A colorful Fall layout for JustNick Studio

Hi there friends! Today I'm up on the blog of JustNick Studio sharing one of my Autumn layouts. For this page I decided to use one of JustNick's (cut) files to embroider the design on my layout instead of cutting the design. I chose the Floral Swag 3 and used it to create this page of my daughter:

Here's the cut file I used: Floral Swag 3

What I did was replacing the blade by a sketch pen and instead of cutting, I let my Silhouette Cameo draw the flowers on my cardstock. I then pierced holes along the lines and used embroidery floss in various colors to hand stitch the flowers and leaves.

I used Echo Park's "Celebrate Autumn" for my page as I just love the warm colors of the papers and because I love the owls and other cute critters in this collection!

Next I printed two small (3"x 4") photos of my girl, matted these and placed them above the flowers. I decided that the top of my layout was too white and cut a strip of patterned owl paper (4" x 12") and adhered this at the top of my layout, with a small border strip (0.5" x 12") below.

On both sides of the photos I added a little card and a few chipboard pieces:

As I thought there was too much white space in the largest flower of my embroidered design I punched 5 small circles and adhered these in the petals of the flower:

This is it. Hope you like it! There are more floral swag cut files in the JustNick store if you want to try some of them out to create Fall projects as well. Can't wait to see what you'll do!

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you happy scrapping!

Celebrate Autumn | Pie Chart Tutorial for My Creative Scrapbook

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing the step-by-step tutorial I made My Creative Scrapbook for this layout created with the fabulous MCS October Main Kit. I adore the "Forever Fall" collection from Simple Stories Pam chose for this month's kit and had such a great time creating this page.

Because I love the pie charts that are all the rage for quite a while now, I came up with the idea to use small pie charts on my page, instead of one large one. Let me show you how I made them.

I started with a circle punch and a triangle punch and punched 8 circles and a whole lot of triangles:

On top of every circle I put some liquid glue and adhered 8 triangles:

Starting with two triangles opposite of each other I filled the cardstock circles:

Don't you agree they look like little pie charts?

Because I first glued the triangles on a piece of cardstock, I was able to position the little "pie charts" in different ways before deciding on my final design:

On top of every pie chart I adhered one or more stickers or die-cuts. The title I added to the top row of pie charts. Here are a few close-ups:

Fall truly is my favorite season and I'm so happy with this collection, with all the adorable little bits and pieces that are Fall related.

This is it! Hope you like my page and step-by-step tutorial. For more information about the kit and how to secure one for yourself click HERE! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Wishing you happy scrapping!

Scrap The Boys October challenge | Doodlebug Hello

Hi friends!! TGIF! Sooo happy that Friday has arrived, my day off from work! I started the day early with an hour aqua jogging and although I didn't really wanted to go I'm so glad I did! It really feels good, starting the day with a bit of working out.

After I got home I grabbed a coffee and finished this page. I often visit the Scrap The Boys blog, but it has been ages and ages that I had time to play. When I saw this month's challenge (a mood board challenge) I immediately thought of Doodlebug's Hello collection, lying beside my desk, waiting to be used. Sooo, here's what I did:

I scrapped a photo of my eldest son, taken on vacation in France quite some years ago (I now realize I forgot to add the date to my page!). I totally adore this photo and this Doodlebug collection and am so happy I stumbled upon the Scrap The Boys challenge. I'm sure otherwise I wouldn't have taken the time to create this page.

Here are a few more close-ups:

And this is the color scheme we had to use:

Fun right?!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and if you feel like scrapping, why not join in this challenge? Just hop over to the Scrap The Boys blog to see more projects created with these colors.

Wishing you all a fab weekend and hope to see you back sometime!

My Creative Scrapbook October Main Kit Reveal and a layout

Hi friends! I've got a layout to share that I created with the October Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I love the Forever Fall collection from Simple Stories that Pam included in this kit!! The photo I used is an old one: my youngest kid ten years ago (how time flies!) but I just never got around to scrap it.

The cut file is a free cut file also from My Creative Scrapbook.

A few close-ups:

Isn't that little fox super cute?!

And this is this month's kit:

If you want to know more about the kit, then hop over to the MCS website and if you want to see the projects the design team created then please visit the DT gallery. Did you know that the MCS blog contains lots and lots of tutorials created with the kits? If you want to check them out, go HERE

On The Go | JustNick Studio & Pretty Little Studio

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing my "Barcelona" layout with you. It's been almost 6 years that we visited this amazing city and the photos I've used on this layout have been lying on my desk for just as long! At the time I created a mini album for this vacation and these were my leftover photos, but as it was one of the most amazing city trips we did, I didn't want to part with them. And now I'm so glad I didn't as they were just perfect to use with the "Big Wheels" cut file!

This is the "Big Wheels" cut file; such an awesome, versatile cut file!

I also used the "Wish You Were Here" collection from Pretty Little Studio and my circle punches to create this page. Love how well the colors of Pretty Little Studio collection match my photos! And I love that I got to use so many different pieces of patterned paper in one layout!

And no, there were no lamas to be found in Barcelona, but I adored the die-cut and wanted to include at least part of him in my page!

When I started my layout I had square sized photos, but quickly decided that that size didn't work for a multiple photo layout with this cut file. Then I punched circles from my photos and now I totally love the result!

I added a few word stickers, word flags and die-cuts and a bit of machine stitching and I was done!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog to take a peek at my project! Hope you like it. If you're looking for this or other circular cut files or any other cut file just hop over to the JustNick store!

Happy crafting!
