Scraptastic September Layouts

Hi everyone! For today I've got two layouts to share, both created with the oh so beautiful "The Girl" kit and add-on and stamp set from Scraptastic Club.

The first one is "Love This", my 17 year old daughter trying on hats in a clothes store in Benidorm, Spain where we were on vacation last May.

The "The Girl" kit & add-on contain so many fabulous embellishments that I just couldn't choose only a few and ended up adding more and more .... My favorite piece in this kit is this butterflies wood veneer:

And I'm a huge fan of flair buttons, I could easily add them to all of my layouts:

And I love glitters! So I had to use the bow tie with the glitters and the awesome glitter washi tape:

For my next layout I used an Instagram photo, once again of my daughter (well, with a kit that's called "The Girl" she was my obvious choice, even though I've also got two boys!):

This photo was also taken on a vacation, but to Antwerp, Belgium this time. Even though Antwerp is only an hour and a half away (by car), we don't go there very often. Which is definitely a shame as we found the most amazing little shops. Like this one where they sold cushions in the shape of a huge moustach (regretted it for weeks not buying it!).

A few close-ups of all the fab goodies from the kit;

Here you see two of the stamps I used: the journaling spot and the circle arrow:

I'm totally in love with these Heidi Swapp butterfly paper clips:

 And a cluster of embellishments:

I know there are lots of scrappers who claim that "less is more", but I really can't do it. I just have to add as much as I can to my pages.

And of course I've gotta show you what the kit looks like:

And that's it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Back to School Notebooks and a giveaway !! - Ruby Rock-It

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing my last project for Ruby Rock-It. I've decided not to re-apply for the next term even though I've absolutely loved creating for them!! Erin is the best and I'll miss her dearly! And because this is my last Ruby Rock-It project I've decided to do a little giveaway. You'll find the details at the bottom of my post.

For today's Ruby Rock-It "Back to School" feature I decided to dress-up these fun little notebooks. I don't know about you, but my kids and I always carry around little booklets like these: my kids to school and I, well I bring them everywhere I go.

When I bought these "bare" notebooks at a local shop they looked like this:

And because I'm always on the look out for fun projects to alter or dress up I bought them. For today they came in very handy! I used the "Bella! Kinda Krafty Paperz" which were of course perfect for these kraft booklets.

I loved the journaling cards from the sheet "Journal It" and decided to use those for the front. The words were cut from the sheet "Kinda Krafty, Chatterbox":

For a little more contrast I used a black pen to doodle along the side of the background paper:

The bookmark is a tag cut from one of the sheets of the "Kinda Krafty" collection ("Tag It") and adhered with two strings of twine, to which I attached a little metal heart.

Now, as I can't wait to see what you would do with these (bare) notebooks I decided to do a little

giveaway

I'm giving away a set of 3 bare notebooks to dress up with some Ruby Rock-It products (which I'll also send you). All you have to do is leave me a comment (make sure you'll add your email address, so I can email you!). A winner will be announced a week later. Open to everyone!

Last but not least the supply list:

Bella! Kinda Krafty Paperz Tag It
Bella! Kinda Krafty Paperz Journal It

From The Twinery: Charcoal, Peapod, Lilac and Maraschino Solid twine.

Other supplies: metal hearts, pen from K&Company and a set of Hema kraft notebooks.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog today and wishing you happy crafting!!

For The Record - Pretty Little Studio

Hi everyone!! Today I've got another 8.5 x 11” Pretty Little Studio layout for you. I’m really beginning to like this size and I find that the combination of the two different sizes (12×12 and 8.5×11) look very fun in my scrap albums.

For the white cardstock background of my layout I used a “roses” Silhouette cut from Juliana Michaels

and attached a brown arrow sheet from the Silly Monkey collection (Silly Alice) behind it and then I matted it on a sheet of kraft card stock. For the rest of my page I used mostly papers and embellishments from the Marigold collection. Love that all the Pretty Little Studio collections are so compatible!

In the photo you see my eldest son and I. It’s not the best photo of us, but then I don’t have a lot of photos with Timothy in it so I decided to use this one anyway.

I love (!!) Flair buttons:

Love the die-cut clouds from the Marigold collection:

Thank you for stopping by my blog again today! Have a great weekend!

In the photo you see Manon and Timothy sitting on the edge of the promenade in Benidorm. If you look very closely you can see my toe! as I was standing behind them to take the pic. I loved to see them sitting there together, so companionably

A few close-ups: here's one of the awesome wood veneers of the kit:

Love the glitter rub-ons from Shimelle!!

Fall cards - Imaginisce

Yesterday my the Fall cards I created for Imaginisce were up on their blog!!

I created two Fall cards featuring the fabulous “Bushel o’ Fall“ collection (can’t get enough of this collection!).

First of all the “Happy Fall” card. For this card I was looking for a bit of extra texture and decided to fill the shape of a die-cut (cardstock) apple with some green/white twine.

This sounds probably more difficult than it actually was: I cut the shape of an apple with my Silhouette, made the topside sticky with an adhesive runner and wound a long string of twine on top of this, starting at the edge and winding this inward to the centre of the apple. For the finishing touch I made a little brown/white twine bow around the twig at the top of the apple.

Then the “Autumn Blessings” card. For this card I stamped the pie Snag’ems Stamp on to a piece of white cardstock and colored the image with 3 different colors Copics.

Then I hand cut it and adhered it on top of the card (half over the “autumn blessings” die-cut”) and using my tiny attacher I adhered a little piece of brown/white twine to resemble steam coming from the warm pie.

For both cards I selected a lot of different patterned papers (5 for the Happy Fall card and 6 for the Autumn Blessings card) and just layered these on top of each other, also using an adhesive runner. Before adhering this pile to the white cardstock base I machine stitched them first. I love layering and machine stitching on my projects a lot!

Supplies: Imaginisce: patterned paper, die-cuts, bling, pie stamp (Bushel o’Fall); American Crafts: cardstock, adhesive runner.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope I’ve inspired you to scrap a little today!

At the Alexandria Zoo - Creative Scrappers Reveal Sketch #278

It's reveal day for Sketch #278 on the Creative Scrappers Blog!  And sadly, it's the final layout for the current Team members. I'm soooooo happy I get to stay on, but I'm a bit sad to see many of my scrappy friends go!

The sketch was a great one (always is, lol) and I decided to scrap my first layout with photos of my daughter in Louisiana! The host family she's staying with is absolutely fantastic!!! They are so nice to her, do everything to make her feel welcome and at home and not only do they take her on all these outings, but they also take lots of photos! Thanks Emily, David, Taylor & Wyatt, for being so awesome!

So here's my page: Manon with her host sis and bro having fun at the Alexandria zoo:

I used Scraptastic Club's September kit "The Girl" plus add-on  and flair and stamp set for my page. LOVE this kit!!

A few close-ups:

And the prize to be won from The Twinery are 3 full spools of this awesome twine!! Winner's choice!

And now on to the project I created for the hop: this card using Ruby Rock-It's My Romance and Celebrate collections and a die-cut from a decoupage pack and some awesome pink striped twine from The Twinery:

Here are a few close-ups of how I used the twine. I cut a strip of white cardstock and punched out three hearts. Then I cut another strip of white cardstock, a bit smaller than the first one, added a bit of adhesive (with a roller) and wound the twine around it. I placed the strip with the hearts cut out on top and tada! ready!

I just love the soft pink color of the twine in combination with these papers from Ruby Rock-It/Bella!

Supplies: Ruby Rock-It: "Bella! My Romance" collection, "Bella! Celebrate" collection, "Fundamentals Decoupage Pack Birds" and The Twinery "Blossom Stripe" twine.
