Bella Blvd Newsletter!

Tomorrow, Wednesday August 15, Bella Blvd's newsletter is going up and guess whose layout is in it??? Wohoo!! Thanks Laura for finding one of my layouts once again! Can you believe it's the 3rd time I'm in Bella Blvd's newsletter? The first time was in August 2010, the second in October 2011 and now in August 2012 again!!

See the sneak in the right bottom corner? That's my layout! I don't know if I'm allowed to show it before the actual newsletter is up, so I'd better wait another day ...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Up in the Trees card set

If you're here for my "Jenni Bowlin" give-away then click HERE, you have until August 15 to enter!

Last month I made a set of 5 cards with My Little Shoebox' collection "Up in the Trees" which I haven't shown you yet. I really love this line, the colors are so soft and the designs are so versatile.

Here they are:

1. For the "Hurray" card I used the roll-up flowers NOT rolled-up. Love the result!

2. For the "Sweet" card I layered 6 different kinds of paper of which the white cardstock is embossed. And in this case I did roll-up the roll-up flower! The centre of the flower is a bead from my stash.

3. For the "Love" card I used the negative space that was left when I had punched some hearts for the “just beacause” card I'll show you next.

4. My "Just Because" card:  How I love to pull out my dies when I’m making cards! And doesn’t the bird look sweet on that bicycle?

5. And last but not least an "Hello" card: I love to use the roll-up flowers not “rolled-up”, just stack them on top of each other with some foam adhesive.

And these were my cards, hope you liked what you saw!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Doodlebug { Door Hanger }

Hi all!!

This week Doodlebug's design team was challenged to use a card of our choice from their terrific “Create-A-Card” collection and create something other than “just” a card. So that’s what I did and I created this darling little Door Hanger:

Let me show you how I created this Door Hanger:

1. Start with assembling your supplies:

Supplies needed: Create-A-Card (slim filigree assortment), Crushed Velvet Cardstock, La-Di-Dot Cardstock, scraps of patterned paper (I used Petite Prints, Sweet Cakes and Classic), Doodle-Pops (So Tweet), Cardstock Alphabet Stickers (Shin-Dig), Boutique Brads (Birthday Assortment), Doodle Twine (Primary Assortment) and some buttons.

2. Assemble your tools:

Tools: Trimmer, Circle Punch (2 ½”), Coluzzle and pencil.

3. Take your card, flip open and measure the width. Trim a strip of your La-Di-Dot crushed velvet cardstock just a fraction smaller than the card.

4. Use your circle punch to punch a 2 ½” hole in your strip of crushed velvet cardstock (position your punch at the top of the strip, if you do it from the side the sides will be too small).

5. Flip the card over and draw a circle on the back of your card (using the circle you just punched) like this:

6. Use your Coluzzle to cut out the circle from your card:

7. Decorate the strip of crushed velvet cardstock BEFORE you adhere it to your card base (so the Door Hanger won’t have brads etc sticking out the back!). Then when you’re finished decorating adhere the strip to your card base and you’re done! Easy Peasy!

Don't you just LOVE Doodlebug??? I get so happy when I see these bright colors and designs!! I feel so lucky to be part of their design team :):):)

Can you guess who the door hanger is for??? "Keep Out and Stay Out"??? Well, for Manon of course! She doesn't want her annoying little brothers in her room .... LOL!! (it's a good thing the boys don't read my blog!)

Our sweet doggie!

This time around, the challenge at "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" (AFSC) is to scrap about a pet. It was encouraged to scrap about a pet from our childhood or youth, but as Jippie is not well right now she's so much on my mind I couldn't bring myself to scrap about another pet.

Here's what I made:

Supplies: April 2012 papercrafting kit from Jenni Bowlin and a few embellies from my own stash.

Hope you like it!

Don't forget to hop over to AFSC blog for more pet layouts, the designers worked miracles!! (and maybe to play along as well????).

This is it for now, thanks for stopping by and I'll post more about the promissed give-away this weekend!
Hugs,
Monique

We're back!!

Maybe you didn't notice, but I've been away, LOL! Like so many others we've been on holiday for the last few weeks! We spent 3 weeks in the south of France and had a marvelous time! For years on end we spend our summer holidays in the beautiful Cevennes, where we enjoy the countryside, the quaint villages, the sun, the sunflowers, the sea/river/swimmng pool and so much more.

Here are a few shots for a short impression:
