Hello Today | JustNick Studio

Hello friends! Today I thought I'd share this sunny layout with you, which I created with the new March cut file "Daisy Background" from JustNick Studio and some Dear Lizzy papers and embellishments.

I love to use background cut files and this beautiful daisy background cut file is one my new favorites! I cut it from a smooth white AC cardstock and backed a few of the flowers with some patterned paper. I love to leave a few of the flowers "open" and a few of them with patterned paper behind them.

Here's the layout I created:

and this is the "Daisy Background" cut file I used:

Here are a few close-ups: except for adhering patterned paper behind some of the flowers I also added either a tiny sticker or an enamel dot to the hearts of the flowers.

I used a photo of "my boys" and I from last year's summer vacation. I really love how this turned out and hope you like it too!

For more flower or background cut files or any other cut file don't forget to visit the JustNick store!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you happy crafting!

Here Comes Trouble - like for ever kit club

Hi everyone, Monique here sharing another layout I created with the fabulous February Beep Beep Kit. For this layout I selected Dear Lizzy's beautiful Up & Away paper and a photo of my youngest son who’s showing me his new football shoes. I saved the paper I loved most till last but now I definitely wanted to use it and although the colours aren’t really colours for a boy I decided I was going to use it anyway. Here’s what I did:

I started my layout by piercing a heart shape in my white cardstock and (hand)punching lots of hearts from the Up & Away paper. I filled the pierced heart with the punched hearts, except for the space I had reserved for my photo:

When I had finished adhering all the hearts and put the (matted) photo with the journaling cards and tags in place, I hand stitched the pierced heart with yellow embroidery thread.

Next I studied the sheet of Thickers looking for a word that I could use for my title and discovered the word “trouble” on it… I knew straight away what my title would be! After finding the right spot for the title I adhered the fox die-cut (soooo cute!), the green word sticker and wrote a bit of journaling.

I also stapled a word flag to the photo and gave the cute bear a puffy camera:

he drops of silver color mist (Mister Huey’s) came last.

This is it! Hope you like it! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Happy Life - Like For Ever Kit Club

Hi, it's me again! I wanted to share the first layout I created with the February Beep Beep kit from "like for ever". I had so much fun playing with this kit! All the papers (Shimelle & Dear Lizzy) are so gorgeous, I really had trouble choosing the papers I was going to use for this first layout! My eyes kept going back to the Lil’ Bit Lovely paper (the one with the chevrons), so I decided to go with that one. What helped was that this paper matched the colours in my photo perfectly. I also used one of this month’s sketches (I’m a huge fan of sketches, so I want to use at least one of Laura Rumble’s awesome sketches every month!). Here’s what I created:

And this is the sketch I used:

I did make a few adjustments, like for example at the bottom of the layout … I really tried to keep the space “open”, but I just couldn’t do it, I had to fill it. I started by adding one of those tear strips that are added to all the sheets in this collection, but that wasn’t enough. In the end I used the part of the paper that I had cut off the top; I turned it around and adhered it right above the dark blue strip of paper. I tucked a bit of yellow patterned paper behind it as well, so it matched with what I had done at the top.

The photo I used was taken only last month. The kids were all wearing clothes in the same colour and didn’t even do this on purpose. I made them sit down and pose, which didn’t work of course. I took 20 photos and this was the best, lol. But I’m happy with it, especially because it matches this kit so well! I matted the photo on two pieces of patterned paper and added lots of die-cuts and stickers.

Here are a few close-ups:

ust adore those puffy icon stickers and would love to hoard them! But I realize that that would be a shame so I forced myself to use them. What I also love is that the Thickers come in two colours: in black and in white and you can choose which colour fits your page best.

The Dear Lizzy die-cuts in this kit are so cute, like that camera and the tag with the bike. Just adorable!

After a bit of machine stitching and a few drops of ink (not quite sure about those to be honest) I was done! Hope you like it.

Here's a photo of the wonderful February Beep Beep kit:

Stuck?! Sketches October 1st Reveal

Hello everyone! As it's October we've got a brand new sketch for you at Stuck?! Sketches! I always love Laura's sketches and was so happy she decided to "keep" me on the team for another term. Below is my take on the new sketch and if you want to see what the new team created just hop over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog and be amazed!

I used the Day Dreamer collection from Dear Lizzy which I had been hoarding for quite some time, but I decided it was high time I used it!

I don't know why but I have a penchant for flair buttons. I add them to almost all of my pages. Somehow they just add that little extra my layouts need.

And here's the new sketch, isn't it super fun?!

May Arts Ribbon, who are offering a $25.00 gift certificate to their online store:
and

Heartfelt Creations, who are also offering a $25.00 gift certificate to their online store:
and we will also choose one guest designer per challenge!

I hope you'll decide to play along with us!! If you do then please link up your layouts over in the sidebar on the Stuck?! Sketches blog by October 29th 2016 at midnight EST to be in the running for one of our prizes! All prizes will be drawn randomly using Random.org to pick a number.
