So Fun | My Creative Scrapbook July Main Kit Step-By-Step

Hello friends! Here's a layout with a step-by-step instruction which I created for My Creative Scrapbook using the July Main Kit and my new watercolor. For my layout I chose some photos of my eldest son playing on the Nintendo Switch, which he just got for his 21st birthday.

For me, the way to get started is by unpacking the kit and placing everything on the table to decide what I'm going to use:

Next I got out my new bottles of watercolor paint and my (colorless) gesso. First I applied the gesso and after that had dried I drew a few large circles on the white cardstock. I started with yellow, then orange and then red paint and once that had dried I added some blue, orange and red drops:

To straighten the paper I placed it under something heavy for a night and when that didn't help I cut off a thin strip on two sides and glued the white cardstock onto the red cardstock. It looked much better then!

With a Coluzzle I cut circles from two photos and I cut lots of circles from a few sheets of patterned paper:

First I matted the photos and then I divided all the circles over my page in a vertical line:

I made a start with placing embellishments here and there and also stamped a few images from that that beautiful stamp set from Pebbles.

For a nice crisp stamped image I placed a soft mat underneath my paper and stamped the images I wanted:

I fussy cut them both and placed them on my layout.

I really love the pop of yellow!

After adding the rest of the emellishments (die-cuts, chipboards, stickers) I added some machine stitching and wrote a few lines of journaling and I was done! Here are two more close-up photos:

Isn't this kit amazing?! I'm totally in love with the colors and designs! Best Mother's Day | Pretty Little Studio

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing my latest Pretty Little Studio layout using the beautiful Indian Summer collection. I don’t have many photos of me with all 3 of my children (and the dog!), so when I do have one I make sure I scrap it! These photos were taken on Mother’s Day last May and I’m so happy my husband took them!

I had these photos printed really small so they fit perfectly in the beautiful die-cut frames “Timeless”.

When I had the photos printed I couldn’t decide whether to print them in color or b/w and now I’m so glad I decided on both.

I backed all the other die-cut frames with patterned paper and adhered lots of embellishments on top.

For the journaling I used my new pink WeR typewriter and love the result. Below the journaling I adhered the title using the Frutti Tutti alpha stickers and above I added two die-cut tabs. After adding lots of machine stitching I page was done!

I scrapped this layout on a sheet of 12″x 12″ watercolor paper and sprayed lots of watercolor ink in the middle of the page (without using gesso first) and love that the paper stayed almost straight. I did however, glue the paper onto another sheet of cardstock, which of course, helped too.

Here’s what I used for my layout:
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and taking a peek at my layout! Please don’t forget to pay the Pretty Little Studio Shop a visit to take a look at all the fabulous collections!
