photo of February's UK's biggest-selling scrapbook magazine, issue 62.... and you know why? Because I'm in it! The layout in the middle "This is Magical" is mine (supplies: American Crafts)!

It's such a shame the magazine isn't for sale in The Netherlands because I would love to buy it every now and again, BUT right now my hubby is in London and promised to have a look and see if he could find it!

This is it for now! Thanks for stopping by!!

Geslaagd!

Today our youngest passed his A-swimming test!! It "only" took him one year of one hour swimming lessons, once a week!!  Okay and now test B!!

WTG buddy!!!! We're proud of you!! xxxxx

Have a fab weekend everyone!! (I know I have .... I got happy e-mail today!!)

Monique

Doodles Sketch {by me!}

This month Doodlebug is having a sketch challenge too!! If you decide to play you can win an entire DB collection of your choice!

The sketches are designed by Jessy (card sketch) and by me (layout sketch).

This is the sketch:

and this is my take on it (you can find it HERE on Doodlebug's blog), however the DT had an extra challenge: we had to use at least 75% green on our layout .... (it's St. Patrick's Day on March 17, in case you were wondering why, LOL).

My take on this week's subject is a layout about our own "St. Patrick's Day". As my husband is called "Patrick" and because he turned 50 last year, we called his birthday: "St. Patrick's Day"!!

Supply List: Patterned Paper: Petite Prints, Colorwheel, Welcome Home and Bon Apetit; Diecuts: Birthday Celebration and Welcome Home; Doodle-Pops: Kaleidoscope; Sticker: Headlines "Celebrate"; Cardstock Alpha Stickers: Jack & Jill; Doodle Twine

If you decide to play, create a card or a layout based on one of the sketches and link it to THIS blogpost at Doodlebug's blog!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog again today!

Monique

Life is a PARTY!

"Let's Party' is the new March dare at the Dutch Dares! I loved this idea for the dare as it gives you so many possibilities to choose from! I decided not to scrap those numerous birthday photos, but go for something else entirely. I chose these photos of Manon (and Tim in the background) as they capture her personality so perfectly ... to her, life is just one, big PARTY!!

Here's what I made:

The papers I used are from My Little Shoebox .... colorful so just perfect for these photos (and for me!).

If you want to join us and create a page with your party photos too, don't hesitate! We would love to see what you come up with!!! Don't forget to link your page to the DD blog as you'll be entered to win a fab RAK!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!!!

Monique

Doodlebug Mini Album & Giveaway! - CLOSED!

Mini albums are definitely my very favorite projects. The reason I don't create more of them is that they take so much time. However, this time I just couldn't resist .... Doodlebug has this fabulous collection of chipboard mini albums "Plain and Simple" in all different shapes and sizes and they were waiting to be used!

Last October the five of us spent a week in New York in a awesome hotel on Times Square. Needless to say we had the time of our lives! As soon as we got home I knew I wanted to make a mini album about this trip and now I did!!

This is the mini album I chose: Plain and Simple Collection, Layered 4 x 7 Chipboard Album:
And this is my end result (if you click on the images they will be larger):

Aren't the colors fabulous? Every time I look at it, I have to smile! :) :) :) :) :)

Let me show you the separate pages:

And these are the supplies I used (quite a lot!):
Chipboard Mini Album: Plain and Simple Collection, Layered 4 x 7; Patterned Paper: Surprise Party, Colorwheel, Bon Appetit, Sweet Cakes, Monster Mania, Classic and Petite Prints; Cardstock: Crushed Velvet; Alpha Stickers: Candy Shoppe, Shin-Dig; Die Cuts: Monster Mania, Colorwheel, Sweet Cakes, Bon Appetit; Stickers: Birthday Celebration, Sweet Cakes, Monster Mania, Welcome Home & Headlines; Fancy Frills: Monster Mania, Sweet Cakes, Welcome Home; Doodle-Pops: Red, White & Blue; Sugar Coated Brads; Doodle Twine: Ladybug, Ribbons.

In case you're wondering ... the key ring is from the M&M Store, which was situated right across the street from our hotel.

And now about the GIVEAWAY .....  The only things you have to do are: become a follower of my blog (if you aren't already) and leave a comment here and at Doodlebug's blog! That's it! You have until Friday March 9, 5am (MST). The winner will be posted on Doodlebug's blog on Friday afternoon.

Good luck everyone and thank you soooo much for visiting!

Hugs,
Monique

My Little Shoebox projects

My Little Shoebox is having a DT Call right now and as I LOVE their lines (the colors, the designs, everything) I thought I would give it a try!

They asked for a layout, a card and a project. Here's what I made:

A layout "Sew Cute":

A layout about Manon and her friends. The photos was taken a few years ago ... I can't believe how young they all look! (especially without the make-up, LOL!).

Supplies: My Little Shoebox "Sew Cute" line & MLS overlay "Flying High", chipboard letters and mini letter stickers also by MLS. Flowers by Petaloo and pearls by Inkido.

Then I made this card:

Really love the colors! Also used the "Sew Cute" line here. The twine is from Doodlebug.

And for the project I chose this little vase/house I made a while ago, but which I still like a lot:

I  used a mix of older lines for this one. Love the sheep! He looks so cute!

I found it soooo hard to choose between the projects. I made a few other projects with MLS products as well (obviously, as I love their stuff!) and still like those too. What do you think .... was my choice good, or would you have gone either for this MINI ALBUM or for this DOORHANGER? (if you click on the words you'll arrive at the blogposts where these projects are shown).

Well, wish me luck! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Hugs,
Monique
