Bold-Line Embellishment Christmas Layouts - Scrapbook Magazine UK issue 86

For the December issue of Scrapbook Magazine UK  (number 86) I was asked to create three layouts with a bold line of embellishments.

And here's what I made!

"Merry Everything": for my “Merry Everything“ layout I covered an entire strip of patterned paper with embellishments. I started with some cardstock shapes and layered chipboard and die-cut elements, buttons, stickers etc. on top. I ended with small elements like stickers to fill the “holes”.

and some close-ups:

Supply list: patterned paper, die-cuts, stickers: October Afternoon; cardstock: Bazzill Basics; chipboard, button, acetate snowflakes, wood veneer : Studio Calico; paper clip: Webster’s Pages; spray mist: Prima Marketing; pen: Stabilo; photo overlay: Ali Edwards; cut files: Totally Jamie; adhesive: tape runner American Crafts, 3D Foam Squares Scrapbook Adhesives. Tools: Silhouette Cameo, Aigger sewing machine.

"Naughty": for my “Naughty” layout I created a bold-line with embellishments horizontally in the middle of my page, except on top of the photo. To give the impression the line continued across the photo I added some wood veneer to it.

And some close-ups:

Supply list: patterned paper: Teresa Collins, Crate Paper; cardstock: Bazzill Basics; overlay: Webster’s Pages; die-cuts: Crate Paper, Studio Calico; Chipboard: Crate Paper; wood veneers: Studio Calico; sticker: Pretty Little Studio; cut files: Silhouette store; adhesive: tape runner American Crafts, 3D Foam Squares Scrapbook Adhesives. Tools: Silhouette Cameo, Aigger sewing machine.

And last but not least this Bella Blvd layout: "Celebrate"
For my last layout “Celebrate” I started with the shape of the Christmas tree and covered one side with fun embellishments.

Close-ups:

Supply list: ”: patterned paper, chipboard shapes, die-cuts, stickers: Bella Blvd; cardstock: American Crafts; pen: K&Company; sequins: Doodlebug Design; spray ink: Prima Marketing; cut file: Kerri Bradford; adhesive: tape runner American Crafts, 3D Foam Squares Scrapbook Adhesives. Tools: Silhouette Cameo, Aigger sewing machine, V&D long reach stapler.

These are only three examples of "bold-line embellishment" layouts; the possibilities are endless!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

One Two Three Snap! - Imaginisce - and some happy mail!

Last Wednesday my "Good Dog" layout was up on Imaginisce's blog! It goes without saying that I used a photo of my dog Jippie:

Lots of machine stitching on this page, but oh how I need a new machine... nearly ruined my page! (and you should see the back of the paper, lol!).

I've created some coordinating brads for my page using the I-Top. Wanna see how easy it was to make them??

Step 1: Choose a size for your punches and brads. I used the 16 mm (small) and the 22 mm (medium).

Step 2: Place the punched out paper shape on top of the shell (I always use a glue dot to keep my paper shape in place, but you don’t have to) and place them on your tool.

Step 3: Squeeze your tool and release:

Step 4: Fold the paper tabs inside the shell.

Step 5: Place the brad base in the tool and squeeze until you hear a popping sound which means the brad clicked together.

And that’s it. Now you have the perfect – coordinating – brads!!

Thank you so much for letting me share! Hope you found this helpful, if you have any questions just let me know!

Supplies Used: Imaginisce (Good Dog: patterned paper, sticker stackers, chipboard stickers; Childhood Memories: ABC stickers; Brad Daddies). Other Supplies used: Bazzill cardstock, Studio Calico: cork embellishments. Tools: Imaginisce I-Top tool, Silhouette Cameo, Aigger sewing machine

If you want to see more fun Imaginisce projects from the other designers using their favorite Imaginisce tools, please visit Imaginisce's blog!!

Then when I got home today, I had TWO packages waiting for me! One package contained issue 75 of Scrapbook Magazine UK in which I was published:

I was asked to create a layout for the "Scraplift Challenge": a layout for the readers to lift. I used Doodlebug's Take Note collection and stamps from Unity Stamps Company.

And the other happy mail, was a box with my DT goodies from Pretty Little Studio!! I've unpacked it for you .... Isn't this awesome?!!! Feels like Christmas!

Okay this was it for today! Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Really appreciating it!

A card, a pub & a prize!

I've been a fan of Shellye's work for quite some time and as she has a card challenge going on at the Nook right now, I decided to play.

For the challenge you have to use the next sketch, include a "dovetail or pennant" look on your card and use the most recent Nook kit you have. Upload the finished card by May 23rd.

The sketch:
And my take on it using the Nook's May kit:

Love this collection (This and That) by Echo Park! Love it so much I really had trouble deciding which papers to use (as some were way too beautiful to cut up for a "mere" card, LOL) and which papers to "hoard".

Hope you like it.

Then I have some other news .... one of my layouts got published again! and yet again in "UK's Scrapbook Magazine", this time in issue #63. Jules was so sweet to send me a scan of the page. The 2nd layout is mine!

And last but not least ... with the layout I created for Jillibean's NSD challenge I won a few goodies! Check out this post: Jill chose a few winners and one of them was me! I'm so happy!

This is it! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Published!

Yesterday, my scrap buddy Jules emailed me this photo of February's UK's biggest-selling scrapbook magazine, issue 62.... and you know why? Because I'm in it! The layout in the middle "This is Magical" is mine (supplies: American Crafts)!

It's such a shame the magazine isn't for sale in The Netherlands because I would love to buy it every now and again, BUT right now my hubby is in London and promised to have a look and see if he could find it!

This is it for now! Thanks for stopping by!!

MLS project and published!

You probably know that I love everything by My Little Shoebox and when I had lots of left over scraps I just couldn't throw them away .... but what to do with them? Well .... this for example!

the front:
the side:
and a photo of the back:

It's a little house with a hole in the roof and hollow on the inside. You can put it over a little vase and the flowers will stick out of the roof.... Don't you just love My Little Shoebox too?!!!

And then this morning my issue of Scrapbook Magazine UK arrived!! and you know what's in it? My Disney mini album!!

Used one of the canvas mini albums from Maya Road I bought, papers from Best Creation and of course lots of shapes from Epiphany Crafts!!

How fun is that?!!

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you back soon!!!
