Heck Yes! | My Creative Scrapbook | Vicki Boutin

Hello friends! For today's layout I used the June Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook which features the Let's Wander collection from Vicki Boutin. As soon as I opened the kit I knew that I was going to use the "Day Tripping" paper first! I totally love the many different colors and the design in this sheet.

Here's the layout I created using two small photos (6.5 cm x 8.5 cm) from our vacation in Greece last year.

Here's a quick walk through how I created this layout.

As always, I started with displaying the contents of the entire kit on my table, so I could easily choose my papers and embellishments:

I think this is my favorite kit from My Creative Scrapbook ever! I love every single thing in this kit! However, choosing my favorite paper wasn't hard, the "Day Tripping" paper had it all! So I got started with that sheet and cut off one third and used the 8"x 12" that remained:

Before adhering this to my white cardstock background I cut all the triangles apart and used my small Tim Holtz distresser to distress all sides of the triangles:

When I was done distressing I adhered the triangles in the same order they were before, using only a tiny bit of adhesive as I wanted to machine stitch all sides and fold them up a bit (therefore I added the adhesive in the middle of the triangles):

I chose two photos and matted them. Next I placed these where all triangles met:

Because I wanted to add lots of embellishments I adhered the photos again with only the tinniest bit of adhesive which allowed me to slide cards and die-cuts beneath:

The journaling, a piece of string through the tag and white and silver paint drops came last and I was done! Here are a few close-ups of the end result:

This is it! Hope you like it!

Best Dad | Pretty Little Studio

Happy Saturday y'all! This week the Pretty Little Studio team is sharing their Father’s Day projects and here’s the layout I made (not a layout about my father, but about my hubby celebrating Father's Day with our kids). I had so much fun creating this one!

For my layout I used the colorful “Fun in the Sun” collection and I have to say I’m loving the result! The photos are of my husband receiving his Father’s Day presents from our three kids. We had a bit of a laugh as our daughter gave him a toilet brush, which was shaped like a flamingo!

To create this page I punched a whole lot of 1″ circles which I then cut in half and placed in three large circles on a white cardstock background. The space between the three circles measures approx. 1″. Before adding the two photos and the embellishments I added machine stitching to all three circles first.

After finding the best place for my two 6 cm x 9 cm photos I added the embellishments: a few die-cuts, a little journaling spot, a word sticker and the title of course:

Of course I also wrote a few lines about the present my daughter gave her father.

I really love the happy colors of this collection and although it’s meant to be a summer’s collection it’s just so versatile, it can be used for photos of any occasion!

Here’s a list of what I used: Fun in the Sun collection: 8×8 paper pack; Die-Cuts: Best Days Black, Good Vibes, At the Beach; Stickers: Mini ABC Frutti Tutti, Summer Words Cherry.

This is it for me today! Thank you all for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful day!

Happy Escape | Vicki Boutin | My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit

Hi friends! Last week my June Main Kit from the My Creative Scrapbook kit club arrived here in the Netherlands after a long journey at sea and I was so happy to finally be able to dig in!! Here's the first one of my layouts:

This kit is filled with the Let's Wander collection from Vicki Boutin which I adore! This layout is about the social distancing we had to maintain these last few months. After staying at home for weeks I just had to get out of the house to enjoy a coffee with my friend. We made sure we had 1.5 meters between us at all times and we had a great time!

For this layout I punched a whole lot of 1" circles and cut them in half. I adhered them in straight lines on my page and then added some machine stitching. The "happy" is one of the free (MCS subscriber) cut files for June.

Here are a few more close-ups:

Make Your Own Rainbow | Pretty Little Studio

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing another Color Me Happy layout I created for Pretty Little Studio. This collection really does make me happy so I couldn’t resist using it once again. I created this page of my daughter having a latte and a waffle with me, back in the beginning of March. Who knew it would be one of the last days we could enjoy a coffee in a cafĂ©?!

I’m so glad Melissa decided to include 12″ x 12″ papers in this collection. I’m using them quite a lot, like here on both the left and right side of my layout. Before I stitched them to my background I added a small strip of yellow cardstock to mark the line between the patterned paper and my white background cardstock.

I started my page with the two vertical strips of patterned (heart) paper and the strip of yellow cardstock. Next I added the “Make Your Own Rainbow” card, which is actually part of the packaging of one of the die-cuts packages.

Then I placed the two photos on my page and matted only the one at the top of my page. I created a little cluster around both of them. Here’s the photo & cluster at the top of my page (the cut file is from my stash and right now I can’t find where I got it from):

And this is the photo & cluster at the bottom of my page:

In between the photos I added a little block with journaling. After I had adhered this, I added lots of machine stitching and a few Nuvo drops and I was done! Here’s a quick photo of one of the super cute die-cuts:

Don’t you just adore this collection too?!

Here’s a list of what I used for my layout: Color Me Happy collection: 12 x 12 paper pack, 8 x 8 paper pack; Die-Cuts: Over The Rainbow, Merry Go Round; Stickers: Starbright Words; Word Flags: Wild At Heart.

This is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek at my page. Don’t forget to check out the Color Me Happy collection in the Pretty Little Studio store! Wishing you a happy day and stay safe!

Monique

Adventures | Crate Paper Magical Forest | JustNick Studio

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing my very last layout created for JustNick. I've had a great time on Nicole's team working with her amazing cut file and am sad to say goodbye, but after two years it felt like the right thing to do. For today I used the beautiful "Floral Ring 3" cut file to create this fun spring layout of my daughter and our puppy:

This is the cut file I used: Floral Ring 3

Isn't this cut file beautiful?! I wanted to scrap these spring photos and thought this cut file was just perfect! I also use Crate Paper's Magical Forest collection with it's soft colors and fun designs:

I love how delicate the flowers and stems of the cut file are and I love that there are multiple circles:

Using the sewing machine I sewed over the circles three times for some extra texture. I just love the effect!

In the middle of the circle I placed two clusters with a small photo each and some die-cuts & stickers and connected these two clusters with another cluster right in the middle of the circle:

The cluster at the top:

The cluster in the middle of the circle:

The cluster at the bottom of the circle:

For the finishing touch I decided to add a few Nuvo drops instead of paint drops (what I normally do). I really love these Nuvo drops and don't understand I didn't use them before!

This was it. Hope you like it! Thank you so much for all your love I got for my JustNick projects over the last two years! I've such a great time and hope to see you all again on Instagram or Facebook. Don't forget to visit the JustNick store to grab this cut file or one of the many others.
