Back to School with Doodlebug!

And for today I have yet another "Back to School" layout, this time using Doodlebug's "Take Note" collection. This time featuring my daughter with her pile of school books (all with bright new covers!)

Back to School - Imaginisce

Although we still have another 2 weeks before the kids have to go back to school, for a lot of other kids the new school term has already started! Every year when the kids start their new term at school I take a lot of photos and every year I wait until the next summer holidays before I scrap them. And that's what I did now as well ....

This is my youngest's first day in group 4 (in 2 weeks time he'll be starting in group 5). Happily reading a magazine (Donald Duck) while waiting for either Marja or Natascha (his teachers) to start the lessons.

and a few close-ups:

I used Imaginisce's Childhood Memories collection (I adore the colors of this collection and of course that camera!) and lots of Silhouette cuts to create this page. For the finishing touch I (machine) stitched along a few edges.

Thanks once again for visiting my blog! Wishing you a wonderful day.

Upside Down - Scraptastic Club & Elle's Studio

A few days ago I scrapped this page and now I almost forgot to share it! I made this with the Thursday sketch at Elle's Studio using the May kit (Destination Unknown) from Scraptastic Club.

The photo is my dd practising standing on her hands and all of a sudden she got it! (although at one time I heard her crash into my desk, which stands on her rightside!)

Do you notice I've tried something new on this page? I wanted to use my mists a bit more than I usually do and instead of just adding spatters to my page, I drew lines with the "spray stick" that's on the inside of the spray bottles. I must say I'm not totally happy with the result .... one of the reasons being that the AC/Dear Lizzy paper didn't like the water and started to "unravel" straight away and I almost ended up with a big hole in my page.

Here're a few close-ups:

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Hope you'll have a great day!

Guesting at Pretty Little Studio!

So, as of September 1 I'll be on the design team of Pretty Little Studio, but before that I got to be their August guest designer!

My first assignment was to join in today's sketch challenge!

Here's my page:

When I first saw the “Nature Walk” collection I knew I had to have it! This collection is so super cute and utterly perfect for so many photos. Take for example this photo of my youngest watching a squirrel in a park in New York. In The Netherlands we rarely see any squirrels, so my son was totally in awe when he spotted this one and when the squirrel hopped near, my son had the time of his life. Of course I had to scrap this moment and I couldn’t find a collection better suited for this photo than “Nature Walk”!

Here're a few close-ups:

I really love all the diecuts and picture cards with these cute little animals in this collection!! Have a look in PLS' online shop to see the complete collection.

This is the sketch my layout is based upon:

I would love it if you would stop by Pretty Little Studio's blog and left me a comment, especially as it's the first time a project of mine is shown there :) .

Thanks for visiting my blog and have a wonderful day!

Doodlebug "July Daily" mini album

I love creating mini albums, but as they cost so much time to create I often opt for a quicker scrapbook project like a layout or a card. But not this time! I love Doodlebug's "Take Note" collection so much, that I decided to create a "July Daily".

Here's what I made:

The cover, with a sun (or flower) created with those awesome Doodlebug buttons.

The inner pages:

July 2013:

July 1: Waving Timothy goodbye when he leaves for one of the last days at school before the summer holidays. July 2: Found an Easter egg no-one discovered in April!

July 3: Scrapbook UK magazine arrived on my doorstep with my first written article in it! July 4: Having lunch in the Hema with Manon during my lunch break.

July 5: All Timothy does in his free time is playing on his PlayStation 3. July 6: Patrick is preparing the barbecue while I quietly read my book ... bliss!

July 7: Going to the movies with Astrid. We saw "Now You See Me" (awesome film!). July 8: Mats and his best friend at school. July 9: My father turned 75!!!

July 10: Leaving party Mats' class and eating an ice cream with "smurfen" ice (blue). July 11: Wohoo, I got a new laptop!!!

July 12: Mats brings home an AWESOME school report!! WTG son! Also July 12: Patrick, Manon and Tim arrive in Portugal for a week long (extra) vacation! (Mats still has to go to school for another week so we stay home.)

July 13: Manon reads a book a day! July 16: Tim and Manon para gliding! July 17: Patrick, Manon & Tim booked a bus tour and are discovering more of Portugal than just Praia da Oura and Albufeira.

Another July 17 shot:

Okay, this was the first half of my July Daily. The next half will follow soon!

Supplies: mainly Doodlebug's Take Note collection, including patterned papers, 6x6 paper pad, stickers, 4x6 simply put cards, border stickers, teensy type alpha stickers, doodle pops, washi tape. I used some bits and pieces of other Doodlebug collections.

For more Doodlebug mini albums, make sure you visit DB's blog!!

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping and hope to see you back soon!

Celebrating Scraptastic Club's 3rd anniversary!

Last weekend there was a celebration over at Scraptastic Club Kit Club as they were celebrating their 3rd anniversary! There were lots of games, challenges and prizes and of course I joined in the fun!!

One of the challenges I participated in was Jennie's "Press Repeat" challenge: use an element at least 3 times on your page.

Here's what I made using mostly Simple Stories "I {heart} Summer" from Scraptastic Club's July kit "Rock Lobster":

This kit is just perfect for the photos of our cruise! I've used the 3 elements challenge a couple of times on my page: 3 background papers, 3 bingo cards, 3 little fish stickers, a title consisting of 3 words, 3 brads, 3 arrows and 3 red cardstock elements).

A few close-ups:

I really loved this challenge and hope I'll find the time to complete another one! (There's time until Friday to complete the challenges!)

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!
