Elle's Studio NSD Challenge

Yesterday it was (inter)National Scrapbooking Day and of course I wanted to join in all the fun! One of the challenges I joined was challenge #2 at Elle's Studio:  Rip, tear and texturize the paper on your project to add interest, the way that Melissa Mann did on this beautiful page! No special tools are needed—a pair of sharp scissors will do the trick to texturize a paper edge, and you can rip in a straight line easily by adding pressure with a ruler. If this isn’t your typical style, give it a try to up your texture game!

Tearing isn't really my cup of tea but I love challenges and so I gave it a try (all strips of paper are torn): 

I used the March and April kits to create this page and a few extra's. 

The photos are from 2004 and I so loved seeing these again!

When I bought this collection I loved it so much that I didn't want to use it, but now I've finally taken the step and pulled it out I kind of went overboard, lol. But, hey if I have to use my stash then nothing will stop me! Let me show you what I'm talking about ....

I love the result, but have to admit that because of all the cards/tickets/die-cuts etc. I used, I wouldn't be suprised if you can't find the photos anymore!

Scrapbook Generation CREATE Magazine November Issue!

Scraptastic Store | Elle's Studio | Today You

Hi everyone! Today you'll find one of my layouts on the blog of the Scraptastic Store. I used the Cienna collection from Elle’s Studio. I love everything from Elle’s Studio, from the papers to the embellishments, the stamps, the cut files … love it all. So when I saw that Jessica had added this collection to the store, I ordered it straight away!

What I also love are sketch challenges! I can’t get enough of them! And because Elle’s Studio has a weekly sketch challenge I decided to join in! Here’s what I did:

I adore all the bits and pieces in this collection! Especially those vellum pieces (like the red heart) that added in with the cardstock bits!

Reveal Day Creative Scrappers Sketch #285 - Elle's Studio

It's time for the reveal of sketch #285 at Creative Scrappers!! For today's sketch I used a photo of me taken last December (it was very cold outside, hence the red cheeks!) and the Good Cheer collection from Elle's Studio.

Still loving these Thickers, I've used them on numerous layouts but still haven't enough of them, although I do find them hard to photograph....

I Love Christmas - Elle's Studio Thursday Sketch Challenge

Yesterday we had our 6 weekly crop again and I got 5 layouts done! All I had to do was add some stitching and do the photographing of course.

One of the layouts I did was this one for the Thursday Sketch Challenge at Elle's Studio. 

I just love this Christmas collection (Good Cheer): 

The flair button is from my stash and is from A Flair For Buttons and the paper clip was given to me by a friend at the crop. I think she said it was from Xenos? or Ikea? or maybe Hema? Let me ask her! ... Okay, so turns out I was wrong about the store, the paper clip was from Freckled Fawn (should have known!).

Let's talk Minecraft!

Last Christmas I got a big box full of Gelatos in the most amazing colors, but until now I've almost never used it. So when I saw the Thursday challenge at Elle's Studio I decided I had to give it a go! (if you see the challenge, you'll understand why!).

I used the "Everyday Moments" collection from Elle's Studio and an older kit + add-on from the Scraptastic Kit Club (Classy Girls, August 2013) which I loved but (also) had barely touched (so much to do, so little time!) and here's what I made:

Very messy for me, but I loved giving this technique a try!

My boys (14 and 9) LOVE the online game Minecraft. So when we were away for a couple of days, they would look forward to the afternoon coffee in the hotel lobby where there was free wifi!

And because I made this page with the Scraptastic Club kit, I thought I'd link this up to their May 1st challenge as well (use a telephone on your page). As the boys are playing on their iPhone and iPod the cardstock sticker of the telephone was a perfect finishing touch!

Sketch Challenge Elle's Studio

As I said in my last blog post, I got to do 4 layouts during the Halloween crop last Saturday and this is another one of them: a layout for Elle's Studio sketch challenge from last Thursday (October 10):

The photos were taken when my dd and I were playing with my phone and although the colors are "off" I love them!

I've used Elle's "Saltwater" collection and loads of her tickets, snippets and cards. I love them a lot and can't stop collecting! By now I've got a whole bunch of them!

This is the sketch I used for my page:

For the row of frames I used a transparency from Webster's Pages from the "Recorded" collection.

Upside Down - Scraptastic Club & Elle's Studio

A few days ago I scrapped this page and now I almost forgot to share it! I made this with the Thursday sketch at Elle's Studio using the May kit (Destination Unknown) from Scraptastic Club.

The photo is my dd practising standing on her hands and all of a sudden she got it! (although at one time I heard her crash into my desk, which stands on her rightside!)

Do you notice I've tried something new on this page? I wanted to use my mists a bit more than I usually do and instead of just adding spatters to my page, I drew lines with the "spray stick" that's on the inside of the spray bottles. I must say I'm not totally happy with the result .... one of the reasons being that the AC/Dear Lizzy paper didn't like the water and started to "unravel" straight away and I almost ended up with a big hole in my page.

Happy 14th birthday!

For the "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" I created this monochromatic page about Timothy turning 14. I'm so glad I finally got a new photo of him! The older he gets, the more he resents my camera ... but on his birthday he couldn't  say no, lol.

The challenge at AFSC is to make a monochromatic layout with your favorite color, in this case I chose Tim's favorite color.

and a few details: I just love the journaling tag from Pretty Little Studio and the frame from Elle's Studio!

The banner is also from Pretty Little Studio and is a digital file you can find HERE.

I had just bought American Craft's "Mayberry" paper pad and that contains lots (!) of blue papers! Just perfect!

Not Everyday!

For today I have a layout for you without a photo! That's a first for me! Last month my husband had his birthday and I decided to buy tickets for the cinema, for the film "Nighttrain to Lisbon". I can't remember the last time we went anywhere -just the two of us - so it was really something special. And it was! special, I mean. The film was perfect and we had such a great time together.

So when I saw the cinema ticket lying on my desk I knew what to scrap! I used the Dear Lizzy "5th and Frolic" collection from American Crafts (LOVE!!!) and lots of bits and pieces of Elle's Studio. I also decided to use her Thursday sketch, but I don't know if you still recognize it: 

I really love how this turned out! Here're a few details:
