Another Like For Ever Layout

Hey friends, quickly sharing another layout I created with the October Harmony kit from Like For Ever. When I saw Maggie Holmes' Gather papers I knew I wanted to scrap a few older photos of my daughter. When Manon was young I didn't scrapbook yet so I have only a few scrapbook layouts of the time she was little.

Here's what I created, using these super cute photos of her attending classic ballet lessons:

And a few close-ups:

I took me a while to find these photos, but I thinks it was worth it. Really happy with the result.

Thank you so much for stopping by and wishing you a crafty Sunday!

Merry! - Doodlebug Petite Prints & Here Comes Santa Claus

Hi everyone!! Happy Friday!! I'm so excited to share this rainbow colored Petite Prints Xmas layout with you! It was on Doodlebug's blog last Wednesday and today I want to share it here as well.

I adore the new Doodlebug Gingham-Linen look of this Petite Prints collection and I think it's my new favorite Petite Prints collection ever! I love all the colors in this "rainbow" collection and wanted to use ALL of them, so I did! Except for the "Petite Prints" collection I also used some "Here Comes Santa Claus" embellishments to complete my layout.

Here's what I created:

This layout came together so fast! For the centre of my layout I cut two red and one white circles using the Coluzzle circle cutter. Next I grabbed the 6"x 6" Gingham-Linen Petite Prints paper pad and a hand punch (yes, no digital cut files at all this time!) and punched 21 Christmas trees, one from (almost) every page:

I arranged all the trees around the centre circles and decorated them with both shiny and matted Sprinkles and added my photo and the rest of the embellishments. Never before did I finish a layout so quickly! A few die-cuts, stickers and a paper clip from the Here Comes Santa Claus collection, some machine stitching and I was done!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I cant't wait to see what you'll create with Doodlebug's Petite Prints collection! Wishing you a great day!

Delayed - Like For Ever October Kit

Hi everyone! A while ago I discovered the "Like For Ever" Kit Club, based in the UK, whose kits I really really like! I decided to order the October "Harmony" kit, which contains a lot of product from the fab Maggie Holmes' "Gather" collection! Today I want to share the first layout I created with it. The page is based on one of the sketches that was included in the kit.

The photo was taken last June when we traveled back from New York to Amsterdam and you guessed it right ... we had a couple of hours delay. We didn't mind at all and spent a couple of fun hours at the airport, drinking Starbucks and having our nails done.

Here are a few close-ups of my page:

And I thought I'd show you how I created the pinkish watercolor background:

1. I chose 2 different pinks from my Gelatos box and drew a few lines on my cutting mat:

2. I added some water using a little mister:

3. Next I used a plastic package from one of the items in the kit and placed this on top of the wet Gelatos mix:

4. I placed this plastic bag on my background paper, thus transferring the pink watercolor paint. What I really like about this technique is that it doesn't make my paper so terribly wet and because of that it doesn't wrinkle all that much!

5. This last step I repeated several times until I was satisfied with the result:

Fun right? Normally my pages tend to be rather "clean" except for a few paint drops here and there, but once in a while I like to use a bit more (watercolor) paint.

And last but not least, let me show you a photo of the October "Harmony" kit:

Featuring Maggie Holmes' Gather collection with complimentary elements by Pinkfresh Studios, Heidi Swapp and American Crafts, each kit uncludes:

Ten 12x12" double sided patterned papers (Magical, Beautiful, My Story, Happy Place, Blush, Jane, Joyful, Pure Joy, Pinnacle, Pallisades) | Three 12x12" Textured Cardstock (Seafoam, Marine, Mustard) | One pack Gather Together Thickers | One pack Indigo Hills Chipboard Hearts | One pack Gather Accent Stickers  | One pack Heidi Swapp Puffy Phrase Stickers  | One pack American Crafts DIY Shop Metallic Sequins

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek at my page. Stay tuned as the next layout is also ready to be uploaded to the blog!

Have a great day/evening!

Pebbles Fall Banner using the Woodland Forest Collection

Hello friends! A few days ago my DIY project was on Pebbles' blog: a fun and easy banner to bring an Autumn feel to any room! As Autumn is my favorite season of the year I love creating projects like these to brighten up my home. For today’s project I chose the awesome Woodland Forest collection with the beautiful patterns and cute die-cuts.

To create the six pennants I chose six different patterned papers and three different colored sheets of cardstock. The 6 pennants each measure 7.5″ x 5.5″.

Before adhering the patterned papers to the cardstock pieces I embellished and machine stitched them first. I cut the word “Fall” from the Apple Cider sheet, using the mini alphabet punch board from We R Memory Keepers:

This was so much fun and so super easy to do! The punch board comes with an instruction booklet with instructions on how to create each letter of the alphabet, plus the & and the ! and the numbers 0 – 9.

Once the letters and the embellishments were in place I assembled all the pieces of the banner and used some orange colored twine to string them together. I really love the result!

Here are close-ups of the separate pennants. I adore the cute die-cuts in the Woodland Forest collection!

I hope you like this DIY Fall project and can’t wait to see yours if you decide to make one too.

Happy Autumn - The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone! It's the weekend and time for a blog post! Last Tuesday this Fall themed layout was up on The Cut Shoppe's blog and I thought I'd share it here today. I scrapped this photo of my kids, which I took when we went for a little walk in a nearby park. I used the The Cut Shoppe's "leaf pile" cut file and the Attwell collection from Fancy Pants.

I already knew that I wanted to use this cut file as I had been eyeing it for a while:

I love to use background cut files for my pages and this is definitely one of my favorites!!

And here's a close-up of my page:

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my layout! If you like to use background cut files on your layouts as well, you'll find this one, as well as many other, in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store!

Wishing you a great day!
