Thursday sketch Elle's Studio

Yesterday I had a fab evening of scrapping with my friend Conny. When I scrap with friends I love to use a sketch and a kit ... in this case I used Thursday's sketch from Elle's Studio and the April kit from the Scraptastic Club

The photos were taken during our vacation in France last year. We were in Anduze, a little town in the Cévennes. I've been coming here for almost 40 years and I still LOVE it!

and here's the sketch from Elle's Studio:

The template I used for misting my background came from Paper Issues. LOVE it! Here you'll also find LOTS of Elle's Studio products! and if you use my code "MONIQUE" you'll get a 20% discount on your entire purchase!

Thanks for stopping by my blog again today!

Doodlebug Cap and Gown collection!

Not so long ago a whole box of new Doodlebug goodies arrived on my doorstep! In it was this fabulous new collection "Cap & Gown". Isn't it wonderful?!!

I got started straight away and made a layout and a card. Although the photo I used is one from our vacation, I think it fits perfectly!

and a few close-ups:

I've used my Silhouette Cameo for several of the designs on my layout.

And here's the card ... I just had to use that super sweet owl:

Paper Issues Birthday Bash! - Now Closed

The Paper Issues creative team is celebrating Cassie Box' (the owner of Paper Issues) birthday in a big way this week. This is not just a one day celebration, but a whole five days — five days full of fun and giveaways. Usually the birthday girl would be getting the gifts, but instead the creative team is giving away some wonderful gifts.

One of my lucky followers will receive the prize shown below: the My Little Shoebox collection "Lovely Day" (you'll get 2 of each sheet of patterned paper).

All you have to do is follow my blog and "like" Paper Issues' FB page - then leave me a message that you have done the above!

I will randomly draw a winner April 29th and announce it here! Wishing you all good luck!

There will be plenty of activity on the Paper Issues Facebook page all week so keep checking in so you don't miss a chance to win some great prizes. Good luck!

Thanks for visiting!!

IMAGINISCE & THE TWINERY BLOG HOP!!

Hi everyone! A very happy Wednesday to you!!

This week Imaginisce is teaming up with The Twinery! The whole week projects are being shown on both Imaginisce's and The Twinery's blogs on how to incorporate twine in your projects. Every day designers from both Imaginisce and The Twinery will show you what they've created. And there's even more good news: if you leave comments on every blogpost you can win this from Imaginisce: a collection package of Endless Summer, an I-Rock tool and a compact of Hot Rocks!

And from The Twinery a choice of 3 spools of twine!

And now on to the project I created for you:

and a close-up:

Supplies: Imaginisce patterned papers (Endless Summer, Childhood Memories), stamp (Endless Summer), sticker stacker (Endless Summer), oversized die cuts (Endless Summer), glam rocks (rhinestuds). The Twinery "Lemondrop" and "Caribbean" twine. Other supplies: cardstock: American Crafts; stamp: Making Memories; chipboard arrows: Maya Road; wood veneer word bubble & Mister Huey's color mist: Studio Calico; stamping ink: Doodlebug (tangerine), StazOnn (black), ColorBox (yellow); tag: misc.; Tools: Silhouette Cameo, I-Rock, sewing machine.

As you can see I used the twine to sew the title onto my layout and to accentuate the stamped image of the sun. I just love to use Twine on my pages! It gives it just the little extra I'm often looking for!

A little tip if you want to sew a word on your layout. First start with looking for a fun font in Word and decide on the size. Then print the word on a piece of paper, place it on your page (I always hold my layout against the window to better see where to place it) and then pierce holes through the printed paper straight into your layout! Next step: Sew! That's all ... very easy, but a great effect!

And now it's time for one of your next stops on this "Wednesday" hop:

- Imaginisce
- Guiseppa Gubler
- Suzanne Lee
&
- The Twinery
- Ashley Bores
- Karola Witczak

Thank you so much for stopping by today and hope to see you back soon!

Hugs,
Monique

Imaginisce Color Challenge!

This week Imaginisce is having a color challenge on their blog and this is the color combination used:

My layout was up on their blog last Wednesday. These photos were taken during the Easter celebration at my youngest's school. Every year on the Thursday before Easter they start with morning exercises followed by an Easter breakfast. All the teachers and children come to school in their pyjamas. This is such a fun and happy morning that I just had to scrap it!

and a few close-ups (btw, the "Spring" sticker is Doodlebug's).

Supplies Used: Imaginisce (Good Dog: patterned paper; Childhood Memories: patterned paper, sticker stacker). Other Supplies used: Adhesive: Xyron Mega Runner, American Crafts: cardstock, Doodlebug sticker and twine, Studio Calico wood veneer and color mist, Tim Holtz staples. Tools: Silhouette Cameo, Tim Holtz' Tiny Attacher.

Challenge to You:
We'd also like to have you join in on this challenge and create something using this color piece. Post your work on Imaginisce's Facebook page or leave a comment on the posts on Imaginisce's blog this week with a link to your project. We'd love to share your work on our blog this Friday for our i-spy feature.

Okay, dit was het weer! Bedankt voor het langskomen!!
Groetjes en tot snel!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!!

AFSC Sketch Challenge!

It's been the 15th of the month again and that means there's a brand new sketch challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

As I badly needed some sunshine after our very long winter, I've used Echo Park's "Hello Summer" collection for my page. Until last Sunday we hadn't had one ray of sun for the entire year! Okay, probably a bit exaggerated, but that's how it felt to me.

Here's my page (another photo from our holiday in Barcelona!):

and a few close-ups:

and this is the sketch:

Instead of the 3 circles I've used 3 clouds ... a bit of sketchy freedom, LOL.

Again, if you like the sketch then please join us this month at AFSC!!! We would really love you too and there's a nice prize up for grabs!! Hop over to AFSC's blog and have a look at all the other fabulous layouts the design team made!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon as I have some fantastic news to share!! Wohoo!

Best Friends!

Lief he?

Today I've got a layout for you I created just because I felt like it! I had these beautiful Jillibean Soup papers (Grandma's Lima Bean Soup) lying on my desk and next to them this photo of my youngest with our Jippie (taken during our vacation in France last year) and I just had to get started! So I did and this is the result:

The stamps are from Jessica at the "Scraptastic Club". I hoard stamps and I've decided to start actually using them!

We had such fantastic weather today! It was warm and sunny for the very first time this year and I've enjoyed every minute of it! I've cleaned the garden for a few hours (not enough!) and started on my brand new book from Peter Robinson (watching the dark). Bliss!!!!!

Bedankt dat je weer langs geweest bent! Fijne week verder!

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your week!!

I went a bit wild ...

... with this layout, LOL! I don't know what happened ... me, who normally always scraps straight and plans every step very carefully, just misted, stamped, splashed with paint, tore and handcut my paper and sewed  this page in half an hour! and I think I actually like it!

This morning I found this sketch challenge on Elle's Studio and saved it onto my computer for later use. But then this afternoon, when I started to clean my desk I realized I didn't want to clean at all! I wanted to play!! and that's what I did ... I printed the sketch and a photo from our summer holiday from last year and just used all these new purchases that were lying on my desk, including the tags from Elle's Studio, and I LOVED it!

I even used my new paints and mask!

and this is the sketch (hope you can still recognize it!).

I got it from Elle's Studio, HERE.

Supplies: patterned paper, washi tape, stamp (today): Glitz Design (Color me Happy); tags and notes: Elle's Studio; kraft cardstock: American Crafts; flair buttons: Stash Panache; camera paper clips: Prima Marketing; Kraft tag: Papermania; date stamp: Amy Tangerine; mask: Kesi'Art; stamping ink: Doodlebug (tangerine) and Archival (black); distress stain: Tim Holtz (squeezed lemonade); color mists: Mister Huey's (gold, taxi, pretty pink); doilies: misc. Tools: sewing machine and Cameo.

And now I've got to walk the dog! When I'm scrapping I tend to forget about the time and all of a sudden it's evening and I should have walked with Jippie, done some shopping and cooking and instead I did none! So that's what I'll do now!

Have a fabulous weekend!! (I think Sunday we're finally getting some sun! hurray!!!)

Thanks for stopping by!
