Today we posted the last sketch for 2009 on the Little Shop of Sketches blog. This post was a little special because we had 2 winners: for November: MeganA and for December: Mia Castrillo! Please leave me a comment or email me your addresses and I'll make sure your prize goes in the mail a.s.a.p.!!

This is Tanya's sketch, #62:
And this is my take on it. I used my December Nook kit and a journaling clear tag from Tanya Leigh Design:

Photos Disneyland in Paris

Yesterday I promised you some photos from our Disney outing!!

We stayed in the Davy Crockett Ranch in this brand new cottage. I think we were the very first family to stay in it!!
And this is how we got our breakfast!! At the end of our road there was this little cabin where we got a real french breakfast complete with french bread, croissants, hot chocolate and coffee!
And of course there was a Christmas tree in our park.
.... and a Disney store!!!
We had to drive about 10 minutes to get to the park.....
and as soon as you entered the park you saw this!! Isn't it beautiful??
And of course we saw the parade... (well, a small version of it).
And here's the castle.....
and Manon "lost" in Alice's Curious Labyrinth...
Queing for every ride...

Having dinner with our party in the Silver Spur Steakhouse:
The girls got on like a house on fire...
And after dinner we saw this. Doesn't it look magnificant?
Sunday when we went to the Studio's park it started snowing again:
but the kids didn't mind:
Patrick and Timothy got a fastpass for the Tower of Terror and willingly got in the elevator for some free falls..... (I didn't!! Not for a million!!)...
Monters & Co (4 of them, LOL!):
A white park (and a snowflake on my camara lens...):
and some sweets for the way home:
Arjen and Ellen if you're reading this....Thanks a million from all of us for this unforgettable weekend!!!
Everyone else thanks for looking and don't hesitate to leave a comment!!

A present and GD with Twisted Sketches

Hi everyone!!!

I want to show you what arrived for me yesterday all the way from New Zealand...... we were baking cookies for the school Christmas dinner when the postman knocked on my window (we don't have a doorbell) carrying this package!! It was a box full of presents from my bloggy friend Vicki!!! and not only for me, but also something for the kids! How sweet is that?! Mats started unpacking straight away .....

and I did too....

And in close-up:
Don't you just love this??? I can't wait to start scrapping!!
Thank you so very much Vicki!!!! You're the BEST!!!

And then some scrappy news: this week I'm Guest Designer for Twisted Sketches! I made the layout a while ago, but couldn't show you any sooner. This month the twist was "frames" and here's the sketch:
Here's my take on it. I took these photos in July, when the kids were dressing up.
Thanks everyone for visiting my blog and hope to see you back soon!!

A Christmas layout!

Although it has been very busy I managed to finish my layout for Tanya's Little Shop of Sketches in time!! And because it's almost Christmas I made a Christmas layout!

I used a photo from 2007 because I found this wonderful golden Xmas tree made by Manon in 2007. If you look closely you'll notice that the Xmas tree actually spells her name! Now, how cool is that?

And do you see those journaling circles? Those are from Tanya Leigh Design. Furthermore I used the October Afternoon Xmas papers.
TFL and hope to see you soon!! (and please leave a comment!! They are highly appreciated!).

First Spunky Layout

Here's my very first Spunky layout!

As it's almost thanksgiving (in the US) the challenge this week is to scrap about what you're thankful for, but with a slight twist: it can't be family/friends/kids etc.... and you can't use the word "thankful" in the title.

So I made a layout about how grateful I am for all the frequent flyer points (and hotel points) Patrick collected, because without them we wouldn't have gone to California for 4 weeks in April/May this year!!

Hope you have the time to play along!

I love this time of year!!

Don't you just love this time of year??? Not only because of (mine and) Manon's birthday (she turned 13!!!) but also because of Sinterklaas and Xmas! And although it's a pretty hectic time, I enjoy every minute and because of that I'm constantly in the mood to scrap (what a shame there are only 24 hours in one day)! Here's one of my recent scrappy purchases, an old fashioned type writer, which I found on the internet! Love to use it for my journaling!

Our birthdays were last weekend and we had a marvellous time; lots of family and friends over, lots of cake and lots of presents! Look what I got.... a Slice!!! Yeah!!
Our birthday girl!!!
Then yesterday we watched the arrival of Sinterklaas here in Delft. It was a pity that Manon's soccer game was in the afternoon so Patrick and she couldn't come with us, but Timothy, Mats and I hugely enjoyed ourselves.
And then yesterday evening I finished this!! When I was in my favorite scrapbook store, Scrapbook Nederland in Voorburg about 2 weeks ago, I saw this wooden advent box and fell in love with it straight away!

Firstly I painted the box, then I cut all the rectangles and machine stitched them, then I inked and embellished them and finally I glued them to the box. I used the Xmas line, Jolly by Golly, from Cosmo Cricket (LOVE it), some Bazzill for the numbers (cut them with my new Slice!!) and a little bit of this and that.
Hope you have a wonderful time too and I would love to see your comments!
Thanks and see you soon! Monique
