Stitching tutorial - Pretty Little Studio

Hi everyone! For today I created this fun and simple tutorial for Pretty Little Studio: I’m going to show you how I create my favorite hand stitched titles. Here’s my page where I hand stitched the word “girl”. I used the fabulous “Nature Walk” collection which I found very fitting for my photo.

Voor vandaag heb ik een simpele tutorial voor jullie die ik voor Pretty Little Studio heb gemaakt. Ik laat hieronder zien hoe ik de gestikte titel heb gemaakt. Voor mijn layout heb ik PLS's "Nature Walk" collectie gebruikt, die ik - gezien de foto van Manon met die pandamuts - wel geschikt vond.

First I basically designed my page, so I knew where I wanted my title and how large it should be. For the background I used the “Sil. 3# Numbers Cut File” from the digital section of Pretty Little Studio’s online store. I typed the title in Microsoft Word, font “Scriptina” and printed it.

Allereerst moest ik natuurlijk bepalen waar de titel moest komen en hoe groot-ie moest zijn. Dus ben ik begonnen met het globaal ontwerpen van mijn layout. Om de achtergrond te maken heb ik de Silhouette cut file "Sil. 3# Numbers Cut File" uit de PLS online store gebruikt. Toen ik wist waar ik de titel wilde heb ik 'm in Word gemaakt en daarna geprint. Het font dat ik hier gebruikt heb heet "Scriptina".

Next I cut out the title and placed it on my layout to find the right spot for it.

Nadat ik de titel op een A4-tje geprint had heb ik 'm uitgeknipt en op mijn layout gelegd:

When I knew where I wanted the title I secured it in place with a small piece of Scotch tape and used my paper piercer to pierce little holes through the paper with the printed title on it.

Toen ik wist waar-ie moest komen heb ik 'm met een stukje Scotch tape vastgeplakt en heb ik daarna met een paper piecer kleine gaatjes er doorheen geprikt:

When I was done, I removed the piece of paper with the title and it looked like this:

Toen ik klaar was haalde ik het papiertje met de titel weg en zag mijn layout er zo uit:

Next I hand stitched the title using a piece of embroidering thread:

Daarna heb ik de titel met een stukje borduurdraad (3 draadjes) geborduurd:

And I was done! Super easy! Here’re a few close-ups of my page:

En klaar is Kees! Hartstikke makkelijk, maar een erg leuk effect toch? Hier nog een paar close-ups:
