Without Trainers!

As Monday has been and gone I can show you Liz' new sketch and my take on it!!

This is sketch #83!

And here's my layout:

Photos are of Mats learning to cycle without the trainers on his bike. He didn't want us to take them off, but we told him that as he was 5 years old it was high time he learned to cycle without them. He then told us that of course he could cycle without them, but that he just didn't "feel" like it! and indeed! When we took them off he cycled away, just like that!! He had been fooling us all!!

Used lots of Sassafras again (from my September Nook kit) and of course my shapes from Epiphany Crafts!!

And here a few details:

If you want to have a look at the layouts of the other dt members, hop over to the The Scrappiest blog!! There's so much inspiration to be found there! And don't forget, if you use this sketch too and link it to Mr Linky on the The Scrappiest blog then you can win a FAB prize!!

Happy crafting!

a day out on the scooter!!!
We chose the "old Dutch villages route" ("oud Hollandse dorpen route") which led us through lots of quaint old villages like Monnickendam, Volendam, Edam, Broek in Waterland etc.
Don't you just love Volendam???

and when in Volendam...... ROFL!!!

Looking forward to our next trip in 2011!!!!

I know it's Thursday today, but I totally forgot yesterday!!

So here's an idea for you.... browsing the internet I found this wonderful idea by Camilla Ekman: a plaited frame!!

"Naar School" (back to school) layout

On the blog of Your Scrapbook Stash I found a great sketch by Julie Bonner and as she's one of my fav scrappers I just had to use it!

This is her sketch:
And here's my layout:

Tim on his way to school. It's the first day of his final year in primary school (group 8). How time flies! He's very "cool" about it, but I'm a little nervous about this coming year.... he still seems so young to be leaving primary school soon.

I used lots of Sassafras, Indie Girl (again), and the button on the top right side is (of course) from Epiphany Crafts. I'm so happy with these tools because now I always have buttons which match exactly!!

A few details:
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Two Inkido layouts

Every other Saturday it's my turn to show my layouts on Inkido's blog and last Saturday was one of them!

Here are the layouts I created with their wonderful (!) products. Both of them winter layouts.....

Winter Wonder Land:

The photos are from our trip to Disneyland Paris last December. Disney was so beautiful in the white snow! (but our feet were frozen!!). And now you'll probably want to know the name of these gorgeous papers? Here they are: Autumn Friendship (Claudia), Christmas Elegance (Snow Fall Stripes), Tuva (Lagoon) and Mathea (Golden Glow).

A few details:

And here's my other layout, made with the same papers but totally different:

Every year during the Christmas holidays we have a little ice skating ring in the centre of our town. And even though it's not very big the kids think it's fantastic and can't stay away!

For this layout I used Autumn Friendship (Claudia and Anita), Tuva (Lagoon), Christmas Elegance (Snow Fall Stripes), some (corrugated) cardstock and of course some of those beautiful flowers, leaves and a charm. The two buttons (dots on the "i") are epoxy shapes from Epiphany Crafts!

Thanks for stopping by and if you like these products then hop over to Inkido's blog for so much more inspiration!!!

By the way, Inkido wants to expand their markets, so if you know of a store who would be interested in selling these gorgeous products please send an email, either to me or the Inkido themselves and who knows...!

Monique

MyStampBOX blogpost!

Last Friday it was my (monthly) turn to showcase my projects on the blog of MyStampBOX.

Last month I received a whole bunch of new stamp sets from Bettina and they were so cute I just had to use them straight away!!! They are so versatile, I could use them on every single layout and card I create!

With the stamp sets “Review Time” and "Mini Alpha Small Box" I created this layout about my son’s book party at school! The subject of Mats' class was the book "Pluk van de Petteflet" (Annie M.G. Schmidt). In The Netherlands every child has (or knows) this book, but I have no idea if it's translated. Mats was dressed like the "heen-en-weer wolf.
some details:

and some super cute embellishments from My Little Bit of Whimsy:

Don't you just love this birdie??? It's Dolly the dove from the book.

And just for fun I created a birthday card, using the set "Lines of Life":

The papers are from a DCWV paper stack my dh bought me when he was in the US last month.

Apart from these wonderful stamp sets I used the Helmar Adhesive Runner Bettina sent me. Helmar is one of the product partners from myStampBOX and I got to play with their adhesives for the very first time. And you know what??? I discovered it’s the best adhesive I EVER used!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you'll have a wonderful Sunday!

The Scrappiest!

Every week Liz has a new sketch for us and this week is no exception!

Here's sketch #81

And here's my layout:

Papers and borders (and flowers, buttons and pins) are from my August Nook kit (again): Sassafras Indie Girl, letter stickers are from MLS, mushroom from My Little Bit of Whimsy, flowers are from BoBunny, pins are from Jenni Bowlin, spray ink is from Ranger, leaves are from Prima, journaling cards are from Heidi Swapp and Jenni Bowlin, and tickets & mask are from Tim Holz.

Photos are from Mats on his 4th birthday. Here he plays with his plastic "4", the best gift ever!

Some close-ups:

If you want to see what the rest of the team created with the sketch hop over to The Scrappiest! And don't forget, if you try the sketch yourself you can win a $25.00 gift certificate to Memorable Seasons!
(and if you wonder why my layout isn't shown on the blog, it's because Liz is moving house and probably forgot... too busy!).

This is it! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back tomorrow!

Upsy Daisy sketch

On Upsy Daisy's blog I found this wonderful sketch and by now you probably know that I can't resist a good sketch!

This is their sketch:
And this is my layout:

For this page I used the Upsy Daisy's "A New Day" line. I love the red/white/blue combination!

Btw, don't you think Manon looks exactly like a (English) school mistress with her grandfather's specs???

Here's a close-up for you:

If you want to see the layout of the Upsy Daisy design team have a look HERE!!

Thanks for your visit and hope you'll be back soon!

Nook "University" classes!

This September My Scrapbook Nook is having a "Nook U" with lots of challenges/classes to participate in.

This page I did for the "Home Economics" class. You had to create a layout using machine stitching and ribbon or fabric.

The photos were taken during our summer holidays in Denmark: Timothy and Patrick enjoying a coke 2gether! Papers are from Upsy Daisy and the epoxy shapes are from Epiphany Crafts.

And these little cards were made for Scoobie's class "Economics".

Papers are from the August Nook kit.

Thanks for stopping by and if you need some inspiration hop on over to the Nook!!

Two new INKIDO layouts!

Yesterday was my turn to show what I had created with my Inkido products.

Here's what I made: the first is a layout of Manon fooling around with a book cover on her head! I don't know what it is about her, but everything looks good on her, even book covers!!

aren't the metal charms beautiful???

And here's a totally different layout, a Halloween one!

Used my QK to create the witch. I bought the die last year and hadn't used it, but wanted to quite often... now I had the opportunity!
If you want to see more designs made with INKIDO products have a look at their blog!

For now have a happy Sunday and hope to see you back soon!

Hugs,
Monique
