And because today it's Monday here's the new sketch from Liz at The Scrappiest!!
And here's the layout I created based on this sketch:
I used the new Imaginisce (Enchanted line) which arrived at my LSS just when I happened to be there! The pics are of my dd and her bff some 8 years ago.... I'm so happy I finally scrapped these!
Yes, of course I used my shape tool from Epiphany Crafts. This time the shape tool heart number 14.
and hidden in the envelop there's some journaling.
Thanks for stopping by and if you want to see what the other designers made, have a look at the blog of The Scrappiest!!! or even better, try the sketch too, link it to Mr Linky and maybe you'll win the amazing prize from "Stash to Treasure"!!
See you soon!

2 new layouts and a prize!
Just thought I would show you the two layouts I made for Inkido.
The first layout features a photo of my sister's three kids together with my three (December 2007):
Materials: Patterned paper (Gammaldags Jul "God Jul" and "Julnoter" and Apples "Golden Delicious"), blue, golden and brown cardstock, flowers, leaves, ribbon, chipboard and pins.... all from Inkido!!!
I machine stitched and hand stitched the papers, sprayed some glimmermist over the flowers, the leaves and the star and inked the punched owl. To create the title I used my Revolution.
And then the prize I won with the American Crafts challenge:
I chose the "Enchanted" line and they sent me everything: papers, laser cut sheets, stickers, thickers, brads, tape, ribbons, stamps......!!!!! I'm still in shock!! and very happy!! :-)
Enjoy your weekend and see you soon!

Another Tilda layout
.... and this time about "me"!
As these Tilda papers were still laying on my scrap desk from the last layout, I decided to use them again.
I created this layout with the sketch from "Get Picky". As you know I love sketches, so I decided to give it a go. The "polaroid" photos I created via a gadget I downloaded from this site: Poladroid. Super duper easy and so much fun!!
The journaling is about things I love and define me.
And - of course - I used my shape tools from Epiphany Crafts... told you, I can't do a layout without them anymore! Here I used the "button studio tool round 20" and the "shape studio tool round 14".

Wohoo, it's Monday again!! and you know what that means!! A new sketch from The Scrappiest!! Here it is, number #91:
I decided to use these old photos of my sister and me (on the right). Materials: patterned paper: Tilda, cs: Bazzill, stamp: Prima marketing, flowers: Prima Marketing, felt expression: Creative Café, bling: Prima Marketing, a sheet from a music book, some ribbon, a metal frame and of course I used my shape tool from Epiphany Crafts (can't do layout without them anymore).

When I arrived home last Saturday I had such a surprise waiting for me! A few weeks I won a prize at Nikki Sivils' blog and this is what it was:
Isn't it great?!!! I'm very happy with it!!

Mashed beetroot
When I posted the layout about my grandmother’s recipe last week a few of you asked me to translate it. Well for me, that’s not as easy as it seems because the Dutch measurements are totally different from the American or English measurements….. but I did my best!
It’s a super easy recipe, here it is (2-4 persons):
Ingredients:
800 gr preboiled/cooked beets (28 oz) (peel if necessary) - use twice this amount if you use fresh beets.
1 kg potatoes (35 oz)
0,5 tbsp butter
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp dutch mayonnaise (= bit sweet) or 3 tbsp sour cream
A pinch of sugar
A pinch of salt
Some pepper
Some gravy
Preparation:
(If you use fresh beets then peel and boil these first until tender.)
Grate the beets (with cheese grater) and put in a saucepan. Add butter, vinegar, sugar, chopped onion, pepper and salt and slowly heat (do not boil!).
In another saucepan: peel and boil the potatoes until tender and when ready mash them (together with a bit of salt and warm milk).
Add the warm, grated beets to the mashed potatoes and mash again. Add mayonnaise (sour cream) and a bit gravy (not too much because you want it creamy and not wet). Season with pepper and salt.
Serve with meatballs or chop sticks.
And that's it! Enjoy!!
Hugs,
Monique

Scrappiest new layout and a BIRTHDAY GIRL!
Monday November 15, that means 2 things today: 1. my darling daughter turned 14 today and 2. there's a new sketch reveal at The Scrappiest!!
Starting with The Scrappiest, here's my layout based on the new sketch:
Made this page with papers and stickers from Imaginisce, the Sweet Cheri line. Love the fibrant colors of this line! I even used the package of the stickers (pink dotted cardstock). Here are a few details:
But the most important thing today was my DD birthday!! Here she is (in the middle), with 2 of her bff's:
And of course a photo of the 2 birthday girls, mother & daugther (and brother and cousin, LOL):
We've had 2 fabulous days and we've been spoiled rotten!!! He had so many family and friends visiting, phoning, e-mailing and texting us!!!
And then there were the friends who actually created something for us! For example, look what Conny made(the soccer ball is for Manon and the owl is for me!):
Aren't these gorgeous???? How can we ever EAT them???? Thanks Con, you're the best!!
Or what about this gift bag my friend Yvonne made me:
or these cards Mieke and Berdien made me:

My Inkido layouts!
Here are two layouts I created for Inkido, solely made with their products (except for the alphas)!
The first one about Manon and her cousin Larissa:
And some close-ups:
I used a lot of flowers and stickles on this one. Not what I normally do, but I like how it turned out!!
Materials: Patterned paper: Autumn Wardrobe (Dotty Rainboots and Wrap my Scarf), Tuva (Rose Dust and Purple Orchid), white cardstock, flowers, leaves, a stamp, ribbon, pearls and charms.
And the second one about Timothy when he was about 6 years old!! Here he's playing in a huge clog right on our market place in the city centre of Delft. This clog stands in front of a tourist shop and whenever we pass the store there are always children sitting in it; kids from tourists, but Dutch kids as well.
And a few close-ups from this layout as well:
Can you guess with which tool I made the owl buttons??? Yes!! My shape tool from Epiphany Crafts!! :-)
Hugs,
Monique

Here's my grandmother's recipe for ...
"bietjesstamppot" (beet & potatoe mash?? don't really know the translation)! Ever since I can remember we eat beetroot mashed through the potatoes. It's my favorite recipe and although the boys don't like it, it's Manon's favorite recipe too! So when she had this assignment from school to create a truly Dutch dish she decided on her great grandmother's beet hodgepodge straight away. And when I saw this week's challenge from American Crafts, to create a layout about a recipe, I knew I just had to participate! So here it is:
Products I used: American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection (papers and chip board shape stickers) and City Park collection (papers) and Thickers (Puffy letter stickers), Kraft sheet, Hambly sheet, BG letter sticker, MM whimsy journaling sheet, Tim Holtz Adirondack ink and Martha Stewart journaling pen.
Thanks for visiting my blog and I would really appreciate a comment!
Hugs,
Monique

Sketch #89 The Scrappiest!
Last week I was so busy I didn't make the deadline, but this week I was in time!
Here's Liz' latest sketch, number #89:
And here's my take on it:
Here's Liz' latest sketch, number #89:
And here's my take on it:
Used my September Nook kit, which was full op Crate paper. These papers fitted my photos of the antique market in France perfectly! and I used my Epiphany Crafts tools, round 14 - of course - !!
I loved this week's sketch! If you do too and feel like scrapping, why not use it and link it to the The Scrappiest blog? You could win an awesome prize sponsored by Stash to Treasure! and while you're there, have a look at the layouts of the other designers and be inspired!
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope to see you soon!
