Manhattan | Paper House | SG CREATE Magazine

When I was sorting my layouts to put them in albums, I came across this one and realized I never shared it on my blog. So I thought today is a good day to do so.

Paper House was the sponsored manufacturer for SG CREATE Magazine issue 14 and I got this wonderful pack of New York papers and embellishments to work with. Like for example that sheet with the New York “street sign”, isn't it awesome?!

When we were in New York we had a hotel right on Times Square and so we spent a lot of time there. This sheet of paper was just perfect for a lot of my photos.

The stickers belonging to this New York collection are fantastic as well. All of the stickers would have been a perfect fit for my photos! And I really adore the “metallic” ones.

Supply list: patterned paper: Paper House, cardstock: American Crafts, stickers: Paper House, epoxy stickers: Pebbles, cork sticker: Fancy Pants, metal paper clip: Maya Road, wood veneer: Pinkfresh Studio, gaffer tape: 7Gypsies, stamping ink: Ranger, color mist: Studio Calico, date stamp: Trodat.

If you want to know where to find issue #14 of CREATE Magazine, just click on the link! You'll find it's filled with many many awesome projects!

Thank you so much for stopping by again today!

Perfect Together | Doodlebug | Scrapbook Magazine #87

For issue #87 of Scrapbook Magazine UK I was asked to create a "Love" layout. Creating “love” layouts is something I do often. For today’s layout I chose to scrap about the special bond between my husband and our daughter. In December 2013 the two of them spent a few days in Venice and had an awesome time. Because I love seeing them enjoying each other’s company so much I wanted to scrap about it. To do this I chose a Valentine’s collection from Doodlebug Design, because I felt that this bright and colourful collection expresses exactly the story I wanted to tell.

a few close-ups:

Designer Tips
Tip 1. When you can’t find the desired background (paper) use a die-cutting machine to create one, like this one with all the hearts.
Tip 2. When you’re using mainly one colour for your layout, use elements with a different texture (like wood veneer, twine, metal) to create more depth.
Tip 3. For a fun effect use the same photo twice and place one behind the other at a slight angle.

Materials lists
Materials: patterned paper, tickets, cardstock stickers, twine, sugar coated cardstock, mini love note, alphabet stickers: Doodlebug Design; cardstock (white): American Crafts; wood veneer: Studio Calico; cross stitched heart sticker: Echo Park; enamel dot: My Mind’s Eye; transparent word: Heidi Swapp; word label: K&Company; metal word: misc.; cut files: The Cut Shoppe (hearts background), Kerri Bradford (perfect), Pretty Little Studio (2).
Tools: Silhouette Cameo; Aigger sewing machine; heart punch: Pipoos;

London Bus | Imaginisce's Happy Traveler collection

Hello crafty friends! Today I've got my second "Happy Traveler" layout up on Imaginisce's blog. How I adore this new collection! The bright colors are just up my alley and I so love the fun patterns.

At the beginning of the month I went to London with my daughter and two American relatives of ours. The relatives had never been to London before and we had promised to show them around. One of the things we did was a "hop on - hop off" sight seeing tour with one of those red English double-decker buses. We sat on the top floor (sometimes even right in the front) and had such an amazing view!

The colors of the Happy Traveler collection were just perfect for my photos with the red London buses and black cabs!

And what I discovered in the packet of wood veneers was amazing .... a London bus and a London cab! I just had to use those of course!

With my Silhouette Cameo I cut out the London skyline and for the title I used some American Crafts Thickers:

And of course I added one of the puffy stickers as well. To give it even more dimension I added some stitching, piercing the holes in the paper with Imaginisce's I-Score and Pierce tool.

I expect to create many more projects with this awesome collection!! Hope you'll give it a try too! Can't wait to see yours!

AC/Imaginisce supplies:
Imaginisce: patterned paper, wood veneer, puffy stickers (Happy Traveler); American Crafts: cardstock, Thickers. Tools: Imaginisce I-Score & Pierce tool.
Other: Silhouette Cameo, cutting file from Silhouette store #57460.

Sisters | Me & My Big Ideas | Stuck?! Sketches

Today I thought I'd join in the sketch challenge from "Stuck?! Sketches". I chose this photo of my daughter with one of her best friends and host sister, taken last March in the US when my dd was living there. My dd had such a great time staying with this sweet girl that I just had to scrap this photo.

I used lots of Mambi products for this page. Love all the small tidbits they sell for planners, which are perfect for layouts as well, look:

Aren't those papers with the gold foil accents from the "Gold Rush" paper pad awesome?! I combined them with bright colored Project Life cards from the "Story Of Me" package.

And those puffy stickers are so fun! I could use them everywhere on my page. The title is a cut file from Kerri Bradford.

The deer is actually from Maya Road. It had been lying on my desk for ages and just asked to be used.

The tag was made using a punch from Stampin! Up.

And this is the sketch I used:

Scraptastic Club | How to create digital cut files using stamps from the kit.

Hi everyone! Scraptastic Club will have a new, fabulous website soon, but until then the old website is almost completely down. This means no Scraptastic Club blog posts. But, as I have my own blog I thought I would share my Scraptastic blog post here!

This month I'm working with the Elastic Heart kit and for today's project I used the main kit only:

But, NOT included in this kit are the digital cut files I used on this page: the camera, the circle with the heart and the strip with the text in the top right corner.

To create all of these I used the (image of the) stamps from the August Wednesday Night kit. Want to know how?? Well let me show you!

First of all, the stamp set: make sure before you start to save the image of the stamp set in your computer (easiest way is to just right click on the image below and save).

Step 1. Open the stamp set image in your Silhouette:

Step 2. Click on the trace icon in the top right corner, click "select trace area" and select the entire stamp set:

Step 3: remove the click at "High Pass Filter" and change the "Treshold" to about 60:

Step 4: Click the "Trace" button:

Step 5: Drag the black image aside and delete:

Step 6: VoilĂ : your own cut files!! Drag one of the corners to change the size:

I used the shiny black cardstock (My Mind's Eye: Black Bear) from the Elastic Heart main kit for my cut files:

Really loving the result!! Hope you'll give it a try too. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Don't you just love that pink acrylic word or those gold foil pennants from the WeR ephemera package in this kit?!

Thank you so much for stopping by and if you want to check out this kit and it's contents, just go HERE

Have a fab week!
Hugs,

At the ocean | Pretty Little Studio

Happy Sunday everyone! This morning I realized I haven't shared my take on Pretty Little Studio's August sketch challenge from 3 weeks ago. And although it's actually more than 3 weeks ago there's still time to play! So let me show you the sketch and what I did with it.

As soon as I saw it, the ideas started coming. I decided to use the Treasure Island collection once again (can’t get enough of this one) and created a little “collage” of a some beach photos in Picasa and printed those (size 4.5 x 4.5”). For the size of my page I chose 8.5 x 11”, which I find perfect for the 8 x 8” papers.

The strips are mostly leftovers from other layouts and I was so glad I always keep each and every snippet of paper when I’m finished with a project! They always come in handy!

I really love the result and I sure will pin this fun sketch for future use.

A few more close-ups:

Pretty Little Studio products I used: Patterned Paper: Treasure Island 8×8 Pack, Fish Scale Reef, Castaway Sea, Ship Deck, Welcome Aboard, Smooth Sailing, Cannon Beach; Vellum: Anchors Away (navy), Castaway (lime); Flair: Ocean Adventure; Die-cuts: Arrow Adventure, Pirate Cove (whale); Tabs: Treasure Map; Cut-Outs: Sail Away Mini Bingo, Let’s Go Phrase Strips, Stickers: Anchors Away; Word Art: Ocean.

And here's the sketch:

We would love for you to play along with our Sketch Challenge this month! Leave a link to your project in the comments of this post on Pretty Little Studio's blog . Contest ends August 31, 2015.
One person will be randomly chosen to win a $10 Gift Certificate.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hello NY - layout for SG CREATE Magazine July 2015 issue

Hi everyone!! For today I thought I'd share my first project for the July issue of CREATE Magazine. This layout was created for the product challenge using the awesome Shimelle collection, a TCW stencil and Heidi Swapp color shine and Studio Calico's Mister Huey's color mist:

The challenge was to use a stencil (or mask) in an innovative way on a traditional layout. For my layout I chose a stencil with a map of the subway and used four different colors to mist. The photos are from our vacation in New York in 2011.

And a few close-ups:

Supply List:
patterned paper: American Crafts Shimelle
cardstock: Bazzill Basics
letter stickers: American Crafts, Pretty Little Studio
accent & phrase stickers: American Crafts Shimelle
foil stickers: American Crafts Dear Lizzy
word stickers: Pretty Little Studio
die cut cardstock shapes: American Crafts Shimelle
flair button: Pretty Little Studio
mini words cut-outs: Pretty Little Studio
stamping ink: Ranger
color shine: Heidi Swapp
color mist: Studio Calico
pen: K&Company
stamp: American Crafts Shimelle
stencil: TCW

If you haven't had time to read the magazine as yet, don't worry, it's still there, just like all the older issues. HERE's the link in case you want to hop over and check it out. It's really an awesome magazine, full of amazing projects!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fab day!

New Imaginisce collection HAPPY TRAVELER!! - Go.See.Do.

Good morning everyone! Have you seen the new travel collections from Imaginisce?! I'm so excited! I truly adore it! and you know what? Right now you have a chance to WIN it!! Hop over to Imaginisce's blog, follow them and leave a comment telling them what you like most about this collection ... that's all you have to do!! You have until August 28!

This is the first layout I made with the Happy Traveler collection. Many more to come!

Last May we were on vacation in Louisiana and when we were in Lafayette we decided to book a swamp tour. This was such an awesome experience that I had to scrap it and the Happy Traveler collection was just perfect for this! Except for two 4x6" photos, I also scrapped the tour admittance ticket.

For the background I used two sheets of patterned paper and a sheet of white cardstock and machine stitched them together. I matted the photos and arranged them on the map paper, added the journaling card, the swamp ticket, hand written journaling and some embellishments. The layout really didn't need a whole lot more as the paper with the map is so awesome, you don't want to cover it all up.

I love those wood veneers and puffy stickers!!

Then I decided something was missing and added the hand stitched arrows. For this I used the embroidery stencils from Amy Tangerine and the "I-Score & Pierce" tool.

I so love this tool and use it all the time! It's really four tools in one: there are 4 tips: a 1mm piercing tip, a 4mm piercing tip, a 1.5mm embossing tip and a 2.0mm embossing tip. Here's what I did:

Supplies:
Imaginisce: patterned paper, wood veneer, puffy stickers (Happy Traveler); American Crafts: cardstock, Thickers, embroidery stencil. Tools: Imaginisce I-Score & Pierce tool.

And here's how the collection looks:

double sided paper:

6x6 paper pad:
die-cuts;

wood veneer:

puffy stickers:

stamps:

WOW! right??
So, to WIN this collection, hop over to Imaginisce's blog!!!!

Can't wait to see what you'll do with this collection! Don't forget to share on our facebook page
