Happy Things - Echo Park - Scraptastic Store

Hi everyone! Here I am again (can you tell it's vacation time? lot's of time to scrap, lol), this time I want to share an Echo Park with you. When I saw the "Anything Goes" collection from Echo Park in the Scraptastic Store, I just had to have it! The colors are right up my alley and look at that paper with the cameras!!

I used it to scrap these soccer photos of my oldest son:

I chose a quite simple design with the six 3.5"x 3.5" squares, so I could use a lot of the different patterned papers! I machine stitched all six squares before I designed the rest of my layout. Which wasn't very difficult with the matching stickers, chipboard accents and decorative brads.

The letters used for "B6" (his team) are from Heidi Swapp.

The brads:

And this "banner sentiment clip" is from Freckled Fawn:

Here's what I used (everything from the Scraptastic Store): Echo Park: "Anything Goes" collection kit, chipboard accents, decorative brads; Bazzill Basics cardstock; Freckled Fawn paper clip; Heidi Swapp alphabet.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Your sweet comments make my day!

Hugs & Kisses Digital Cut File 17turtles & Bella Blvd "Kiss Me" !!

Good evening everyone! Today I've been playing with my Silhouette Cameo, a digital cut file from 17turtles and my Bella Blvd stash!! and I had so much fun!

Ever since Juliana added new cut files to the 17turtles store I've been wanting to play with them and today I finally got the chance. I used the new "Hugs & Kisses" cut file and Bella Blvd's "Kiss Me" collection (an oldie, but a goodie from October 2012) and made this layout for my daughter with her boyfriend in the star role (but if you look closely in his glasses you'll see my daughter, lol - the glasses are hers too!):

I love using background cut files and when I couldn't find the exact right one in the 17turtles store I decided to adjust one of the Hugs and Kisses cut files from the store. Wanna know what I did? I chose this cut file:

But I only wanted the xoxo cut file from the top left corner, so deleted all the others:

Next I copied the cut file:

And placed the two shapes next to each other, overlapping in the middle. Then I selelected them ...

... and clicked on the "weld" button in the bottom left corner. If you look closely you'll see that the line that separated the two cut files is now gone:

I repeated this step (copy, select and weld) and got this:

I resized the cut file by dragging one of the corners until I had this:

And cut it from a sheet of smooth white Bazzill cardstock:

It turned out exactly as I wanted it!! and you already saw the end result:

And a few close-ups:

and:

The "I love you because .... " journaling sticker empty because that's for my daughter to complete!

Here's what I used for my layout: patterned paper, stickers, alpha stickers: Bella Blvd "Kiss Me"; cardstock: Bazzill Basics; epoxy hearts: Pebbles; cork &: Studio Calico; digital cut file: 17turtles Hugs & Kisses; Silhouette Cameo; Aigger sewing machine; Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

This is the 17turtles cut file I used: Hugs & Kisses

And this is it! Hope you found this helpful and if you've got any questions, please fire away!

Wishing you an awesome weekend!

Scraptastic Club Sketch Challenge - LOVE

Today the Scraptastic Club sketch challenge went up and here's what I did using the "It Takes Two" kit, add-on and the stamps:

Love this banner with the gold flags from Crate:

And all the tags in this kit just had to be grouped together on both sides of my photo! And how about that acrylic heart .... isn't it fun?!

Instead of a lot of journaling on my page (see sketch) I used the "It Takes Two" stamp set for this border:

And here's the fabulous sketch Susan created for us: as you can see I turned it to the right ...

Now why don't you join us this month? You don't have to use the kit to join! and you stand a chance to win $ 20.- to spend in the Scraptastic Store! Just upload your take on the sketch with the correct blog post on Scraptastic's blog. You have until March 4th at midnight to submit all of your entries for the February Blog Challenges. Can't wait to see what you will do!

Best Friends - Pretty Little Studio

Hi everyone! Today I've got a Pretty Little Studio layout of my daughter and her friends. For this page I used the fantastic new “You & Me” collection! I’m so in love with this collection!! The colors are so beautiful and the die-cuts so super cute! And you can use it for a lot more occasions than just for Valentine! (Like in this case for “best friends” photos.) This is definitely my new favorite collection!!

For the “rays” I stitched beneath my photo I used the “Adorable”  paper and cut the rays apart. Next I placed them on my paper (a bit apart), cut them a bit for the right size and machine stitched them.

Also love the 3x4 cards and flairs in this collection!

Here’s what I used for my page: You & Me Collection: Pattern Paper, Diecut Butterfly #3, Conversation Hearts diecuts, Flair My Deer Buttons, You & Me 3×4 Cards, Gold Sweetheart Stickers, True Love Gold Flags Stickers, Cupid’s Arrow Stickers, Cut-Outs Be Mine Phrase Strips,  Cut-Outs Cute Label Tags

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Have a great day!

Love You More - Imaginisce Milk Paint Layout

Hi everyone! Yesterday my "Milk Paint" layout for Imaginisce was up on their blog and in case you missed it I'm posting it here too. I had played a bit with the milk paints before and I must say I love using them!!

Let me start with showing you what I made and then I'll proceed showing you how I did this. So here's my layout:

and here's what I did: I started with the pink milk paint and put a little bit in a cup:

Next I added a bit of cold water and stirred:

Even though the water was cold it dissolved perfectly. I decided that the color was a bit too light for my taste and added a bit of the red milk paint to the solution:

This was exactly the color I was looking for and so I painted my entire white cardstock in this color:

Next I chose a background cut file from the Silhouette online store and cut this: isn't it fabulous?! I was so pleased with the result! Really love the stripy water color look!

I placed this background on a sheet of white cardstock and used my sewing machine to stitch four horizontal lines.

Last but not least I placed my (matted) photo on top and embellished with stickers, washi tape and wood veneers.

Supplies:
Imaginisce - My Baby (patterned paper), Love You More (patterned paper, stickers), washi tape, milk paints (pastel pink).
Bazzill Basics - Cardstock
Studio Calico: wood veneers
Other: Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette cut file #73273

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you've enjoyed my project!

Let's Go To The Zoo! - Imaginisce

Good morning everyone! I've been crafty with some Imaginisce Family Fun goodies last weekend (I can't get enough of the bright and fun colors & patterns of this collection!) and can't wait to show you!

I used a photo of my 3 kids in the zoo from about 2 years ago (and now I notice I forgot to include the date in my layout!):

All the "o" 's in the title were created using Imaginisce's I-Top Tool:

This tool is so fun! You can create which ever button/brad etc. you want! HERE's a blog post where I demonstrate how to use this tool.

Thank you so much for stopping by!! For more Imaginisce inspiration, please visit their blog

Patchwork Heart - Scraptastic Club

Good morning everyone! Today I want to share another Scraptastic Club "It Takes Two" layout with you. This layout is about my daughter and her love for British boy band One Direction! Last year when we thought they wouldn't perform in The Netherlands I bought her tickets for the concert in London and she was so excited about this that I just had to scrap about it! (well, to be honest, I scrap almost everything, lol).

Here's what I made:

I just love the "It Takes Two" kit so much that I couldn't choose which papers to use. So I decided to create this patchwork heart so I could use a lot of different papers! I cut four 4x4" squares (only four because they are double sided) and either used them whole or cut through diagonally. The papers I used are from the main kit: Scraptastic Club "Tic Tac Toe" (white with dots and wood veneer with xoxo) and WeR (red with text) and from the add-on: Pebbles (xoxo), Authentique (blue with hearts and red with white dots).

LOVE the alphas from Heidi Swapp!! and isn't that gold glitter arrow from Crate awesome?!

The acrylic "Forever" I used for my title was exclusively designed for this kit:

Thanks for stopping by, have a crafty Sunday!

Scraptastic Thursday Challenge - Color & B/W photo

Hi everyone! Today Anna and my February challenge went up on Scraptastic Club's blog! For our challenge we chose to use both a color photo and a black/white photo for our layouts!

For my layout I used February’s “It Takes Two” kit and add-on and a photo of my kids gazing at the city of Barcelona laying at their feet!

As you can see I used the same photo twice: one in color print and one in black/white and placed the b/w one behind the colored one, but in a way that you can still see part of the b/w photo. I love the cute banner from Crate Paper’s Kiss Kiss collection and attached it to the b/w photo:

The Echo Park flags from the Lucky in Love collection I adhered to the colored photo and added the title on top:

Next I placed two layered tags (Crate’s Kiss Kiss again!) next to the photos and added one of the exclusive flair buttons designed by Kaitlin Sheaffer especially for Scraptastic Club!

And last but not least I added a few elements in the right bottom corner. LOVE those jars!!!

So this was my page. If you want to see what Anna created then hop over to Scraptastic's blog!

And a quick view of the February kit I used:
