Oh What Fun | My Creative Scrapbook December Creative Kit Reveal

It's time for the December kits at My Creative Scrapbook! Using the December Creative Kit, featuring the My Mind's Eye "Holly Jolly" collection I created amongst others this page about Ginny, my 4 months old English Cocker Spaniel wearing her Rudolf suit:

She is so sweet I can't stop taking photos of her (and scrapping them). I have to remind myself to take some photos of the rest of the family as well, lol! Here are some close-ups:

Ever since I discovered the Nuvo paste I'm kind of addicted to it. I tend to add it to all layouts with white cardstock backgrounds.

I love this month's MCS free digital cut files, like this banner (designed by Ashley Horton).

Here's a photo of the December Creative Kit:

And a photo of the free cut file:

For more information about the December kits please visit the My Creative Scrapbook website and if you want to see the photos of all projects created by the design team with the various kits, please visit the Design Team Gallery.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to look at my page!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

He said - Creative Scrappers Reveal Sketch #272

It's time for the reveal of the brand new Creative Scrappers sketch #272! Today's sketch is a "no photo" sketch and I have to admit it took me days to find inspiration for this one. But as soon as I had an idea I couldn't stop!

A year or so ago my youngest's favorite pastime was writing little poems. As he was only 8 years old, most texts were hilarious. So for today's layout I chose one of these little poems.

and for those of you who can read Dutch, no I don't have a "golden tooth", lol!

Supplies: paper, chipboard, stickers, enamel shapes: My Mind's Eye; cardstock: Bazzill Basics; cork butterflies: American Crafts; alpha letter and word stickers: Jillibean Soup; paperclip: Maya Road; Pen: K&Company; washi tape: Marianne Design. Tools: Silhouette Cameo, sewing machine and stapler.

And here's sketch #272:

You can play along with Sketch 272 for the chance to win from our Sponsor, Paper Camellia.  Link up on the Creative Scrappers Blog for Sketch 272 by the deadline, July 31st.

To see what the other designers created, please hop over to the blog of Creative Scrappers! It's worth it!!!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

My Mind's Eye layout

and another layout for the 2Peas NSD challenges is done!!

NSD challenge #2 is a sketch challenge! and I love sketch challenges!

Here's what I made:

A layout with photos of our cruise in 2011. Here we're in Greece, Katakolon. We only stayed for a few hours, but I could have stayed for days ... no weeks! I just love Greece and can't wait to go back.

This new collection "Find your Wings and fly" from My Mind's Eye I bought only yesterdag. I entered a local scrapbook store (Doe@ding) and this was the first collection I saw and I just had to have it! LOVE the colors, the designs ... everything!

And here's the sketch my page is based upon:

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today!! I really appreciate it.

Spring in '65!

Remember I told you I'm May's Guest Designer at "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge"? Well, here's the layout I created for their challenge. The challenge is "Scrap something about your garden .... etc.".

I decided to use these photos of my early childhood. When I was little, my parents didn't have a house with a garden, but my (German) grandparents did. So every time we stayed with my grandparents, we spent days in their garden. Here it's "Whitsun" (Pinksteren) and the weather is really warm.

And some close-ups:

I used the March 2012 kit from My Scrapbook Nook. The buttons were made with the Button Studio Tool from Epiphany Crafts.

I would really appreciate it if you visited the blog of "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" and had a look at the projects of all the other designers. They are absolutely wonderful! And maybe you could join us and give this challenge a try?!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Hit the road!

Omdat het vandaag de 3e woensdag van de maand is is vanmorgen de nieuwe schetschallenge bij de Dutch Dares gepubliceerd!! Hij is weer zo leuk! Moet je kijken:

And here's the new Dutch Dares sketch challenge:

leuk he?

This is my take on the sketch. I used the Nook's March scrapbook kit, which is filled with "Miss Caroline" from MME (absolutely awesome), the butterfly is from Dusty Attic. De photos are of my youngest having fun with his niece.

So, if you feel like scrapping why not use the sketch? Don't forget to post a link to your layout at the Dutch Dares blog, sketch 49! Who knows, maybe you'll win this month's RAK or will you be our next guest designer. This dare is open to everyone, national and international!!

Bedankt voor het langskomen en tot snel!

Hugs,
Monique

Girls just wanna have fun!

This week I decided to play along with blog challenge #24 at My Mind's Eye. For the challenge you had to create a layout according to the sketch below and along with the sketch you had to use the theme "Song Lyrics". I had just bought these wonderful MME papers in my LSS (Good Day Sunshine) and they fitted my "scooter" pics perfectly! I chose the song "Girls just wanna have fun" by Cindy Lauper.

This is the sketch:

And here's my layout:

and some close-ups:

The photos are from our girls day out last year September. We hired scooters for a whole day and visited all these old quaint villages in Noord Holland, like Broek in Waterland, Monnickendam and Volendam. We had such a good time!!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!!

I'm so sorry....

... that I didn't get on the DT of My Scrapbook Nook :-( BUT check out the girls who did make it!!! It's such a great team Leah has chosen!!! Can't wait to see what they'll create with the kits in future!!!! Hilde & Mahlin, if you read this, congrats girls!!! So happy for you both!!!

On to the next topic: myStampBOX!

Last Tuesday it was my turn to post on their blog and this is what I made:

For this layout of my youngest I used one of the butterfly stamps from the “Colorful Companions” set for my background. I stamped it various times with Versamark ink so the butterflies wouldn’t be too obvious and therefore just perfect for a background.

Furthermore I used a few flowers from the “Abundant Blossoms” set and the filmstrip from the “Snapshot” set for a little journaling.

I also used my tools from Epiphany Crafts to create the heart in the word "home".

I also made another project, a photo frame:

As it was so terribly hot here in The Netherlands (and I really had had enough of the sun!) I decided on one of my winter photos taken in Disneyland Paris.

For this frame I used three different stamps from the “Road Trip” set (the tag, part of the title and the circle bottom left).

I had so much fun creating these projects and sure hope you’ve enjoyed them too!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Summer holidays and a layout!

Wohoo! Today our summer holidays started for real!! The boys have 6 weeks off and Manon has 9 weeks off (but her holiday started a week and a half ago)!! And I'm soooo proud of them! They have done so well at school this last year. Manon goes up a level because she's too good for the level she's in now and the boys both go on to the next class with perfect grades and remarks!

It's a pity I have to work a few days this week, but the kids spent their day at their grandparents and they all had a blast! Manon got a Wii from them and they've playing the whole day! And last week I took a day off and spent it shopping with Manon in The Hague. We had so much fun! And to thank me she cleaned the whole house the next day while I was working and she was at home. She even wrote me a little note and bought me a bar of white chocolate! <3 I really really hope she stays this way. She's 13 years old and I'm "waiting" for her to turn into this "cool" teenager who doesn't want anything to do with her mother.... (like a few of her friends :-(). Love her to bits!! (well, all of them obviously)

Okay on to my layout!!
Here's the sketch Liz from The Scrappiest sent us last week, I found it a huge pleasure to work with and that probably shows.... (much happier with this layout than the last!).

and my take on it:

For this layout I used my June Nook kit. Filled with lots of MME, So Sophie. The banner, the butterfly and the dog are from October Afternoon, the letters are from MLS.

If you decide to join us this week, don't forget to link your layout to Mr Linky on the blog of The Scrappiest! You never know if you're the one who'll win the prize from Apron Strings!!

This is it for now. Enjoy the lovely weather (at least here in The Netherlands) and thanks for stopping by!!

First 6" x 12" layout!

On Little Shop of Sketches Tanya's new sketch went up!!

Here's sketch #64:

And here's my take on it:

and a few details:

Materials: PP and alphabet stickers: MME So Sophie, metal number: 7Gypsies, brad: Nikki Sivils, stamps: myStampBOX, flower: some old book paper.

The photo is of Manon's shoes.... she's always asking for new shoes because she really NEEDS them!! LOL! Girls!!

If you want to try the sketch too, don't forget to link it to the blog post on Little Shop of Sketches!!!

Furthermore there's a challenge going on over at "These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things". There are lots and lots of prizes to win (last time I looked 28!!!). The challenge this week is to scrap about..... right! SHOES!!!

This is it for now...
I'm going to enjoy my weekend and try to forget I didn't make Nikki Sivils' team :-(....
(did get an email from her telling me I made the top selection, just not the final selection; she's really a wonderful person :-))

Layout for the Creative Scrappers

Thursday there was a special sketch for the DT of the Nook at Creative Scrappers and because I loved what they did with it, I decided to use it for a layout too!
Here's the sketch:
And this is my take on it:

and the details:

I machine stitched a lot, because I love the effect ..... but my sewing machine didn't love it!!! My needle broke while stitching the title and when I had replaced it the tread broke because of all the layers.... but I did finish it in the end! And of course I used the latest kit from the Nook!

Maybe you've noticed I used some pages from a cook book.... that's because I made this layout for one of the challenges from the VC (virtual crop) at the Nook, which started yesterday. This runs until Sunday midnight (american time) so if you have some spare time this weekend and feel like scrapping.... please join us!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!! (I'm off scrapping!!)

New layout for The Scrappiest!

Another week means another sketch from Liz!! Number 60 already!! If you want to see what the other DT members made, please visit the The Scrappiest's blog!!

Here's my take on it:

And because I had just received my Nook kit I knew exactly which papers I was going to use!! Lots of MME this time. Don't you just LOVE those owls??

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!
