TOP 12 FROM 2012!!!

It's time for my top 12 of this year. Looking through all the folders to find my layouts I found quite a lot of pages I had "forgotten" about! I ended up with 14 favorites and asked my daughter to do the final selection and narrow it down to 12.... surprisingly she discarded the two featuring her :).

So, without further ado, in no specific order are here my 2012 favorites!

Fun Times (October Afternoon) for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

Beach Fun (Jenni Bowlin)

Hit the Road (My Mind's Eye) for the Dutch Dares

Koninginnedag 2012 (My Mind's Eye) for the Dutch Dares

Kreta Fun (Little Yellow Bicycle) for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

Summer Ingredients (Jillibean Soup) Jillibean sketch challenge

@ the Zoo (October Afternoon) for Epiphany Crafts

You Shine (ColorConspiracy)

We love APPLE (ColorConspiracy)

1944 (My Little Shoebox)

Play and Relax (Simple Stories)

Snow Fun (Doodlebug)

and I decided to show you the two pages my daughter decided against anyway:

Paashaas/Easter Bunny (Jenni Bowlin)

At the Beach (Jenni Bowlin)

And these were my favorites this year ... and you? Did you select your favorites too? If you did, please let me know as I would love to see them!!

Thanks for stopping by!

My "Notebook" projects

This month I got to play with the "Notebook" collection from My Little Shoebox. What a fun collection this is! I made 2 layouts and 2 cards.... here they are:

This page is about my daughter who has a tremendous crush on the boy band "One Direction". On this photo she's showing a necklace she just purchased with the text "Marry Me Harry", who is one of the 5 boys of 1D. (The necklace with "Marry Me Niall was sold out, LOL).

MLS supplies: Patterned Paper: Chocolate & Chiffon (11899), With Love (50031), Always and Forever (50032), Truly Yours (50033), Bits and Pieces (50034); 3D Roll-Up Flower and Accents (50035), Cardstock Sticker (50036); Mini Alphabet Stickers: Peppermint Stick(08431). Other supplies: Bling swirl: Prima Marketing; Kraft Cardstock: American Crafts; Feather: misc.

The next layout is about my son's 13th birthday. For this page I used my craft knife to carefully cut out the middle of the "With Love" sheet (not because I don't like it, but because it was just not appropriate for the layout I had in mind :) ).

MLS supplies: Patterned Paper: Chocolate & Chiffon (11899), With Love (50031), Always and Forever (50032), Truly Yours (50033), Bits and Pieces (50034); 3D Roll-Up Flower and Accents (50035), Cardstock Sticker (50036); Muse Cardstock Alphabet Sticker Firecracker (50101) and Newsprint (50102). Another Christmas Layout!

Don't you just LOVE this time of year?? It's awfully busy, but I don't care, I'm enjoying myself immensely! Take last weekend, on Saturday I had a crop marathon with friends from my (former) LSS and on Sunday I had a Christmas crop with dinner with a few of my best friends! The layout I'm about to show you was made on Sunday (only the machine stitching was added this morning - no page is complete without it, but I don't like carrying my sewing machine around, LOL).

The page is about my youngest, who just wrote his very first English words "Happy New Year". Isn't he adorable?

And a few close-ups:

The papers are from the French manufacturer "ColorConspiracy" (one of my new favorite manufacturers) and are called "Texturize".

They are having a December challenge right now, which is to create a Christmas page. You have until December 31 to join if you'd like to!

And here are - of course - a few photos of the weekend!

One from Saturday, with my former LSS friends:

and one from Sunday with my bff's:

Girls, I hope you don't mind I posted you on the internet!!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're enjoying your December Days as much as I do!

{ Fun Times }

It's the 15th of the month and that means the new sketch challenge at "Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge" is up!

This is the layout I created with the sketch, using October Afternoon's "Midway". The photo is of my youngest and his niece, who both love to dress up. The clown suite my niece is wearing is made by my sister in law, who is a genius at making dress-up clothes! We have loads of clothes like these, just because of her!

I really adore this collection, it's so bright and happy and the images are so super fun!!

And this is the sketch it's based upon:

If you like challenges and you feel like scrapping, why not join us? and who knows, maybe you'll be our next guest designer!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you'll have a fabulous weekend!

* Diana Fisher - USA

Jodi Wilton - Canada

Monique Liedtke - Netherlands

* Regina Mangum - USA

Can you see my name there?!! Isn't that exciting?! Never thought I would make this team ... November was such a busy month (with Manon's and my own birthdays, all my normal dt projects and the extra projects for LYB) that I couldn't find the time to create 4 new projects for their call. The day before the closing date of their call I decided that I HAD to try and quickly pulled out all my very last scraps of their papers and created the 4 required - never seen before - projects, photographed them (what was really hard with it getting so dark so early!) and send it in - at the very last minute!!! Never did I think I would be chosen!!!

But sometimes dreams do come true!!

Thank you so much Cari and all the others at Imaginisce for this wonderful opportunity! Looking forward to get started!!

Doodlebug's 12 Days of Christmas!

Hello everyone!! Are you all busy with the Christmas preparations? I haven't started yet, but will soon! To get you all in the festive mood Doodlebug is having a "12 Days of Christmas" and I was assigned Day 3!

As I couldn't decide on a project (layout, card or something else) I decided to just do it all: 2 layouts, a card and a decoration.

Let's start with 2 layouts:

My first layout "Jip" is my favorite, it's about my sweet Cocker Spaniel: Jippie:

The photo was taken on December 25th 2011 (my son decided Jippie should join us in the celebrations as well and so he gave her a Santa hat). To emphasize the date I used my Silhouette to cut the numbers background and the big "25". The round scalloped background was also cut with the Silhouette. The other fun details like the snowman, the sign post and the deer are all Doodlebug stickers.

Doodlebug North Pole supplies: 12x12 Patterned Paper, 6x6 Paper Pad, Cardstock Stickers (Icons and Party Banner), Doodle Twine, Cute Cuts, Mini Doodle-Pops, Doodles Cardstock Stickers (Merry Christmas).

Then my second layout "Faster", a totally different style as I wanted to try something else entirely.

When I made this page I decided to use the strip with the Doodlebug logo as well. I think it adds a funny little detail to the layout.

Doodlebug North Pole supplies: 12x12 Patterned Paper, 6x6 Paper Pad, Cardstock Stickers (Icons), Cute Cuts, Mini Doodle-Pops, Teensy Type Alphabet Stickers.

My next project is a Christmas card:

Don't you just love this collection? Look just how sweet this little birdie is!!
The snowflake was cut with the Silhouette.

Doodlebug North Pole supplies: 12x12 Patterned Paper, 6x6 Paper Pad, Cute Cuts.

And then last but not least, a teeny tiny tutorial for a Christmas ornament. I figured if you're not ready decorating by now you wouldn't want a lengthy tutorial, but rather a quick fun one and maybe even one to do with your kids .... maybe something like this?

Well, take your 6x6 paper pad and your scissors and let's get started!

1. Choose one sheet of 6x6 paper

2. and fold in half:

3. Take your scissors and cut about 9 lines (while you paper is still folded), starting at the fold and stopping half an inch before the edge (the spaces between the cut lines are about half an inch as well), like this:

4. Open the folded paper and now fold it the other way:

5. Adhere the sides with double sided tape or staple and push gently on the top so it will get a bit wider and you get a form like this:

6. To create the second, more playful, form, you fold you paper double as well, but now you adhere the two diagonal corners of your paper with i.e. a stapler:

7. Add a piece of Doodle Twine in one of the corners and you're done!

Hope you like it!!

That's it! Hope you all have a wonderful day and that you'll be back soon!
