Creative Scrappers Birthday Bash

Creative Scrappers is celebrating 6 years of Creating with Sketches and in honor of this they have 12 new sketches.

I've used one of them to create this page of my lovely niece. She's playing dress up and is wearing one of my daughter's dresses (from when she was 8 or 9 years old). The papers and embellishments are from the new Imaginisce collection "Little Princess".

And a few close-ups:

Supplies: Imaginisce "Little Princess": patterned paper, die-cuts, buttons. Cardstock: American Crafts. Other: crochet doily, silver stars washi tape, twine: Purple Pumpkin. Wood Veneer: Studio Calico. Glimmermist: Tattered Angels. Hemp Cord: Hemptique.

And here's the sketch I used:

And I thought I'd show you the new Imaginisce "Little Princess" collection as well:

Awesome right? Wish I had some more time to play today, but I promised my youngest son to take him to the cinema. We're going to see the Lego film!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and hope you'll have great day!

Sweet Baby - Pretty Little Studio

Hi everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday! As we've been away for a couple of days (to Spain!!) I'm busy unpacking suitcases, doing the laundry (lots of them) and of course updating my blog. Here's a Pretty Little Studio layout that was on their blog a few days ago!! It's a page about me when I was almost one year old.

And here’s how I go about finding the exact right spot for my title when using adhesive letters: it’s very easy, I just stick the adhesive letters to my transparent ruler like this:

Then I hold them above my page at different spots:

Until I find the right spot:

This is so easy and now I never accidentally adhere them where I don’t want them.

Last but not least, I’ve got a few close-ups for you of all those fabulous Pretty Little Studio products I used!

I really really adore this new “Baby Claire” collection! I definitely need to scan and print all the girl baby photos I have of my daughter! (she was born before I went all digital) and start scrapping them!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today! You’re all awesome!
Hugs,

Ruby Rock-It cards

Hi everyone, last week I had a couple of cards up on Ruby Rock-It's blog and I thought I'd show them here too:

As Mother’s Day is around the corner I decided to use the “Bella! Mother” collection to create at least one Mother’s Day card. As this collection is perfect for everything and not only "Mother's Day", I decided to create the second card for “every occasion”.

I really adore this “Bella! Mother” mini collection. The colors are so soft with glitters here and there: so beautiful! So here’s what I created:

I love to layer on my projects and to add little pieces of ribbon and twine.

As I only need one Mother's Day card (for my mother-in-law, my own mother passed away a few years ago), I decided to create the other card for "all occasions":

Don't you just love the paper with the little birdies?

Because I used the beautifully embossed cards from the "Imprints" collection, these cards were done in no time at all!

Here's the list of supplies I used: Imprints - Embossed White Cards - Flourish, Bella! Purple Fusion Paperz - Floral, Bella! Purple Fusion Papers - Florish, Bella! Mother 12x12 Cut-outs, Bella! Mother Die-Cuts, Bella! Floral Pink, Bella! Bling - Small Borderlines Purple, Other: Ribbon/Twine - misc., Studio Calico Wood Veneer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by! Hope to see you back soon!

Love You - Flower Stencils Amanda Robinson Studio

New in Amanda Robinson Studio's shop this week are these awesome Flower Stencils which can be paired with vinyl or acetate to make your own stencils or just as easily used as die cuts on your pages and projects!

Here's what I did, I used the negative flower stencil as a frame for my photo while tucking the larger positive stencil between a few of the patterned paper mats.

I used the September 2013 Jenni Bowlin papercrafting kit for this page. Love the colors of this kit! When fastening my cuts to my page I love to use a stapler like the tiny attacher from Tim Holtz:

The washi tape and dotted button are from the Purple Pumpkin store.

And this is the cutting file I used:

Available in Amanda Robinson Studio's store for only $ 1.50.

Valentina used the flower cutting file as a stencil to mist on her cards. Visit Amanda Robinson Studio's blog to check it out!

Life is GREAT - Ruby Rock-It!

Hi everyone, yesterday I shared my very first project for Ruby Rock-it Bella! Fundamentals on their blog. But, of course, I wanted to share it on my own blog as well. So ..... here it is:

I was asked to create a little tutorial for you and knew exactly what I wanted to do. When I received my box overflowing with fabulous Ruby Rock-It Bella! products, my eye caught this pile of wonderful vellum packages! And because I love using vellum on my scrapbook pages these days (to create titles and overlays, to matt my photos, for backgrounds, etc.), I thought I would share with you how to create a fun background for your layout using an electronic die-cutting system like the Silhouette.

Here’s the page I created:

And here’s how I went about it: I chose a cutting file that went well with my photo, in this case a sunburst template and resized it to A4 format. Then I grabbed the pile of vellum packages and from the many designs I chose a dotted sheet of vellum. I placed it onto my Silhouette cutting mat:

I adjusted the settings to cut vellum, but because the vellum is so nice and “sturdy” I changed the blade settings for vellum from 1 to 2 and started cutting:

And it cut like a charm!

Next I chose a sheet of white cardstock and misted it little with a yellow color mist. One, because the yellow went well with the sun in my photo and two, because it made the vellum more visible. To adhere the vellum to my page I used my sewing machine, not only because I don’t like to see the glue dots shining through the vellum, but also because I just love the effect of machine stitching on my pages. I used some Scotch tape to keep the vellum in place while sewing and got started:

It was done in no time! And if you don’t own a sewing machine, stitching by hand is a perfect solution of course!

Here’re a few close-ups:

and last but not least:

Supplies: Fundamentals Vellum, Bella! Yellow Fusion Paperz Floral, Bella! Yellow Fusion Paperz Damask, Bella! Sugar Candy Paperz Lemon Drop, Bella! Father Die-Cut Pack, Bella! Florals. Other: American Crafts cardstock, Misther Huey's color mist, Dymo word strip, old book page, Tim Holtz mini staples, misc. staples.

This is it, I hope you like it and that I've inspired you to use (more) vellum on your pages! Thanks for visiting my blog today and hope to see you back soon.

Round and round it goes! - Pretty Little Studio and free cut file

I loved the photo for today’s Pretty Little Studio OTB challenge as I happened to have to right photos waiting for me on my desk! When my daughter was in London last year she took these fun photos of the London Eye and I really wanted to scrap those. Because they turned out a bit dark I left them on my desk for quite a while, but when I saw today’s challenge I just had to use them! The perfect Pretty Little Studio collection to use was “Neapolitan”; the photos are a bit dark because of the English weather, but because this collection is so light colored it formed the perfect counterpart! (Btw, the background paper is from October Afternoon.)

The title was created with my Silhouette (I’m a fan of large titles!). If you want it too, scroll down a bit to download it.

And this was today's Pretty Little Studio OTB photo:

Feel free to download the studio cut file for this large title. Just click on the link below the image. The only thing I ask you is to give me credit when using it.
