Purple Pumpkin May Sketch Challenge!

Can believe it's May already!! Where did the time go? I've got the feeling we just celebrated Christmas! (still have to finish the last 5 days of my December Daily!) I don't want the time to pass so fast ... in August my little girl (17 :) ) will be off to the US to attend High School for a year. I'm so proud of her, but I'm also dreading the months she'll be away .... so please let the time go a bit slower.

Okay, enough rambling about the time, on to the new sketch challenge for Purple Pumkin!! I chose these pics of my funny youngest which go perfectly with this fun October Afternoon (Daily Flash) collection and of course a few goodies from the Purple Pumpkin store, like the Elmo button (Elmo used to be Mats' very very favorite cuddly toy!), the tickets and the washi tape:

and a few close-ups:

And this is the sketch Lizzy created for us:

Love You - Flower Stencils Amanda Robinson Studio

New in Amanda Robinson Studio's shop this week are these awesome Flower Stencils which can be paired with vinyl or acetate to make your own stencils or just as easily used as die cuts on your pages and projects!

Here's what I did, I used the negative flower stencil as a frame for my photo while tucking the larger positive stencil between a few of the patterned paper mats.

I used the September 2013 Jenni Bowlin papercrafting kit for this page. Love the colors of this kit! When fastening my cuts to my page I love to use a stapler like the tiny attacher from Tim Holtz:

The washi tape and dotted button are from the Purple Pumpkin store.

And this is the cutting file I used:

Available in Amanda Robinson Studio's store for only $ 1.50.

Valentina used the flower cutting file as a stencil to mist on her cards. Visit Amanda Robinson Studio's blog to check it out!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

I heart Brussels - Jenni Bowlin

I almost forgot to share this last layout made for the Jenni Bowlin online crop. This layout I created for Leah's challenge "make the main shape featured on your layout a circle". So here's what I made, a layout using the JBS papercrafting kit from July 2013:

The photos were taken while we were in Brussels for a couple of days last February. Our very first vacation with just 4 of us, as Manon was skying in Austria with school.

To accentuate the circles I embroidered and journaled around them and placed some flairs or buttons in them:

This spotted fabric button is from the Purple Pumpkin shop:

as is this one:

The other 3 flairs are from Simple Stories-Sn@p. (the flairs and buttons were not included in the kit).

And a quick pic of the JBS July 2013 papercrafting kit

The online crop and the challenges are over now, but then I read on the JBS blog this:

"We're also excited to announce the winners of our Spring Crop!  We loved the entries so much that we've chosen TWO Grand Prize Winners!  These talented scrappers will be showcasing our kits as guests in the upcoming months! Without further ado, our Grand Prize Winners are . . . Monique Liedtke and Evie at Artful Scrapbooking!  Congratulations, ladies!"

Wohoo!! How awesome is that?!!

And now I'm off to scrap some more! Have a fab weekend everyone and thank you so much for stopping by!

Purple Pumpkin April challenge!

Every month at Purple Pumpkin we have a fun sketch challenge and the sketch for this month was designed by me! and so I would love it if you would join us this month and tried my sketch (you don't have to use any PP products, but you could win a few!!)!

Here's what I made, a layout about my husband, daughter and son exploring the Vesuvius in 2012. As the summer holidays started a few weeks sooner for Manon and Tim, my husband decided to treat them to a week Naples, Italy. They had a blast!

I used Imaginisce's "Perfect Vacation" for my layout and some Purple Pumpkin goodies of course.

The tickets, twine and washi tape are from Purple Pumkin.

Supplies: patterned paper, journaling card and diecuts: Imaginisce "Perfect Vacation"; cardstock: American Crafts; washi tape, twine, tickets: Purple Pumpkin; wood veneer: Studio Calico; black words: Dymo writer; color mist: Mister Huey's Studio Calico;

And here's the sketch I designed for this month:

(if you wonder why I added triangles to the right side of my layout too, it's because I tried my hand at some stamping and hated it. So I had to cover it up!).

If you want to see the fabulous projects of the other designers, then hop over to Purple Pumpkin's blog and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks in advance for all your lovely comments!!

Live while we're young - JBS layout

To complete the challenges of the JBS online crop from last weekend we've got until March 31. So that gave me today to finish another challenge. This time I decided on Doris's challenge: "add some current song lyrics to a page and also just a touch of your own handwriting".

If you mention the word "song lyrics" in this house, 1Direction is what comes to mind. So One Direction it is:

The papers are from the JBS October 2013 papercrafting kit: Crate's "Close Knit" plus I added a few goodies from my Purple Pumpkin stash (crochet doily, dotted fabric button, washi tape, tickets).

A few close-ups: for the challenge you had to add some handwriting:

The title is from the song lyrics and created with my Silhouette Cameo:

Purple Pumpkin stuff:

The radio is hand cut from one of the Crate Paper sheets, the washi is from Purple Pumpkin and the gold thingies are from the JBS kit.

Okay this is it for today! Off to walk the dog (she keeps telling me that it's alread past 5 pm, which is the time we normally take a walk).

Hope to see you back soon!!
Hugs,
