Hello Spring | Step-By-Step for My Creative Scrapbook

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a step-by-step for one of the layouts I created with the awesome March Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.

I was thrilled when I saw the contents of this month's kit! Lots of Pink Paislee's/Paige Evans 'Bloom Street' collection and also some products from Shimelle's 'Never Grow Up' collection. I love all collections designed by Paige Evans and this collection was on top of my wish list! Here's the layout for which I wrote the little step-by-step:

I got started by displaying the entire kit on my desk and the photo I wanted to use:

Paper 10 stood out immediately and so my decision to go with that paper was made very quickly. I got out my craft knife and cut several diamond shapes from this paper:

At least one diamond shape had to be large enough to be placed behind my photo:

I organised all the shapes on a white cardstock paper to determine a design for my layout:

Before adhering all these diamond shapes I got out my pink stamping ink and Nuvo blender brush and colored the background paper in a subtle pink shade:

Next I adhered all the shapes:

and glued a long pink machine thread on top:

The matted photo, a journaling card and a flower die-cut & word die-cut came next:

The journaling card needed a bit of machine stitching:

Now I just added a few more stickers and die-cuts, like this sun die-cut:

These two beautifully colored word stickers:

Another word die-cut with beautiful foiled accents:

And I added some extra flowers as one can never have enough flowers!

With a few paint drops and a written date my layout was done! Hope you like it!

Here's a photo of the March Main Kit:

Awesome, right?

My Dream Wouldn't Be Complete | JustNick Studio

Hi friends! Last Tuesday I was up on JustNick's blog with a layout using this super cute "Floral Umbrella" cut file from JustNick Studio. When Echo Park's collection "Alice In Wonderland" was released I was one of the first to buy it. But when it arrived I didn't know what to use it for and it ended it up in my pile of scrapbook papers. This cut file made me think of that collection straight away, so I looked for some fun photos and got started. Here's what I made:

Isn't this Floral Umbrella cut file just perfect?!!

I enlarged the cut file a little and adhered lots of different patterned papers behind it:

I just love how this looks already! Now the fun part started! Don't get me wrong, I love backing cut files as well, I just love building my page more. I contemplated whether or not I shoud add watercolor paint behind the umbrella, but decided against it and to go with a clean white backgroud with only a couple of paint drops.

The place of the photo strip was easy, that had to come left of the umbrella shaft with a journaling card on the right. Next I only had to add some die-cuts and stickers. When I was done I decided to add a blue cardstock behind my page to add a bit more color.

Here are a few close-ups:

Of course I machine stitched around my page, on the cut file and a bit here and there on my layout.

I really love how this turned out.

Lots of fabulous new cut files are added to the JustNick Studio Store! Don't forget to check them all out!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Wishing you a wonderful week.

You Are My Sunshine | My Creative Scrapbook March Main Kit

Hello everyone! Are you enjoying your Sunday as much as I am? I love my days off, so I can have coffee at a friend in the morning, take long strolls with my puppy, catch up on my reading and scrap a bit of course!

Today I thought I'd share one of the layouts I created with the fabulous March Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This kit is filled with the Bloom Street collection from Pink Paislee/Paige Evans (papers, stickers and die-cuts), but also has an extra packet of flowers from Shimelle.

For this layout I mostly used paper 24. My favorite paper in this collection!!
And a few close-ups:

I Love You Always | Monique Liedtke

Hi friends! I'm up on JustNick's blog sharing another heart layout with my Spaniel puppy as the subject of my love. The cut file I used for this page is called "Doodle Floral Heart Outline", my new favorite cut file!

This is the cut file I used, isn't it a beauty?!

Once again I used Doodlebug Design's "Love Notes" collection for my layout. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Doodlebug and adore the bright & happy colors and designs in this collection.

What I love about this cut file is the possibility to use lots of different papers to fill all the little spaces.

I used the 6" x 6" paper pad to fill all the flowers, but a 12" x 12" sheet to back the entire heart. I love the effect this gives, with the left half of the heart empty of any designs.

I just love stitching on all of my projects, so that's what I did here as well.

I used little enamel hearts to fill all the centres of the flowers

I love all the heart and love cut files Nicole added to the JustNick shop! Don't forget to hop over and check them out!

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to have a look at my page.

You & Me | Pretty Little Studio

Hello friends! I totally forgot to share the Valentine’s layout I created for Pretty Little Studio. It's not an ordinary Valentine’s layout, but one with photos of each of my kids with our sweet English Cocker Spaniel puppy. They all love her so much! So for me these photos were an obvious choice when I decided to scrap a Valentine’s layout. I mainly used the totally awesome “XOXO” collection. This collection is an older one, but it’s still one of my favorites. Here’s my layout:

I really love the strip with the three photos, they are so easy to scrap! Using a template with little squares and some pink stamping ink I added a few pink squares on my white cardstock background as well as some pink paint splatter.

On the left side of my photos I created a little cluster with a white tag, some die-cuts and a clear adhesive strip with little xxx’s. These are from the “Document Life” collection.

The cut file “heart this” is not from Pretty Little Studio, but comes from my stash.
I also created a cluster on the right side of my photos with a journaling card with little hearts, a 2×2 card and some die-cuts. I love the word “love” in black amongst all the colors.

Here’s what I used for my layout: XOXO collection: 8×8 paper pack, 4×2 Paper Pack; Cut-Aparts: Perfect Match Word Flags; Die-Cuts: Blooming Love, For Always Tags, Hello Lovely Words, Love You; Journaling Cards: Love This 3×4. Document Life collection: Stickers: Stitches Clear. With All My Heart collection: Stickers: Love Story Words.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and taking a peek at my page. I hope you like it! Please visit the Pretty Little Studio Shop to take a look at all the fabulous collections!
