Funky Pebbles Girl Squad (Travel) Mini Album

Can I say I adore mini albums?! I love making them and I love picking them up and look through them ... but why is it that I find them so hard to finish?! I think I have at least 3 unfinished December Daily's and 2 unfinished Project Life albums and lots of other unfinished mini albums.

Having said that, here's an album I did finish!! (just have to add photos, lol)
For Pebbles' "journaling week" (which was this week's theme) I created a (travel) mini album with Pebbles' awesome Girl Squad collection. I decided to create a travel journal small enough to bring with me to France and that needed only a couple of pictures and handwritten stories to complete. Most of the embellishing I did beforehand at home. The journal includes 20 different pages & 2 tags; it measures 5.5″ x 8″.

Here’s a photo of the cover of my “Fun and Funky Girl Squad Journal”. I just love all the papers, die-cuts, stickers and washi tape in this collection!

Before I got started on my project, I gathered everything I thought I would need, including a piece of heavy cardboard for the front and back of my journal and my Zutter to punch the holes:

I’ve used almost every patterned paper from the Girl Squad collection for my album, as they are all equally fabulous!

What I find so fabulous about the Girl Squad collection is that it can be used for almost every occasion. When you look at my album, you see that it’s not a travel album just yet—my photos and texts will make it that—but I could also easily turn the album into a family or girls-weekend-out album… the possibilities are endless!

Let me show you a couple of pages from my journal. Here’s the first page. I left most of the left side blank as I want to adhere a large photo there. From the right page (the first of four tab pages), I cut out a large ampersand and adhered it in the same spot on one of the next pages.

Every page in this Funky Girl Squad Journal is different. The sizes, patterns, forms… everything is different. In the photo below, you can see I stitched a triangle in one corner to create a space for all the bits and pieces I tend to collect during my vacations. Have you seen that coffee cup paper? Isn’t it awesome?!

have also included a few products from other Pebbles collections, like this foiled sheet w/gold from the Simple Life collection and the word stickers from the Tealightful collection:

From the “You Got This” paper, I created a bag with a tag inside by folding the paper in two and stitching the sides closed. The outside of the bag is perfect for journaling.

I think that a large photo on the left side will look great! and I love the houndstooth paper!!

Woohoo for coffee cups!! that one just had to be included!! I have to admit that I didn't use a whole lot of glue there, just in case I have to replace it later-on to a page where we are having coffee...

And here's another pocket with a large tag:

Another triangle to tuck in bits and pieces from our holiday. How I love that bicycle paper!!

When my album was finished, I realized that I had been inspired by the mini albums by Amy Tangerine. If you look them up, you’ll see just what I mean.

This is it! My Funky Girl Squad Journal. I’m going to use it for a travel journal in the south of France. Together with my Instax camera and some stickers and washi tape, I’ll journal all the fun memories we make. I’ll make sure to show you the result as soon as it’s finished.

Pebbles Mini (Tag) Album using the Tealightful Collection!

Hello friends! For Pebbles I created this fun tag mini album using the Tealightful collection! Last week, when I was making a (long overdue) back-up of my photos, I found these photos of my youngest again, participating in a sort of “fashion show” with his school using recycled and self-made clothes. At the time he was only 5 years old and he looked ever so cute! I knew straight away I wanted to use these photos in some kind of mini album, which turned out to be this tag album:

Before beginning the tag mini album, I printed all the photos I wanted to use in size 2″x 2″, found a cut file in the Silhouette store with 5 different tags & collected the papers and embellishments I thought I would need. Although I used my Silhouette to create the tags, you can easily hand cut these as well. They are different in size (what I love!) but the largest tag is approx. 6″ x 3.5″.

Now came the fun part: embellishing all the tags! Before I adhered the papers on the tags, I used my paper distressing tool to rough up the edges a little. After I had embellished all the tags I used a white & a black pen to draw a lines along the edges of both the tags and some of the papers.

Here are the tags one by one (except for the cover, which you can see in the first photo), so this is the back of the first tag. I just love the pink glitter foam Thickers that belong to this collection and needed to include some of those too!

The second tag is a Pebbles gold dipped tag from the Home+Made collection on which I typed some journaling with my typewriter. Next, I embellished it with a small piece of washi tape, a word sticker, and a transparent sticker:

For the back I used one of the squares from the Tea Party Sentiments sheet and used some ribbon and a puffy sticker to embellish:

The front of the third tag:

On the back  of the third tag I used one of the wood veneer shapes from the Simple Life collection. Isn’t it just perfect?!

Here’s the front of the fourth tag. I just love that so many of the word stickers from the Tealightful collection are so appropriate for my photos!

And the back:

On the fifth tag I adhered the photos a little over the edge of the tag and I loved how it turned out:

And for the back of the fifth tag, I used one of the cards from the Tea Party sheet. Isn’t it super cute?

The sixth and last tag; I thought this was the perfect photo to use last in my mini album, lol. The word “joy” was cut from a sheet of white AC cardstock using my Silhouette:

For the back of the tag mini album I used another card from the Tea Party sheet. I had to trim a little of the sides to make it fit:

This was the last tag in the tag mini album. I used a ring binder to keep all the tags together and knotted a few pieces of ribbon around it. I really love how it turned out! Hope you do too! I adore the Tealightful collection and it’s so perfect to use for almost any occasion!

Doodlebug "July Daily" mini album

I love creating mini albums, but as they cost so much time to create I often opt for a quicker scrapbook project like a layout or a card. But not this time! I love Doodlebug's "Take Note" collection so much, that I decided to create a "July Daily".

Here's what I made:

The cover, with a sun (or flower) created with those awesome Doodlebug buttons.

The inner pages:

July 2013:

July 1: Waving Timothy goodbye when he leaves for one of the last days at school before the summer holidays. July 2: Found an Easter egg no-one discovered in April!

July 3: Scrapbook UK magazine arrived on my doorstep with my first written article in it! July 4: Having lunch in the Hema with Manon during my lunch break.

July 5: All Timothy does in his free time is playing on his PlayStation 3. July 6: Patrick is preparing the barbecue while I quietly read my book ... bliss!

July 7: Going to the movies with Astrid. We saw "Now You See Me" (awesome film!). July 8: Mats and his best friend at school. July 9: My father turned 75!!!

July 10: Leaving party Mats' class and eating an ice cream with "smurfen" ice (blue). July 11: Wohoo, I got a new laptop!!!

July 12: Mats brings home an AWESOME school report!! WTG son! Also July 12: Patrick, Manon and Tim arrive in Portugal for a week long (extra) vacation! (Mats still has to go to school for another week so we stay home.)

July 13: Manon reads a book a day! July 16: Tim and Manon para gliding! July 17: Patrick, Manon & Tim booked a bus tour and are discovering more of Portugal than just Praia da Oura and Albufeira.

Another July 17 shot:

Okay, this was the first half of my July Daily. The next half will follow soon!

Supplies: mainly Doodlebug's Take Note collection, including patterned papers, 6x6 paper pad, stickers, 4x6 simply put cards, border stickers, teensy type alpha stickers, doodle pops, washi tape. I used some bits and pieces of other Doodlebug collections.

Hope you like it!
