Dutch Dares #77

En heb je toevallig vandaag al op het blog van de Dutch Dares gekeken??? De nieuwe dare en onze projecten staan er weer op!! Deze maand is het thema "Disney" en het is erg leuk te zien wat iedereen daarmee gemaakt heeft.

Have you visited the Dutch Dares blog today yet?? We just posted the new dare: "Disney" and it's so much fun to see everyone's different takes on it! here's mine:

Hier is mijn layout:

Een foto van Manon toen we in 2006 in Disneyland in Calfornië waren (ahhhh, wat is ze hier nog schattig!).
Papier, (groene) letter stickers en diecuts zijn allemaal van Nikki Sivils de "Summer" line, (kurk) letters zijn van MM, bling swirl van Colorbök, bloemetjes van Prima en twine van "Divine Twine".

Materials: patterned paper, (green) letter stickers, diecuts: all Nikki Sivils the "Summer" line, (brown) letters: MM, bling swirl: Colorbök, flowers: Prima and twine from Divine Twine.

Natuurlijk weer alles met de naaimachine gestikt. Op de foto helaas niet zo goed te zien, maar in het echt wel.
And of course I machine stitched the lot!!

Als je het leuk vindt om met ons mee te doen dan maak je kans op een leuke RAK of op het gast designer-schap!! (Conny, leuk dat je volgende keer onze gastdesigner bent!!).
And if you like Disney too, why not join us this month? Maybe you'll be the winner of the RAK or our next guest designer!

Fijne avond nog en bedankt voor je bezoekje!!
Have a great day and hope to see you back soon!

Inkido layouts!

Hi everyone!

Are you enjoying the weekend as much as I'm doing??? I loved the sunny and warm weather yesterday! Spring is finally here! Hope it's here to stay!

And talking about Spring.... I was so happy that a few weeks ago my Inkido box arrived, filled with the new Spring products!!!! My favorite collection (but they are all gorgeous!) is this one "Forever" and then especially the papers with the butterflies! Look:

I used this line for a photo I have of my mother with my youngest son. It's a photo I treasure and therefore just perfect for these papers!

And here's a layout made with the other new lines "Rosehage" and "Is This Love?".

I know, I know.... Valentine's Day is long over, but I had these photos lying on my desk and they begged me to be scrapped.... so I did. A page about my husband not liking Valentine's Day very much. He says it was invented for commercial purposes (and maybe he's right), but as the kids and I do like this day very much we gave him this heart made of flowers and pine cones. And of course he loved his present!

Some close-ups of Inkido's wonderful butterfly stamps, flowers, ribbon and diecut frame. This frame is originally white, but I glimmermisted it and then stamped on it with the text stamp "Old Love Letter".

Materials I used: Patterned paper: "Rosehage" line and a bit of "Is This Love?", furthermore red cardstock, flowers, stamps, ribbon, and a diecuts frame.

Almost everything I used is from the new Spring collection. If you want to see the new collection, have a look HERE!!!

This is it! I wish you a sunny Sunday and hope to see you back soon!!

A double page!

A few weeks I decided to try the sketch from CK, but as I haven't heard from them I guess it hasn't been chosen and thus I can show it to you!

This was the sketch:

And this is what I made. A page about my dd and our dog. Jippie (the dog) attacked my dd's cats!! = her new slippers!! It was so funny to look at that I just had to grab my camera and take some pics. :-)

Used Kraft paper with lots of Sassafras (Bungle Jungle), a Maya Road envelop and of course my Epiphany Crafts shapes.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and hope to see you back soon!
Hugs,
Monique

Last layout for The Scrappiest

My last layout for The Scrappiest while being on their design team is about my daughter and one of her best friends on their way to a school party.

Used lots of Jillibean Soup papers (some new, some old) and journaling sprouts on this layout. The green corrugated leaves are from LYB, the flowers and (bling) butterflies from Prima and the crystals are from ZVA.

And this is the sketch it's based upon:

If you want to see what the other designers created have a look at the Scrappiest blog!

As Ive been on Liz' team for more than a year now my time has come to say goodbye. I'll miss belonging to this team of amazing scrappers and I'll miss Liz and her sketches, but am also looking forward to new challenges and opportunities.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

More Inkido projects!

And it's Monday again!!! How time flies! How was your weekend??? Just as much fun as mine? I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday scrapping, talking, laughing, eating, watching films, shopping..... etc. with Mieke in Ommen! We had such a good time! Hope we can do this again SOON!!

But because I didn't have my laptop with me during this weekend away I still owe you my 2 Inkido projects from last Saturday. So, here they are:

A layout about my dd feeding the birds during the snow in December:

With the journaling hidden in the bag:

I created the page with all kinds of Inkido products: Patterned Paper: Christmas Elegance (Snowfall and Snowfall Stripes), Classic (Noter Brun), Apples (Golden Delicious), Drömmar (Ruta Beige), then some white, beige and brown cardstock, flowers, a charm and some pearls. Furthermore I used some spray ink, a white pen and a heart shaped doily from a local bakery.

The title is created with the "Diesel" alphabet from Quickutz and the birds and the bird cage are made using dies from Marianne Design. The borders are made with either a Martha Stewart borderpunch or my fancy x-acto scissors.

The brown paper bag (behind the photo) I got from a shop in Denmark to wrap my purchases in. I asked the lady from the shop if I could have my purchases and the bag(s) separate, so it wouldn't crease (because I knew straight away I wanted to use it for scrapping, LOL!

And the other project was also about this brown paper bag:

And a close-up:

Materials I used: Patterned Paper: Drömmar (Ruta Beige), Gammaldags Jul (Julhjartan), Apples (Cox Orange), Mathea (Golden Glow), Christmas Elegance (Elegant Stripes), Mathea (Coral), then 3 different ribbons, pins, a charm and a stamp.

The bag is perfect to give someone a gift card or a (little) book.

To close the bag I folded the top half, punched two holes in it and wrapped a ribbon through it. Easy!
Hope you like my projects and see you next time!

Mood Swings....

No, not mine! but my daughter's!! I don't know about your daughter, but mine can be super happy one minute and ready to explode with anger the next .... luckily that doesn't last either and 5 minutes later she's her happy self again! And it's only my daughter, my boys don't "suffer" from these mood swings, they are much more level headed. Oh well, maybe it's a girl's things, cause to be honest, I kinda recognize it... :-)

Here's my page:

I used papers and embellishments from GCD Studios, "Homespun Chic" by Melody Ross. I just LOVE this line, it's so colorful and there are so many extra's to make your page complete (I even used 2 of the packages because they were too beautiful to throw away.... do you see them??)! I didn't even use my Epiphany Crafts tools as this line has its own epoxy shapes!!

And of course I had to use my sewing machine. I stitched a border around the papers and the photos, stitched through one of the borders and I stitched right through the title.

The layout is based on Liz' new sketch from The Scrappiest!! I love this sketch (but as you know, I love them all, LOL).

Did you know there's a Design Team Call going on at The Scrappiest??? If you love Liz' sketches and love to be on a Design Team, why not give it a shot???

This is it for now! See you tomorrow?? I'll show you the layout I created for the Dutch Dares then!

A layout and a winner!!

I  owe you another layout I made with the Crop Addict February Kit and Kit Option. This one is about my dd who is in her 2nd year of secondary school. When she finished primary school her teacher there advised her to attend a secondary school which was significantly lower than she's doing right now, also lower than her friends were going to do (which was at the time very important to her, duh!). She was very disappointed and therefore very determined to show them all that she could do better! And so she does!!! We're so very proud of her!!

And of course I used my tools from Epiphany Crafts!!

Papers: a combination of Basic Grey and Bella Blvd, which go together very well!

And now on to the WINNER of The Scrappiest Blog Hop!!!

Post number 12: Catherine Oakley who said: "This is a wonderful interpretation of the sketch."

Congrats Catherine! Please email me your details and I'll send you your prize!!

Good night for now and hope to see you back soon!

You hold the Key to my Heart!

Yesterday another one of my layouts was up on the Sampler's blog (The Crop Spot). It's called "You hold the Key to my Heart" and is about my dd and me.

I find I love to create layouts with all different kinds and colors of papers. Normally I scrap with one certain line from one manufacturer, but this kit forces me to let that go and scrap with what I have at hand .... and it works quite well for me. I love to use all these different colors on 1 layout!

A close-up of the heart and the flower centre, which are both made with my tools from Epiphany Crafts  (LOVE those, but hey you know that, LOL).

The title is hand cut from some cardstock scraps I had left and with the press-on from Pink Paislee they look actually quite nice, I think.

The day I finished this layout my dd came home all upset because she had been bullied by a girl from school (who had hit and kicked her and knocked her off her bike). When something like that happens to your little girl you realize all the more how much you love your kids! You don't want to know what I wanted to do to this other girl! but I didn't, I was good and contacted the school and let them deal with it (which they are doing very well, luckily!).

Ok, I got sidetracked.... back to The Sampler! This layout was also made with the January Kit. If you want to see what the other designers made with their kit, why not have a look at The Sampler's blog "The Crop Spot"?

This is it for now!
Thanks for stopping by and a BIG hug from me!

The Scrappiest, sketch 97

It's Monday and that means the reveal of the latest sketch from The Scrappiest, #97!!!

And my layout: "One Crazy Girl"

..... about my dd of course, who else??

Used my favorite line from Pink Paislee "Sweetness". I just can't get enough of these papers and all the embellies that come with it!

I was a bit too late sending my layout to Liz, but the other design team members were in time... so if you want to see their projects, please hop over to the The Scrappiest blog to have a look!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Strike a Pose! -

... that's what Manon did when I took this picture of her, LOL!

I printed these photos when we returned from our holiday in Denmark, but when I wanted to scrap them I couldn't decide on the papers.... and then 2 weeks ago I bought the "Bella" line from Best Creation and I knew straight away which photos to use. These papers are so beautiful: full of colors, many details and glitters!! Perfect for me!!

The sketch I used is the new sketch, number 96, from The Scrappiest:

And here's my take on it:

And some details of the shapes I created with my very favorite tool from Epiphany Crafts!

Thanks for stopping by and if you want to see what the other designers created with this sketch hop over to the The Scrappiest blog!!
