FUN in the snow!

Last month I was so happy that we had snow and you know why? well yes, of course because it's beautiful and fun, but also because I wanted snow photos! I wanted to scrap some snow layouts!! I had (have) these fun winter lines and wanted to use them! and I did!

Here's one of the layouts I made: Mats and his best friend sleighing down the hill.... and when they sleighed right into a tree, they thought it was hillarious!!

For this page I used the Year.O.Graphy line from Simple Stories. I truly love these papers! The design of every single sheet is so versatile and the colors just perfect for a winter page and the matching stickers (like the snowman and the bird) are terrific!

How about you? Did you have time to scrap your snowpics? or is it summer where you live? Btw, I scrapped two summer pages too, also with Simple Stories but sent them in for a pub call so can't show them yet. However, if they aren't chosen they will show up here one of these days.

Thanks again for stopping by and for letting me share my pages with you.
Have a great weekend!

Monique

2011, a Year in Review!

This week it's Mix & Match week at Doodlebug. As last year was an eventful year for us I decided to do a double layout with all the high (and low) lights of it. Doodlebug's lines are perfect for this as there are papers and embellishments for every event you can think of!

Supply List: Patterned Paper: Surprise Party, Colorwheel, Santa's Workshop, Sweet Cakes and Petite Prints; Alpha Stickers: Candy Shoppe; Die Cuts: Bon Appetit; Stickers: Sweet Cakes, Santa's Workshop, Welcome Home; Fancy Frills: Birthday Celebration, Sweet Cakes, Welcome Home; Doodle-Pops: Pinwheel, Grad Cap, Set Sail and Wedding Cake; Doodle Twine: Valentines. Epoxy Heart Shape: Epiphany Crafts.

Some close-ups:

I typed the journaling straight on the paper with my typewriter (luckily it has a correction ribbon, LOL).

If you want to see more Doodlebug projects, have a look at their blog!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fab weekend!!

Life's a Zoo with Epiphany Crafts!

My page is up at Epiphany Crafts!!

This week we're using the Bubble Caps Round 25 tool for our projects and this is the page I made:

This line by October Afternoon “Sasparilla’ comes with lots of diecuts. The Bubble Caps Round 25 are just perfect to emphasize these matching diecuts. First you layer the diecuts and for the top one you use a Round 25 Bubble Cap, like this:

Instead of the matching diecuts you can also use some old jeans to cut out your own embellishments, like stars for example and then you layer the jeans embellishments with the October Afternoon diecuts and then with a Bubble Cap Round 25, like this:

The possibilities are endless with these caps!!
Epiphany Crafts Supplies:

Doodlebug Tuesday Tutorial!

Today it's my turn for the Tuesday Tutorial over at Doodlebug's blog.

Remember last year when I altered a heart I bought at the garden centre? Well I just couldn't resist to alter this heart as well. I love all the home decor stuff they sell at the garden centres nowadays.... I keep seeing all these possibilities in my mind when I'm there and end up buying  lots of wooden frames and stuff.

So here's what I made:

What do you think? I would love to know!!

Do you want to know how I made it? Here's how:

1. Gather your supplies:

2. Place the frame on your paper, draw a thin pencil line around it and cut it out.

3.  Ink the edges and add some bling.

 4. Turn the frame around and use a hammer to add 2 nails. Fasten a piece of twine between the nails.

5. Choose your embellishments.

6. To adhere the paper to the heart, cover the frame in sticky tape.

7. Adhere paper with embellishments to the frame and add a piece of ribbon to hang the frame on the wall.

8. Use 2 mini clothes pins to hang a photo on the piece of twine. Use another piece of twine to create a banner. Hang in front of your photo and also tie to the nails on the back of the frame.

And you're done!! Easy Peasy!!
Two close-ups of the clusters of embellishments:

Thanks for stopping by and really hope you like this!! If you have any questions at all just send me an email! You'll find my email address at the top of my blog.

{ My Boy }

As of the beginning of this year my friend Mieke joined the design team of "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" blog and this week they're having a blog hop and a fab sketch challenge. As I just love sketches I couldn't resist! So here's the layout I created last night: my youngest a few years ago:

Dit is de layout die ik gemaakt nav hun schets, Matsje een beetje jonger dan hij nu is:

I used the "Heartfelt" line from My Little Shoebox (patterned paper and stickers), flowers from Prima and Petaloo, gems flourishes from Colorbök, a Prima canvas bird and leaves, pearls from Inkido, "words-to-go" from K&Company and letter stickers from Adornit.

And this is the sketch it's based upon:

The sketch was only half of the challenge, the layout had to be about a memory of me belonging to a girl scouting group too. As I have never been part of a scouting group I and I most certainly have no photos of a young "me" belonging to any group I decided to do the page about Mats (who is half me) at the age when he belonged to a music group. He had NO clue what he was doing but he loved to sing and to play all the musical instruments. :) Such a shame I never took a camera with me (how could I have been so dumb?).

If you want to play too, you have until February 28!!  Here's the link!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend everyone!
Big hug,
Monique

Tea for Two!

Today my altered Tea Box is shown on Epiphany Crafts' blog! Although Valentine's Day is over I decided to make this adorable Tea Box filled with tea and sweets. I used Lily Bee's "Head over Heels" and "Stationary" papers and the epoxy shapes from Epiphany Crafts are the perfect finishing touch!

Here are a few more photos:

The tea pot is a resistant canvas from Prima Marketing.

And this is the inside:

And this is the original box. It's a bamboo tea box (but any wooden box would do) which I bought at Xenos.

And a two pics of how I created the box. First I painted the box white, then designed the cover of the lid. To add the ribbon to the paper I used the sewing machine:

The papers from Lily Bee came with my January Kit from the Scrapbook Nook. My fav kit sofar!!

For a chance to win a heart tool just visit Epiphany Crafts' blog and leave a comment at this post. The winner will be chosen next Monday (February 20). Good luck!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Monique

Ice Fun!

Such a shame that the snow and ice have melted again. We had such beautiful days, full of snow and sunshine! but now we're back to grey skies and rain, lots of rain :(. BUT luckily I took lots of photos and have enough to scrap all the pp winter lines I bought! Here's a layout I created for the Dutch Dares using a sketch I made myself. The paper and stickers are from Simple Stories, "Year.O.Graphy". I love the designs and colors of this line!! With my new typewriter I typed the journaling straight on the background paper.

Handig joh!

My youngest is trying to skate with his brand new skates and he needs to practice a lot! Manon and Patrick are helping him.

If you want to see the other designers' creations, please visit the Dutch Dares' blog and if you want a chance to win this month's RAK just use this sketch for your next layout and tell us where to find it! (open to everyone everywhere!!)

Weer hartstikke leuk dat je even langs kwam!

Thanks for stopping by, it's highly appreciated!
