Haunted House Shadow Box - Doodlebug Design

This week was "Shadow Box" week over at Doodlebug Design. If you need Shadow Box inspiration that's the place to go!! My project went up on Tuesday!

I've never decorated a real shadow box before, not because I didn’t want to, but because I thought I couldn’t do it. I didn’t want to “ruin” the shadow box and so I never tried. But now I’m hooked! I just love how this 3D Haunted House turned out!

To create this I used the Doodlebug Halloween collection “Halloween Parade” and a Silhouette cut file (by Marji Roy). Although we don’t celebrate Halloween here in The Netherlands I love to decorate our house just a little bit and this shadow box is just what it needed!

I just love this collection:

and I think I've used about all the stickers from this sticker sheet

Be sure to check out lots of other fun shadowbox ideas on the Doodlebug blog this week! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!!

This Is Awesome - Pretty Little Studio

If you liked yesterday's layout then maybe you'll like today's too ... as here's another Pretty Little Studio page! Today the new PLS sketch challenge went up and I created this page using the "Sand Castle" collection (LOVE)!!

The boys in the layout are my oldest son (on the right) and his nephew chilling on a French beach in Carnon Plage only 4 weeks ago. Except for nephews they've been best friends forever and so my sis and I always try to spend at least one week of the summer holidays together. Her 3 kids and my 3 kids are all about the same age and they get on like a house on fire ... such a blessing!

How I love Pretty Little Studio's products. Have you seen those ice cream diecuts, the arrow stickers, the arrow diecuts, the tags, the bingo cards and of course the papers! The stamped circles are made with a stamp from Scraptastic Kit Club. The title was created using the Silhouette Cameo. Thanks to Ashley Horton I finally figured out how to do it! If you click on her name it will bring you to her blog in case you want to see this technique too.

And this is the sketch Keri Babbitt created for us:

If you like the sketch and want to give it a try too you can submit any project with any kind of product and who knows, maybe you'll be the winner of a $5 coupon to the PLS store!! Challenge ends on September 30th.

This is it for today. Thanks for stopping by my blog and hoping to see you back soon!

A Summer Day - Pretty Little Studio

Good morning and happy Monday!! Today it's my turn on Pretty Little Studio's blog to show my "free" layout. I've used the fabulous new collection NEAPOLITAN to create this layout about my youngest son. He loves to pinch my (sun) glasses and make funny faces:

And a few close-ups of all the super cute embellishments this collection contains:

I just LOVE layering on my pages: combining as many patterned papers of different colors and designs as possible, is my favorite technique!

Did you know Pretty Little Studio has a brand new shop? HERE's the link if you want to see it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll have a fabulous week!

Merry Christmas - Doodlebug

And it's time for yet another Doodlebug layout, this one created with their brand new "Home for the Holidays" collection! It's up on Doodlebug's blog today :).

Although it won't be Christmas for 95 days (lol, I counted!) I loved scrapping these photos; they reminded what a fun time Christmas is! Can't wait for December to start (and at least, that way we'll get to skip my bday!).

Don't you just love that deer paper?!!

The entire week this collection is being featured at Doodlebug's blog, so hop over for more Christmas fun!!

Thanks for visiting my blog again! and enjoy the rest of your day!

So Happy Together - Doodlebug Design

It really felt like Christmas when all the new products from Doodlebug Design started rolling in!! One of these new fabulous collections is the "Day to Day" collection! I just LOVE IT!!!! It has such super cute embellishments and designs and you can use it for almost every single occasion!

In this case I used a photo from our summer holidays in France last August: the kids on some very very old stairs in Pont St. Esprit (on DB's blog last Friday):

Because I love lots of layers and combining many different patterns and colors I decided to change my color photo to black and white. I really like how it turned out

My favorite Doodlebug products right now are the new sprinklers and the pixies!! I could use them on every single project!

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog!

One Two Three Snap! - Imaginisce - and some happy mail!

Last Wednesday my "Good Dog" layout was up on Imaginisce's blog! It goes without saying that I used a photo of my dog Jippie:

Lots of machine stitching on this page, but oh how I need a new machine... nearly ruined my page! (and you should see the back of the paper, lol!).

I've created some coordinating brads for my page using the I-Top. Wanna see how easy it was to make them??

Step 1: Choose a size for your punches and brads. I used the 16 mm (small) and the 22 mm (medium).

Step 2: Place the punched out paper shape on top of the shell (I always use a glue dot to keep my paper shape in place, but you don’t have to) and place them on your tool.

Step 3: Squeeze your tool and release:

Step 4: Fold the paper tabs inside the shell.

Step 5: Place the brad base in the tool and squeeze until you hear a popping sound which means the brad clicked together.

And that’s it. Now you have the perfect – coordinating – brads!!

Thank you so much for letting me share! Hope you found this helpful, if you have any questions just let me know!

Supplies Used: Imaginisce (Good Dog: patterned paper, sticker stackers, chipboard stickers; Childhood Memories: ABC stickers; Brad Daddies). Other Supplies used: Bazzill cardstock, Studio Calico: cork embellishments. Tools: Imaginisce I-Top tool, Silhouette Cameo, Aigger sewing machine

If you want to see more fun Imaginisce projects from the other designers using their favorite Imaginisce tools, please visit Imaginisce's blog!!

Then when I got home today, I had TWO packages waiting for me! One package contained issue 75 of Scrapbook Magazine UK in which I was published:

I was asked to create a layout for the "Scraplift Challenge": a layout for the readers to lift. I used Doodlebug's Take Note collection and stamps from Unity Stamps Company.

And the other happy mail, was a box with my DT goodies from Pretty Little Studio!! I've unpacked it for you .... Isn't this awesome?!!! Feels like Christmas!

Okay this was it for today! Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Really appreciating it!

Pretty Little Studio Introduction!!!

Today my introduction is up on Pretty Little Studio's brand new blog!!! I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to be part of Melissa Ross' new team! Her products are so so super cute!

Here's a layout I made with her Nature Walk collection:

The photo was taken the morning Manon returned from her "back to nature" vacation in the Ardennes (no electicity, no phone (!), no running water, no showers ....) in July. She went there with a group of unknown boys and girls of the same age and came home with lots of new found friends! She had had such a good time, that she'd rather go back and stay a while longer!

This PLS collection was exactly what this photo needed! I scrapped the photo the minute we arrived home! Manon jumped under the shower and slept for about 24 hours and I scrapped! (no, not for 24 hours, lol).

And I've got some good news for you too ... If you leave a comment on Pretty Little Studio's blog with my introduction blogpost you can win this set of Nature Walk tags! (you don't have to become a follower, or anything, just comment!)

Thanks everyone for visiting my blog today! Hope to visit yours too asap!!

Holiday Photos - La France!

Okay, it took me a little longer than expected, but here're a few photos of our holiday in France last month:

The first week we rented a little house in a holiday resort in Le Montan. The resort had many swimming pools and slides, which the kids loved!! What I loved most were the surroundings with the endless lavender fields!

There was lots to do at the resort itself (swimming, mini golf, zumba lessons, karaoke (no I didn't join in, lol), but in the neighbourhood there was lots to do as well. We visited little villages like Pont St Esprit and Villiers and we went to a crocodile farm:

I just love these little French villages!!!

Then the next week we went to the address we always go to when we're in France: Cardet!

I've been coming here for about 38 years now and the kids since they've been born! We love the camping site, the river Gardon, the villages (Anduze, St. Jean du Gard, Sommieres) and the little markets. And every year I buy a couple of these French dishes (the orange ones in the photo) and have acquired quite a lot over the years!

We also love going to the beach in Carnon and having lunch at Le Lézard.

All in all we had a great holiday and for the kids the two weeks were definitely too short!! I on the other hand, didn't mind going home as I missed scrapping a lot! (although I brought some scrapping stuff with me - and used it!!)

Thanks for taking the time to have a look! Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Hugs,
