We don't wanna go home! - Pebbles

For the very very last challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge (yes, Anne is stopping with the blog :( ) I created this layout. It's a photo taken during our holiday in NY and what I remember very clearly from that holiday is that - every single day - we said "we don't wanna go home"!

So that's what this is about:

I've used Pebbles "Family Ties" for this layout, which I absolutely love! The colors, the designs and chipboards are all just perfect!

Happy 14th birthday!

For the "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" I created this monochromatic page about Timothy turning 14. I'm so glad I finally got a new photo of him! The older he gets, the more he resents my camera ... but on his birthday he couldn't  say no, lol.

The challenge at AFSC is to make a monochromatic layout with your favorite color, in this case I chose Tim's favorite color.

and a few details: I just love the journaling tag from Pretty Little Studio and the frame from Elle's Studio!

The banner is also from Pretty Little Studio and is a digital file you can find HERE.

I had just bought American Craft's "Mayberry" paper pad and that contains lots (!) of blue papers! Just perfect!

For the June 15 challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge I created this layout about my two sons, using a photo from more than 8 years ago! How time flies!

I love everything about this photo (except that it's so dark), see that look on Timothy's face and look at those hands ...  Tim was so in love with his baby brother!

I mainly used the Dear Lizzy/American Crafts "Neapolitan" collection for this page. Such an awesome collection!!

Let's get married! - JBS layout

Anne from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge has come up with yet another fun challenge for June!

This is June's challenge: 

How did your spouse propose to you? Where? How did you propose to your spouse? 

If this has never happened to you ‐ how did you dream it would? 

Or did you ever want that to happen to you?

I'm ashamed to admit that I can't remember exactly how or when we decided to get married. What I'm sure of is that Patrick didn't go down on one knee and officially proposed! I think it was like this: as soon as I found out that I was pregnant with Manon we knew we wanted to get married before she was born. So that's what we did. 

I chose this photo of Patrick with my dog Murphy (from 1994) as it's one of my favorites of that time. I only knew him for about a year and until then Murphy was the most important figure in my life, so to me it was extremely important that they would get on well. Seeing them together like this, I knew he was the right one for me, lol. 

I used the May papercrafting kit from Jenni Bowlin and added a few bits and pieces of my own (mostly from the Paper Issues store, like the corrugated cardstock people).

Ruby Rock-It layout!

Hi everyone! Today I have a quick post showing you the lastest dt layout made for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge using the "Carnival" collection from Ruby Rock-It.

The May 1 challenge for AFSC was to scrap about what you wanted to be when you grew up ... ? Well, to scrap about that was a challenge for sure, as I didn't have a clue! What I did know then, was that I wanted my life to be a big party, so that's what my layout is about.

AFSC Sketch Challenge!

It's been the 15th of the month again and that means there's a brand new sketch challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge! 

As I badly needed some sunshine after our very long winter, I've used Echo Park's "Hello Summer" collection for my page. Until last Sunday we hadn't had one ray of sun for the entire year! Okay, probably a bit exaggerated, but that's how it felt to me.

COFFEE layout

The April 1st challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is up! This month the challenge is:

"Scrap about one of your greatest current challenges, or a challenge from your past."

I decided to scrap about the amount of coffee I've been drinking (way too much) and the fact that I reduced it by at least 50%. To be honest I let myself by inspired by this "coffee" collection from Little Yellow Bicycle "Just Because", I really love the paper with all the coffee cups and the cute transparencies.

The photo was taken when I was in the office. What you see is my handbag (on my desk) with me in the little mirror and my coffee cup behind my bag.

{ On Stage } layout

Last Friday was the 15th so .... here's the new "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" sketch challenge!!

The layout is about my dd and her friend who are the presenters for the "On Stage" event in their school's auditorium. It's a whole evening filled with song and dance and they are the ones to present this in a fun and original way.

When I saw the sketch, my first thought was "omg, what am I going to do with this sketch?", but then I decided to do what I always do with sketches ... take one look at it and put it aside and don't look at it again. This way I create my layout with only my first impression of the sketch ... this always works and it worked again with this one.

The Good Life!

As today it's the 15th again we have a new sketch challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge!! and how I LOVE sketch challenges! I've noticed that I have a tendency to stick to one "safe" design if I don't (have to) use a sketch. Although, if I do have a sketch then it's hard to see I've used it at all!

Here's the layout I made. Manon, Mats, Julia and I had been to the library (yes, again ... we spend a lot of time there, LOL) and were cycling home when we met my dh who snapped a photo of us.

I've used the January kit from Scraptastic Club called "Days of our Lives" filled with lots of Fancy Pants (The Good Life collection) which I so love! Isn't this paper just perfect for this photo?

I love the simplicity of this sketch!
