Colors of Christmas Release Party - Imaginisce!

Last week a "Colors of Christmas" release party has been held on Imaginisce's blog! Here're the layouts I created for the party!

First up: Holiday Cheer:

Every year in December an ice-skating rink is built in the centre of our town which stays there for one month only. It’s always packed with kids, both little and big! And sometimes even parents attempt to skate there, but because it’s no so big it’s very crowded. So it’s not really about ice skating, but more about getting together and doing something fun. My kids love it! These photos are from a few years ago, but they still go there every year. I love watching them, meanwhile enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Supplies: Imaginsce (Color of Christmas collection: patterned paper, die-cuts, sticker stackers). Other supplies: cardstock: Bazzill Basics; wood veneer: Studio Calico; Viva: Perlen Pen; old book page. Tools: Silhouette Cameo; Border Punch: Fiskars.

And here's my second layout: Tradition

These photos were taken during the Christmas Show in our garden and home décor centre. This Christmas show is known everywhere and we go there several times every year! I always bring my camera to take lots of photos of the kids, but this time my daughter insisted to take a pic of me too. As this is the first time I decided to scrap it and because I had Imaginisce’s new Color of Christmas collection on my desk so I got started straight away. I love using lots of layers and different patterned papers on my layouts and with this collection that is so easy; all patterns and colors match perfectly!

I really adore this new Imaginisce Christmas collection; the colors are awesome, the designs are perfect, the many die-cuts are fantastic (there are so many to choose from!) and I just LOVE that owl!!

Supplies: Imaginsce (Color of Christmas collection: patterned paper, die-cuts, bling. Bushel o’ Fall collection: button). Other supplies: cardstock: Bazzill Basics; staples: V&D. Tools: Silhouette Cameo; Corner & Border Punch: Fiskars.

Thanks for visiting my blog again today! Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend!

Father and Daughter 1964 - Fancy Pants

Wow, two blogposts in one day! That doesn't happen much on my blog. But I really wanted to share this layout too. (Maybe you noticed the layout was gone for a couple of months, but it was published in Scrapbook Trends and so I had to take it off my blog, but here it is again!)

When I came accross Celine Navarro's "father and daughter" layout on Fancy Pants' blog it caught my eye straight away. In her blogpost she says "It's funny how easy it is to scrapbook our family, kids, husband and even our pets, but who can scrapbook US? Nobody scrapbooked our lives since we were a child so why not start today?!" And so, that's what I did!

I scanned some old photos of my father and I dated 1964 and got started:

I used Fancy Pants' "Memories Captured" collection, which I just love (but I love them all, lol)! And here're a few close-ups:

This Fancy Pants collection (and also "Wonderful Day") I bought at Paper Issues

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Wishing you a wonderful Monday!

Christmas Joy - Pretty Little Studio

Last Thursday the new sketch challenge went up at Pretty Little Studio! I really loved using this sketch for my layout. As all Pretty Little Studio collections come with lots of tags I always use them a lot anyway, so this sketch was just perfect for me! And because I hadn’t had a chance to work with Pretty Little Studio's Christmas papers yet, I knew straight away what I was going to use!

The photos were taken last month at a Christmas show in a local garden and home décor shop and were lying on my table waiting to be scrapped! And this is the result; don’t you just love the adorable die-cuts and bingo cards?!

And this is the sketch is based upon:

Mocht je zin hebben om te scrappen, waarom niet een keertje meedoen? Je kan $5.- winnen om in de winkel van Pretty Little Studio te besteden.

Now, if you feel like scrapping why not try this one? You can win $5.- to spend in Pretty Little Studio's online store

Wishing you a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Announcing the Imaginisce 2014 Design Team!

Have you seen the announcement of Imaginisce's design team for 2014?!! and have you seen that my name's on that list once again!! Wohoo, I'm so happy about that!! Last year has been truly terrific; the team was sooooo super nice and Cari is the sweetest person there is (!!!!!) and I was really dreading the end of the term! But now I've been given a whole extra year to design for them!! Yay!

Wanna see who else made the team? Here's the list:

Angi Barrs -  USA
Tracy Gruber -  USA
Katrina Hunt -  USA
Aimee Kidd - USA
Monique Liedtke - The Netherlands
Jodi Wilton - Canada

I'm so proud to find my name among this group of very talented ladies!

And here're a few of my favorite projects I made for them:

See you back soon!

Jingle Bells - Pretty Little Studio

As soon as I saw what the photo for Pretty Little Studio's OOTB challenge was, I knew which element I was going to use for my project: the Christmas Deer diecut (Clarice)!! He's sooo cute!

For the background, I just layered lots of Pretty Little Studio’s gorgeous Christmas papers and elements on to a piece of kraft cardstock. I’ve been using elements from both the “Christmas at Home” collection and the “Jingle Bells” collection. I just love that these two collections are so compatible!

And this is the photo we got for the OOTB challenge:

Thanks for letting me share!

Thankful for Friends! - Doodlebug

Yesterday my "I'm thankful for ... " layout was up on Doodlebug's blog and I thought I would show it to you here too. I find there's so very much to be thankful for and I love scrapping about it. In this case I chose to scrap about my friends.... how different life would be without friends! So yes, I'm very very thankful for my friends!

I used Doodlebug's "Happy Harvest" collection and can I just say that I adore this collection: the warm colors and all those super cute embellishments! Scrapping with this collection made me so happy! I know, I say that about every Doodlebug collection, but it's how I feel.

The leaves (both red and blue) and part of the title were cut with the Silhouette Cameo.
A few close-ups:

Wonderful You - Pretty Little Studio

In case you're wondering why my blog looks so different ... It's under construction! I've asked Kristine Davidson to create a new blog design for my blog and I hope I'll be able to show it to you soon!

Today it's my turn on Pretty Little Studio's blog and here's what I made: a birthday layout using the "Birthday Cake" collection. I just love that the colors coordinate so well with the colors of my photo!

The title was created using the sketch pen in my Silhouette Cameo.

In Nederland wordt Pretty Little Studio sinds verkocht door Scrapplaza!!

Thanks for having a peek at my layout!

Hope to see you back soon!

Gratitude Week at Imaginisce

This week is "Gratitude Week" at Imaginisce and because we in The Netherlands don’t celebrate Thanksgiving like they do in the US, I decided to create a layout about what I’m thankful for. And what I’m thankful for most, is my family! In this case my in-laws. I chose this photo of my husband with his parents, his brother and his sister. I’m so very thankful I belong to this warm, welcoming & happy family too.

a few close-ups: I just love all those big die-cuts!!

Supplies: Imaginsce (Bushel of Fall collection: patterned paper, die-cuts, sticker stackers, bling pack). Other supplies: cardstock: Bazzill Basics; flowers: Inkido, wood veneer & mist: Studio Calico. Tools: Corner and Border Punch: Fiskars; Border Punch: Martha Stewart.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Wishing you a fab weekend!

Doodlebug Advent Calendar!

For today I want to share a "Home for the Holidays" Advent Calendar I made for my kids and oh my this was so much fun to do! Although two of my kids are way in their teens (14 and 16) they love it just as much as my 8 year old!

So, here it is, what do you think?

And you won't believe how quick and easy this was to create!

I started with 24 kraft tags. I cut them out of one 12x12 kraft sheet with my Silhouette Cameo, but of course you can use any tag you want . Mine measure approx. 3" x 1.5".

Then I cut 24 rounded rectangles. I used 4 sheets from the 6x6 paper pack and because the sheets are double sided, this gave me 8 different designs.

I adhered the rectangles on the tags:

And started embellishing:

The last step was adding little notes & wishes to the back of the cards, twine and a ribbon and I was done!

Examples of the messages I wrote on the back of the cards are: "Your present is hidden in the living room, start looking!", "Today dad will give you $2.-" (well "euros" in my case), "Jippie's (the dog) turn today" .... The possibilities are endless!

I found the wooden frame at a local garden centre. Isn't it just perfect for this cause?

Supplies: Doodlebug Home for the Holidays collection.

If you're making a Doodlebug Advent Calendar too this year then don't forget to share it on Doodlebug's facebook page! We would love to see it!

Thanks for visiting Doodlebug's blog! Happy scrapping!

Bedankt voor het langskomen op mijn blog!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ...

well, to be truthful, not as yet. Firstly we have a few bdays coming up and then our Dutch "Santa Claus" on December 5th and then we'll start the Xmas decorations. But I do want to share a Xmas layout, using Bella Blvd's "Christmas Countdown" and a photo of our youngest.

and a few close-ups:

Ik vind dit toch zo'n gave collectie van Bella Blvd! en hij scrapt heerlijk, met al die stickers, tags, woordjes, frames, enz!

I really love this collection from Bella Blvd with al its stickers, words and phrases, die-cuts like the frame and the tag ... It almost scraps itself, lol.

Wishing you an awesome weekend!!
Hugs xoxo

Inspired by .... Sherri Cartwright {Doodlebug}

I think this was one of my favorite Doodlebug assignments to date: "Search through the Doodlebug Pinterest pages for ideas. Create something that is inspired by a PIN you found on the DB boards."

This was so much fun! There were so many fabulous Doodlebug projects to look at. I took me forever to even start looking for one to use for this assignment. I just kept looking at all the fantastic projects.

In the end I decided to narrow down my search to projects of only one person. I chose a design team member who has a completely different scrap style than I have: Sherri Cartwright. I have always loved the backgrounds of her layouts and wished I could do that too (but was afraid to try).

So that's what I did and this is the end result: An "I am thankful for family and friends" layout with a mixed media background.

and some close-ups:

The background was created using a TCW template (chicken wire it's called) and lots of gesso. When the paper was dry again, I sprayed on three different mists and used a tissue to whipe off the excess. As I had some problems getting my paper "straight" again I trimmed half an inch of all sides of my cardstock and machine stitched it to a patterned paper. This way my layout is not so "wavy" any more.

And now you probably want to know which PIN I was inspired by? Here it is:

Except for the painted background, I also incorporated the twine and the little bits and pieces that are "randomly" spread over the page in my layout. I really like how this turned out and will definitely try this technique again. Hope you like it too!

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Father & Son - Pretty Little Studio

Today I want to show you a “Father & Son” layout I created for Pretty Little Studio. For this page I used the fabulous “MONSIEUR“ collection which was just perfect for my photo. I love that the colors and designs of this collection are more “manly” than the other collections and the die-cuts of all the different types of men are just hilarious (Mr Leonard Vintage Die-Cuts). I also adore all the shipping tags and calendar cards that belong to this collection. It makes layering on pages so easy!

And in case you were wondering …. the camera at the bottom of my page is a Silhouette sketch file (from the Silhouette online store). I love using the sketch pen in my Silhouette once in a while.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting my blog today.
